When did we as boxing fans go from being arm-chair corner men to being financial advisers?
All the talk of A-Side B-side etc is what is killing the fandom of boxing.
It is has moved on from being "Wow fighter A v Fighter B would be awesome because of A's speed v B's power" etc and to pfft A gains nothing financially from fighting .
When did being a champion stop meaning anything? When did it become about how much money everyone will make?
Accounting Scene.
The thing is, it's clear that no one has a real clue on that aspect.
No one knows about the real money matters and what's going on behind closed doors. It's all assumptions and guess-work.
The majority of the time people just want to use the 'A side' argument against/for, guys they like/dislike. While it's a matter that is important for fighters, fans don't really care about it, but some will make out they do when the want to use it as an agenda.
Fans need to be aware of the financial aspects of boxing. We're aware of them in every other sport. We know football, basketball, soccer, baseball players contracts. Only in boxing people want the fans to remain ignorant of the financial part of the game. Finances make or break fights.
Yes but supporters never say that Man U/Bulls/Patriots/Chiefs and Real Madrid/Celtics/Cowboys/Yankees shouldn't play each other because the one team doesn't bring in enough fans or are not getting the right split of money. They talk about strategy, game plans performances.
I'm wondering this myself...Half the threads today seem to be about A-side B-side nonsense instead of discussing fights or potential fights. It's pathetic really.
um pac did call floydś bluff and you know what happened...the 40 million flat offer which delayed the fight for another 3 years. guess that was the media that made that offer seem like a duck right
Its allways duck on NSB,Floyd was afraid doe:rofl::rofl::rofl:
At one point it was industry writers against Floyd that wrote this ideology such as 2010 May vs Pac. For #48 fans or neutral heads that didn't care much for Floyd's style hinted that May was ducking Pac either in the form of purse splits or WADA abided tests...
Not sure how daring another p4p king with drug testing is considered A-side bullying. would seem rather easy to call that bluff, yet again, Arum is a business man. He'd make sure Pac wouldn't fight Floyd... until it all gets old thay Arum sees the opportunity in bettting on Floyd come 2015. Sadly, Roach, Arum, and team Pac all bet on Floyd on the downlow...including all the writers against Floyd..
Alvarez vs Golovkin is nothing but a repetitive microcosm of the May vs Pac legacy

since some guy said he doesn´t fight for the fans and he has to worry about his health. fans became his financial advisor and doctor and defended him ducking.
