Time and time again I see this in boxing. Magdalena pretty much lived his whole life in the United States in Vegas, makes hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not a million or two from the PAC fight, has basically lived the American dream yet in the biggest fight of his life he's going to wear Mexican colors with MEXICO on the back. Some people will say well he's just proud of his heritage and he's representing. That's BS. If hes so proud of his heritage and it's that important to him he would be living in Mexico still trying to improve the situation there instead of bailing out and living the good life here. The one and only thing I've ever agreed with Mayweather on is when he said American fans don't back up American fighters like foreign fans do for their countries fighters. Examples, when Manny fights how many Filipino fans, or when Canelo fights how man Mexican fans are going for their opponent?? Not many if at all. However, thats not even remotely true for an American fighter and American fans.
mexicans are the biggest boxing fans so it would be silly not to try and get their support. boxing is a business remember! its not a sport or competetion. that has been obvious.
you mad? Lmoa
yeah I was, he can love his heritage is much as he wants but he was born in the United States of America no need to bring out the Mexican national anthem
Danny Garcia did the same sh*t. It really bugs me when fighters do this.
But at least Magdaleno speaks Spanish doesn't he? So he can interact with Mexican fans/television if he needs to. Garcia on the other hand though...
Magdaleno is a bum, another average boxer in the mix with an 0 who has no real business holding a world title, Donaire owned him the majority of the fight boxing politics robbing another veteran in the game for some hyped up sh1t fighter don't care If you're Mexican no decent person can even make an excuse for Mag winning fighting absolutely **** running and holding.
Boxing is so damaged it really needs a proper authority to ensure correct decisions are given.
Forgive these dumb bastards my friend they grow up being told by their parents that they are 'Mexican' I got friends pure pochos that never been to Mexico but call themselves Mexicans....they can barely speak any Spanish and when they do its irritating they remind me of Victor Ortiz and Bam Bam Rios...its pathetic Mejico dont want them either.
How could white folk understand this? I mean say you have a native German move to the US, his kids most likely won't be taught German or even visit Germany and are simply 'American' not knowing anything of their father's homeland. Other cultures and people keep their heritage and traditions alive where as white people just blend in almost immediately and forget where they came from.
As for African Americans not understanding, well I cannot say anything to that as their culture and history was taken away from them and so they don't know any better.
PS: I am not Mexican and fully support people like Magdaleno doing this.

You wouldn't understand it unless you were in his shoes. Mexican Americans, for the most part, grow up disciplined and are distilled the Mexican culture through their parents. I tell you this because damn near all of my cousins born in the US first language was Spanish, grew up on traditional Mexican food and frequently visited Mexico growing up and love it there. Are they proud of their heritage? Yup. But I think they are attempting to identify themselves since the government and people in the US don't simply see a Chicano as an American, they always throw the Mexican tag out first themselves.
I think White Americans and African Americans don't understand, for the most part, because most bloodlines and origins have been lost at this point and they simply identify as "American". Also, Mexico is the State's neighbor, something only one other country shares with the US... our ties to our families South of the border and accessibility to connect with them is far easier than say a Kenyan, Japanese, etc... :lol1:
