WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO does not deserve a shot at the WBA heavyweight title. The WBA have let the issue of who should fight for their title become a farce this week. When are they going to stop faffing around and get their title sorted? Why are we still waiting for them to make up their minds? Click Here To Read More]
He ain't fighting Joshua next summer. He is #2 in the WBA & WBO. He wants a title. Joshua offered up the IBF & a massive payday. He said no. He was in line to fight Parker for the vacant WBO belt as the #2 contender. He said no so they gave the shot to Ruiz as the #3. Browne is not the #1 or #2 in the WBA. He is the #5 behind Ortiz, Klitschko, Ustinov & Oquendo. Klitschko should be fighting Ortiz for the vacant WBA not Lucas Browne. He is simply trying to get a belt without beating the top guys. He is done & should just hang it up. He's had a great career, made lots of money & is going to the hall of fame but what he is doing here is pretty weak. Everyone sees it but Klitschko fans. He is trying to take the path of least resistance. He hasn't looked good since the pulev fight. He is still in great shape but doesn't look like he can pull the trigger anymore. He is over 40 now & there are some serious young gun HWs who may be able to take him out. Fury doesn't have big power but Wilder, Parker & Joshua do. Ortiz is 37 but a serious threat to him too but yet he feels he should be able to fight Browne for a vacant belt when Ortiz is ranked higher than both he & Browne. It's a clear duck of a tough fight. He wants to retire a champion. He has no intention of fighting Wilder, Joshua, Parker or Ortiz. You are a smart guy you should be able to see this.
What is wrong with you Joe !!!
How dare you make sense ?
Dont you know it is not allowed on these boards!
Now wait for the accusations of hatred and bias !!!
Francine Warren is such a hater. If it would've been the opposite, and Klitschko had won then lost complete control of his life and the belts went up he'd be all over saying Fury deserves the shot. Warren is so transparent and not in the good way.
Warren has discovered another cause of mental illness. It is rematch clauses in boxing contracts. This makes sense, it couldn't be the drugs, or getting hit in the face by heavyweights, or all those other reasons you read about in books. All Fury has to do when he recovers is avoid rematch clauses and problem solved!
I have no problem with Wlad fighting for the WBA title, after all he did hold them and was about to fight for them in a rematch which hasn't happened.
Anthony Joshua on the other hand does not deserve to step over everybody else in the rankings and fight for it, even though i'd like to see Joshua v Wlad.
Well said. It's a bit of a conundrum, as Wlad has the right to a title shot as much as anyone, and I do want to see Wlad/AJ.
However, AJ doesn't deserve a shot at anything else yet. For all the gasbagging people do on here, AJ has fought no one, and bought the belt he has. The only thing missing from the AJ/Martin contract was specifying what round Martin would complete his cash out.
I agree this fight doesn't have the same potential but C'mon man.. Stop bigging mediocre guys up because they are in top 10.. Parker will be a one sided fight if not stopped by Wlad, he defeated a well in prime and more fluid Haye and this version suits even better.. AJ stylistically not a problem at all and I am rooting for Wlad to win that fight when it happens.. Fury isn't someone who matches up well with any HW..
Wlad is a hall of famer without question but he looks done to me. The Pulev fight was an awesome display & I had high hopes for a few blockbusters after. Age & becoming a father may have zapped some of his motivation. I first said this when he beat Jennings. It was the first time in a decade he looked vulnerable. Then the Fury fight happened. I don't think he can pull the trigger anymore. How many fights does he have left on that German TV contract? I think he is done & he knows it. I believe if he were to fight Browne for the vacant title & won he would retire. He doesn't need the money. He is no Tyson & Holyfield with his spending so why not call it a day while he still has all his marbles? One punch could change everything. He is in great shape in his 40s but so was Holyfield. The mind says you can do it but that doesn't mean the body can. I think he is done & that is just my opinion. I would love to see him prove me wrong & clean out Parker, Ortiz, Fury, Wilder & Joshua to end his career. We had a chance to see Klitschko/Joshua by years end. It would of made up for us losing out on Wilder/Povetkin & Fury/Klitschko. It's very disappointing...
Frank is a Fvcking hater...
Wlad is clearly the best option for a vacant belt vs another top guy..
To think a decade reigning kingpin isnt a top contender just because he finally lost is absurd
If Wlad said yes to the 4 man tourney he would have fought Andy Ruiz & the winner would face Parker/Haye. He would of got the better end of the draw but would still have to go through Parker or Haye again to get the belt. So with no Wlad involved Parker/Ruiz was made & winner fights Haye. No matter where Wlad looks he may have to fight a top HW. Haye is a solid 227-230lbs HW now not the blown up CW he was 5 years ago. Parker is a young lion & so is Joshua. These guys can all punch & end it quickly. Fury is a awkward & a big tactician who uses faints, both stances, head movement, etc but he doesn't have big power. Ortiz looks to have big power & an ability to both box & brawl. Wilder is another guy who can't be forgotten. There is a pretty good landscape of HW threats to a 40 year old Klitschko. Fighting Browne just doesn't have the same luster...

Klitschko was the champ for many years so I think fighting for one of the newly vacated titles is legit. Who else out there deserves it more than Wlad?

You complain of lack of luster but Klitschko isn't attempting to please you, he's attempting to get his belts back hence the delay to the IBF title crack, not a scrapping of an IBF tile tilt a mere delay to pick up the WBA belt. The WBO and WBC will next after he has collected the first two. Only the title fights now at whatever cost, Klitschko knows he hasn't long left.
A fight versus Browne tells us where Klitschko is at, if he lost to Joshua without first facing Browne we'd have no idea how to rate Joshua should he have beaten Klitschko since his last two poor displays, you're right he looked to be jaded since Pulev. Let the guy face Browne so we can ascertain how much he has left.

If Parker Ruiz was ordered a wbo semi fight off Parker would have withdrew and pursued Joshua through his mandatory crack. The four man fight off would have fallen flat on its face.
Why are taking issue with Klitschko pursuing the belt ?
Ortiz did not lose his mando spot when he dropped out of Ustinov fight. Ustinov refused to agree to VADA drug testing so the fight fell through then Ortiz paid 1 million to get out of GBP. It's a mess but sounds like both were to blame on that fight falling through. I'm trying to find a link or story on it...it's he said/she said claims from both the Ortiz & Ustinov camps but the WBA stated VADA was a must for this fight to happen & Ustinov refused...
So Ustinov refused testing and Ortiz has a guy lined up not sanctioned by the WBA ?
I have no idea what Ustinov is doing. He seems to be getting a raw deal whichever way he turns. He is the WBA #3 so you would think he would be in talks for a big WBA fight...
I think Ustinov does not want something so he approached the end of his career.:boxing:
Ok.. here is what I have been explaining to people for the last 3 days, doing it again...
WBA title is achievable by fighting the #1 or #3 in both cases Ortiz is scheduled to fight Scott, and also has lost his mandatory WBA spot because the Ustinov fight fell through..
WBO on the other hand announced a 4 man tournament and now they backed out of that and Paker and Ruiz are fighting for the title..
Both of your claims of not fighting a top guy goes down the drain..
Why should a guy in his 40s who wanted to reclaim his titles agree to get into a 4 man fight with WBO.. He still has WBA to fight for..
Coming to Joshua, yeah if Hearn had been consistent about his claim from day 1 about WBA or WBO on the line as the condition then you guys wouldn't have said he missed out an opportunity.. By fighting For IBF, he will lose his ranking with WBA and WBO.. With WBO out of question Wlad stands to lose WBA. So whoever wins the WBA then he has to agree to have them unify after IBF..
If Joshua is willing to fight in summer next year which I believe he is, then it can be a bigger fight with unification of titles.. So it's a smart move to get your lost belts.. All of this because the douchebag who was supposed to give the guy a rematch went mental...
P.S - if you think all along Hearn was being honest about his negotiations with Wlad and that WBA was the spanner, you need to go back and start looking at Hearn's interviews from the last 2-3 weeks.. There was always a clause or mention for other titles..

Ortiz refused to face Ustinov, his promotional issues got in the way of his ranking he has sacrificed his position for a new promoter and in the process lost out on a regular title shot to just fight for the interim, he has lost his mandatory position. Oquendo had a rematch to Chagaev owed right ? Chagaev has now retired saving us the repeat of the first fight, be grateful.
Ustinov I haven't the faintest what is happening with him, has he refused to face Wlad and Browne has been moved in ? I don't know the details so I will not comment, I'll leave that to guys like yourself to speculate on the injustices.

I totally want Wlad vs ortiz or Joshua but I don't think Browne should be eligible for a VACANT WBA belt without beating guys ahead of him.
I don't think highly of neither Browne not Oquendo, but Wlad should be fighting for the Super title which is vacant and if that's Ortiz then good but if it's someone else so be it.. After all the things that has happened to the guy with injury and cancellation of rematch, he deserves to fight for the titles he lost not a worthless interim version.. The WBA were supposed to announce yesterday and I don't see any news published on their website..

I cannot believe Boxrec for fight scheduled because they tend to have fights scheduled based on interim news. I'd rather Wlad-Ortiz than Wlad-Browne or even better to have WBA on the line with Wlad AJ on Dec 10.. It rests on WBA to make the decision.. All I want is to Wlad to fight for an earned title on Dec 10th AJ/Ortiz both are welcome..
I was sepculating on a thread what if Hearn could pull a Brook move again and say if not AJ fight Ortiz, but Hearn didn't risk it..
