Fear ducking - simply being afraid of getting beat up or knocked out
Business ducking- being afraid of losing income
Reputation ducking - fear of losing that 0 or being perceived as a lesser fighter by the fans.
Out of these 3 which one do you think prevents most good fights from happening? I think it's combination of all 3 but I think business ducking is the biggest problem. I also think it's management not the fighters themselves who do most of the ducking.
I can't pick one of those because they are all part of the same thing. No fighter wants to get beat up or knocked out of course. No fighter wants to lose because it hurts their reputation and their future earning power. It's probably more the fear of losing than the fear of getting beat up, hurt or KOed in most cases. With a brutal KO artist it might be fear of getting hurt or seriously injured. A few fighters break ribs and facial bones fairly often.
