floyd never fought a slick skilled fighter. you even saw what happened when he boxed against pac. pac was landing clean shots and floyd was having trouble landing. i hate to see what would happen against hopkins who is about 8 inches taller and so much bigger. this is a cherry that cannot be picked for floyd. has to go in the ggg/margarito pile AVOID DO NOT EAT
Pacquaio makes Bhop look like Brandon Rios speed wise; BHOP has historically struggled vs speed fighters was even losing rounds against Oscar; Floyds speed and angles troubles him before he figures out how to touch him and he's no power puncher so he has no kill switch to cut off Floyds lights
I frown upon BHOPS legacy as time passes a lot of picking on Bums, smaller fighters while blatantly ducking boxing biggest match of the generation; 60-40 you get your ass kicked solidified BHOP as a great B class fighter that knew his limitations, and cherry picker....
Floyd lights BHOP up in the later rounds; put speed in front of BHOP he starts looking unorthodox and uncoordinated even vs lesser fighters

Two great fighters and I voted Hopkins by KO. He is even smarter in the ring than Mayweather. At 154 pounds he would be much stronger than Mayweather. He could hurt Mayweather but Mayweather couldn't hurt him. Prime middleweight Hopkins was a good puncher as well as a very tricky boxer. Hopkins is just over 6 feet tall while Mayweather is 5ft. 8 inches tall so I think Hopkins has a good reach advantage as well. Mayweather might go the full distance but I don't see how he could beat Hopkins when Hopkins has so many advantages. Mayweather is a little faster but that wouldn't be enough to win the fight for him. Hopkins was pretty old when he KOed Oscar and he weighed 156 for that fight. I don't think making 154 would be any problem for him. Oscar fought both a prime Mayweather and a past prime Hopkins and I think he would pick Hopkins to win by KO.
Honestly is so hard to say
Mayweather never really face skilled, tall big opponents, nobody like hopkins. Closest was ODH
So we'll never truly know how well he'll fair
Despite the thread title I think this would have to be at a catchweight between 154-160. If that was the scenario, Hopkins by late stoppage or UD, Floyd is conceding too much in terms of size relative to ability.
Mayweather is clearly the better fighter though.
