Interested to know your opinion? Is the performance against Vargas more evidence of a fighter who is becoming a shadow of what he was.. Where has the snap, crackle & pop gone?
Still doe, most guys who get knocked out cold like that rarely ever come back. Pac's still beating good young/primed fighters. It's amazing what Pac's been doing after being put to sleep so brutally. It's a testament to his mental fortitude and heart. The man is just a fighter to the bone.
Oh yeah, dude's incredible. He's lost so much of his prime and still whoops on top welterweights. It's scary to think what he could do to these same fighters at his best.
He's a top flight ATG.
Yeah, whatever killer instinct he might have had left vanished after that knockout. Getting put out cold for 3 minutes might do that to a guy. :lol1:

Moved up in weight and became faster and stronger @ a late age but ironically this same freak of nature who has superhuman healing powers and magic salt water has had an early decline.
Wake up pact@rds. He was on peds.
Peaked at cotto and has been declining ever since. So 7 years. This sounds right. I'd say he is down to about 85% as good as he was for Cotto. He just beat the hell out of Bradley who is in the top 10 pound for pound on many lists and champion Vargas all within the last 6 months. Pacquiao is still on most top 10 pound for pound lists. He isn't what he was for Cotto but he still isn't easy to beat. I would love to see him retire as he gets a little worse each fight but until he loses a fight he probably will keep fighting.
He's no longer the same prime Pacquiao, of course. No question about that. Everyone says so. But he needs to fight young hungry lions like Crawford doe. Young prime lions like Thurman, Brook, Canelo, etc. He lost a lot of steps doe, but he should fight young hungry lions doe. :pat:
to some they call that being smart.
He fights much smarter now yes, that I agree and he boxes really well.
But that's not what made Pacquaio great and it will cause him to struggle with the elite boxers IMO.
But he's 37 years old so you can't expect much more.
And he got knocked out cold for his troubles.
It's sad to see Pacquaio with little killer instinct because that is what made him so great. He's tentative now and despite still lunging in wildly he's worried about what's coming back and a little gunshy at times.

That's also about the time the reborn Christian stuff really told hold of him, and combined with the damage he did to Margarito in that fight he's never really shown the killer instinct he did before. Marquez 4 was the only time since that we saw that guy.

in my opinion after the margarito fight.. even though he won, I think that fight took a lot out of him. was never the same after that. his punches slowly started to look very sloppy after every fight.
that quick snap was gone. then again, you have to consider back then pac wasn't a congress or a senator yet so he had more time to commit to boxing.
nowadays he's basically a part time boxer. the only time he see the inside of a boxing gym is when he has a fight coming up. I think if pac would have moved to the states and train daily with roach he could have been a lot better.
Miles and miles.
He's a shell of his former self.
That said, much like Mayweather, desperate to being well past it he's still really good.
I agree with all of this.

I'd say he's about 60% of his former prime self, but still good enough to beat just about any WW in the division despite the fact that he's realistically a LWW.
His speed, odd angles and awkwardness alone will trouble almost anyone within his weight class.
Pac is only going to look even older in his next fight, and he'll a lose a little bit of what he once had after every fight he takes at this point.
He was past it about four years ago and has been declining slowly, but gradually since then.
