Last night's referee in the Bellew-Flores match was pathetic. That low blow changed everything and Flores never recovered. I am not saying Flores would have won but he deserved to lose fairly. Unfortunately this is way too common with British officials. I don't know whether they are blind or corrupt because every match they officiate is always a disaster if there is a foreign fighter involved. At least countries like Germany might have some dodgy decisions but they do not let referees screw you. I used to watch even when Ricky Hatton was fighting, the guy would violate every boxing rule, rabbit punching, hitting below the belt, wrestling you name it. In the post fight interview he would say 'I gave him a little of that' as if it wasn't a big deal and no one would try to reprimand him.
Can anyone please name one competent British Referee who can do a good job without biase or favour?

Excellent thread it was long overdue.
Its undeniable that Eddie Hearns Prize-fighters have been assigned the worst refs for world championship fights and this is by design. Let the evidence lead you to the truth...In the Lee Selby vs. Eric Hunter Marcus McDonnell ( from the UK) was assigned this crook deducted points off hunter for legal shots that were on the belt line ; that act neutralized Hunters knockdown over Selby and lead to the robbery! then O'Connor was assigned for Linares vs. Crolla -- the fix was apparent from the beginning it was so obvious that Paulie Malignaggi had to check Carl ' The Worm ' Foch and his partner in crime Adam Smith as they blatanly ignored the mistakes that O'Conor was making in there and exposing their bias for the fellow Britt.
Last week Howard Foster was assigned for Burns vs. Kiryl Relikh, that fight was one of the worst inexcusable roberries I ever seen in my life given Ricky Burns history -- They should change his name to 'Freeway' Ricky ; too give you a sample of how bad Howard Foster is all you got to do is turn up the volume right before he is announced ( in the UK btw) and now this week Ian John Lewis was assigned for Bellew-Flores!.....and if you still have any doubt...look at Eddies favorite Cashcow Anthony Joshua : Ian John Lewis , Howard Foster , O'Connor have been assigned for his most significant fights....but the one that sticks out the most is Jean-Pierre Van Imschoot who was never assigned to officiate a world championship fight at least to my knowledge. So to sum it up you have to go into these Britts backyard with the ref against you AND possibly contending with at least one Judge in Hearns pocket.

the ****? one low blow went in, likely accidental, why should he have stopped it? Refs aren't supposed to stop a fight whenever the boxer feels like taking a break. From then on, Flores was KD with head shots.
As much as many refs are **** in the sport these days and as many refs in the UK stop fights a bit too early, can't fault him last night.
They are pretty bad. Victor Loughlin is good and Howard Foster Jr is a good referre if prone to an early stoppage though I am not one to criticise a fighter for that.
The guy yesterday is nearly always o.k. Missed a low blow but other than that was fine. To me it looked like BJ swallowed it a bit. Sort of like a Pavlik vs Gary Lockett affair. He convinced himself early doors that he was going to get stopped. That ref gave him plenty of opportunity to regain his enthusiasm for the fight at least - allowing three knockdowns.
Also the count thing is a bit of trick. There has been a few Americans now getting up at 9 and a half. I don't see the point really it is not necessary to 'save face'. It's boxing, people get stopped.
yes there refs are horrible and bias as is there commentary team
Remember when the British commentary teams were known for their neutrality? When I YouTube fights I usually look for versions with the British crews but in the past year or so they've been getting unbearable. They make hbo sound neutral.
Cant think of much who isnt about that British Stoppage.
***** that pissed me off was the time when the ref jumped in as if he was waiting for the first sign of danger when Calzaghe was throwing those pity pat fkin girly slaps on Manfredo. That was such a gay azz girly combo , it's hilarious how he flail his arms like a fukin broad.
Fuk Calzaghe and his boring azz. One of the most unwatchable fighters.
I'm not nationalistic or anti-Brit (Joey Zaggs is an all time fave of mine) but wow, they have some shyte referees over there. I don't even know if the ref that flubbed the Bellew fight was British but this type of thing is happening quite often over there and usually happens to favor the hometown guy. The fact that the commentary crew just skipped right past it was shameless. Wow. Imagine if the roles were reversed, that's all you'd hear about was the foul, over and over. Flores was an idiot for the way he handled it and deservingly lost but that doesn't take away from the questionable nature of the reffing there lately.
