“Golovkin says he’s not about the money. Let’s make the fight for the people, for the public.
“The arrangements can be made, so there is no problem, but you have to make the fight. Look, the one who is running here is Golovkin. Maybe he doesn’t know how much is being offered. So the money is there to make the fight.”
De La Hoya then goes on to inexplicably say that he’s not interested in chasing around Golovkin any longer.
"We are no longer chasing Golovkin and his team. They're playing games, that's all. Canelo will continue his career, he will fight in January or February, depending on the hand, and then go fight in May and September, and hopefully September will be the fight with Golovkin."
The situation with De La Hoya saying he is done chasing and that they are playing games sounds like classic fight promotion drama, but at some point negotiations have to move from talk to action. Fans just want clarity and a fair offer accepted so the matchup can finally happen instead of endless back and forth statements. Boxing politics can be just as intense as the fight itself, and while waiting for official confirmation many people follow updates through a mobile application or look for extra entertainment they can download and install easily. I have even seen discussions about using a betting app to stay engaged with odds and related gaming options. Still, hopefully both sides reach an agreement and give fans the fight they have been waiting for.
I'll ask for the 5th time in this thread. If ten million isn't enough to get g string (with ZERO quality win) to finally fight a quality opponent and advance his career, what is that price tag?
Canelo isn't willing to fight GGG for at least another year, so that question is meaningless.
This is why boxing sucks so much. The fans actually buy into all the stupid tricks and feints like Golden Boy is pulling now. Whether they actually believe it or decide to to hate a fighter, it ends up working and letting every scumbag promoter know they can avoid the best fights so long as they find some flimsy excuse.
Nothing else mattered the moment Alvarez and Golden Boy said "Not until September 2017." And if this deal suddenly isn't on the table come summer 2017 (which you know there's a good chance it won't), then we'll know they never wanted it at all and this was a joke.
Even after Floyd is retired, Floydboys remain, killing boxing with their emotionally driven agenda's.
I knows and you knows too.
If Canelo had offered GGG 160lbs and $10million to fight him next as soon as Khan was out of the way, GGG would have accepted it, and Canelo didn't want to fight him. That's why he handed over his belt without making any offers at all.
As for your question ... GGG didn't turn down a fight with Canelo, he turned down Oscar's first offer because he had more than a year to negotiate a better deal.

Back when SRL won the WBC LHW at a catchweight of 168, he never even tried to keep hold of it by defending at a catchweight, like Cotto and Canelo did with the WBC MW belt.
SRL was a bigger star back then Canelo and Cotto ever dreamed of being, but the WBC would never have allowed him to do what those 2 divas did. The reason the WBC wouldn't have allowed it is that they knew the fans would have turned on them if they had.
So what's changed since then? I think the rise of social media is part of what killed boxing in the States. It allows promoters and sanctioning organisations to influence public opinion by fooling and manipulating the stupids. And the stupids, unfortunately, have always outnumbered the smart people in this world.
Why didn't Canelo offer GGG $10million to fight him next, when he still had the WBC belt?

I doubt he made half those best case projections. The UK money in particular is peanuts
its not all from GBP ofc,and you are probably just used to Floyd PPVs but 450k is big PPV at lowest, highest sources give you 650k,if it would sell 1m they would made Canelo 25-30 and Khan 15-25,they included all PPV +tv+sponsors
Both make good posts. Green to the both of yous

So, I'll ask a 4th time if 10 million isn't enough for g string (with ZERO quality wins) to silence some critics and finally advance his career, what is that price tag?
Who knows, but the 10 million dollar offer is on the table now.
I'll ask you for the 3rd time in this thread, if 10 million and an opportunity to finally advance his career isn't enough, what is that price tag?

He had what, one Ring top ten win? Maybe Rhodes was also top 10? He wasn't more established, he wasn't top 3p4p, wasn't a dominant champ with 3 belts. You know Ggg vs nobody was the highest rated premium cable fight last year? Like 4x Jacobs Quillin.
No flat fees for the biggest fight in boxing. How hard is it to process this obvious fact, stupid fcuk?
You ignorant priick, 97k PPV sales says you're full of shyte. Again, Canelo brings the money to this fight. For a fighter with exactly ZERO quality wins and damn few good options, 10 million is one helluva an offer.
Fight is in 2017 september so how you know what is the deal?or what upside will GGG get.in this offer they gave him 10m+% and its not only source of money For GGG ,TV rights, gates and sponsors
Yeah, Canelo and Oscar say they won't fight GGG till next Sept.
So why would GGG accept their first offer when he had more than a year to negotiate?
More bullshyte from g strings #1 ballgagger. Again, when was the last time a fighter with exactly ZERO quality wins gets a 10 million dollar purse? NEVER!
I realize your man crush on g string blocks your ability to think but it's Canelo that brings the financial clout to this fight and 10 million is more than fair for what g string brings to the table.
Now wipe your chin and go apologize to g string for the teeth marks

I'm talking ppvs upside of course, that's what really counts

If he was offered ppvs upside like Khan, sure. But Canelo wanted to fight Khan and he doesn't wanna fight Ggg, so upside for Khan and not for Ggg

DE LA Hoya "done chasing gg, they're playing games" + hopes they accept fair offer 😎 | BoxingScene Community
