What will Jacobs' next demand/excuse be?

Because that move, after all of the talk that went down, was sketch as heck, regardless of whether there's official proof or not. Pacquiao never pissed dirty or came back with dirty blood, but there was enough going around that folks were rightfully questioning what was up; Pacquiao, at the age of 28, going from super featherweight all the way up to a catchweight in the junior middleweight division, without losing any of his speed/athleticism and taking his power up in weight with him, being the most glaring. The moment that the initial Floyd fight, as an outsider looking in, fell apart over Pacquiao refusing to have both he and Floyd tested throughout camp, raised enough suspicion with me. You look at the performances after the initial backing off on testing, plus how long it took Pacquiao to be ready to finally test, and he's about as guilty as you could be without the final proof. The circumstantial evidence for HBO having put their finger on the neck of Main Events is overwhelming, and if they would do that to Stevenson-Kovalev, I have no doubt that they would do the same for Golovkin-Jacobs (people can diss the fight all they want, but do you honestly believe that HBO will let Golovkin risk his belts, and the aura that they've built over the last 3 years, on a rival broadcaster, in clearly his toughest fight as a professional?). first off, Duva did not call for a purse bid. All she did was to request that Kov be named mando, which was granted. She mistakenly thought that would give her some leverage to deal with Haymon and GYM. She miscalculated and GYM elected not to negotiate and called for the purse bid instead. Duva had nothing to do with it going to bid. As for the "overwhelming" circumstantial evidence that HBO pulled the plug on Duva, well that statement is laughable. You have ZERO circumstantial evidence. Actually the evidence is to the contrary. Had HBO been in the middle of that deal, they would have given Duva the max number they would go to for the fight, and Duva would have actually went through with the purse bid, and only pulled out afterwards if she was outbid by Haymon. (just like Haymon did on Quillin-Korobov) Whether she pulled out before the bid or after the bid, the end result would have been the same, which was Kov losing his mando status. There was no logical reason for Duva to not at least go through with the bid and see how it went.

Staging Golovkin-Jacobs, and creating an event that literally sells out in NYC (no ticket BS) and does massive business on TV (possibly PPV) would be a great move towards justifying a share of the full event; no different than Alvarez, after balking at the initial Mayweather offer, choosing to fight off of Mayweather's undercard, stage his own event in Texas, and have 40k fans come out to see him fight Austin Trout, before going back to the Floyd talks and not only getting the Mexico TV, but also getting a share of the event/PPV (though the talk of coming down in weight to fight Floyd leaving him having to give up a few pounds for the fight).
