Now that ortiz is out of GB (which did a good job for him in the first place ) and now with Herns who works alot with Haymon, he wont be ducked as easly anymore IMO ortiz beat 8 out 10 top Heavys
what ya think of ortiz ? And yes he was busted with ped in the past ..but he took vada when he destroyed bryant jennings which is a impressive win
(Question is scott an Al haymon fighter)
People, you all need to look at his boxrec, a year ago he was 24-0 with 20 KO's and ranked #46 or so, just because he never had a hard fight.
Then he fought an over-rated jennings, then 44 years old Tony Thompson.
Thats it.
Why would anyone duck him, and why do you think he could beat anybody in the top 20?
I guarantee you guys like Whyte, Mansour, Breazeal, Chambers, Cunningham, Haye, Chisora, Gerald Washington, Izu Ogonoh, Pulev, Povetkin, Fury, Klitschko, Stiverne, Miller, Briggs, Joshua, Wilder, Parker, Ruiz, etc would love to knock him out. Thats 20 guys in a class Ortiz has never fought.
Ortiz isn't being ducked, he is the one doing the ducking.
A big reason why Ortiz career stalled because he was with HBO/Golden Boy. They were the ones holding him back. Now that he's out from them he'll get his shots. It really is that simple. Ortiz made some good moves that'll help his career. He was likely going to be put on the shelf until he got too old with golden boy.
? Is Malik Scott some kind of neckbeard now?

lol yea, that's why he's fighting malik scott a total bs fight that will end as soon as ortiz hit's malik ' the purple fedora wearing diver' scott.
At least GB actually wanted him to fight a semi decent guy in Ustinov.
Instead of a decent fight he leaves, joins hearn and fights another no hoper.
btw who are the 2 guy's that you think would beat ortiz??

Ortiz is something like 25-0 with 22 KO's.
He fought nothing but tomato cans so far. When he was 18-0 he fought a guy making his pro debut.
Jennings is his toughest test to date, and Jennings is waaaaay better than anyone Ortiz fought.
At least fight and Eddie Chambers or Cunningham to take a step up.
I looked at Ortiz boxrec and I understood why a year ago Ortiz was ranked around #50, then he made a jump to the top ten off nothing but his record - which was against ham and eggers.Just tell me who in nowadays boxing doesn't have a bunch of tomatoes cans in their resume? The guy is been avoided but the top dogs in his division, any Cuban with a little of an amateur pedigree is avoided, plain and simple, they just bring the "high risk low reward" quote...

Im very curious so, Who will be his next opponent after Scott's match? I want to see him against elite class boxers like Povetkin, Klitschko, Haye, Joshua, Parker etc...
I'd be happy to see him fight Mansour, Briggs, Miller, Whyte, Breazale, Gerald Washington, Izu Ogonoh, Ruiz jr, Stiverne, or Haye.
Wow. Wilder is one lucky dude. Got a title shot by beating Scott.
Ortiz is getting way overrated. Yeah he can hit hard but he is slow and getting older.
The WBO is likely going to free up its belt so he'll probably fight for that. The WBC is unlikely as Wilder won't be fighting any live opponents. Hearn isnt going to let AJ go in with Ortiz just yet, especially with the Wlad fight on the table.
I dunno whats going on with the WBA.

Which two do you think he doesn't beat?
I think Ortiz is over-rated. But I'd like to see him fight a guy that wants to fight him.

Then move up and face Povetin, Pulev, Wilder, Joshua, or Klitschko.
Any one of the first 10 guys i mentioned would love to fight Ortiz.
