Name some fights where a less-physically-strong boxer beat up a physically strong guy with a lot of gorilla upper body strength.
Specifically, a boxer -- whose upper body is "sub-par" (according to society's standards) and has small shoulders -- boxing the shit out of a sizable guy who has wide shoulders and more or less looks like a gorilla reincarnated as a human being.
In my professional opinion, the purest definition of boxing is a physically inferior boxer using skill to beat up a bigger and stronger man. Basically using skill to overcome physical disadvantages. Mauricio Herrera comes to mind.
I really want to see Andre Ward vs Adonis Stevenson. Or Mayweather vs GGG. :hitit:

It happens all the time. This isn't wrestling or weight lifting. A boxer doesn't need to be able to lift heavy weights to have speed, footwork, hand speed great boxing skills and punching power. Pacquiao is strong but probably not as strong as Mr. Muscles Tim Bradley. Mayweather is strong but not as strong as Mosley. GGG is strong but Brook can probably lift more weight by looking at his huge arms and shoulders. It's mainly skill, speed and punching power that wins boxing matches and not brute strength.
Almost every win involving Paulie.
Good mention of Sergio vs Jcc jr but Sergio was just a small mw he wasn't lacking in physical attributes. Hell, Sergio's entire mw run could count. Especially the Pavlik and Jr fights. They were enormous.
Same for Ruiz vs Roy Jones. Rjj is a physical freak but he wasnt exactly a real HW. Very impressive either way.
There's Rigo vs Nonito.
Floyd vs Baldomir. Floyd vs Corrales
Abril vs Rios (Im aware Rios won but lets not pretend it wasnt a robbery).
Quintana vs P Will 1
Chris Byrd vs Jameel Mcline was a funny size diff..
Chris Byrd vs Vitali...technically. Lmao
Rigo when he made Leo and Frampton flee 122
Calzaghe beating Lacy. I remember the casuals tipping Lacy because he had a huge upper body compared with Calzaghe's ordinary looking body haha :boxing:
Floyd toyed with him partially becuz of his skills the other partial is due to the fact that Canela was as green as Brussels sprouts!!
I say in some spots Porter was having his way with Keith in their fight and that's just on the physical side minus the control of tempo side!
Montiel when he fought the Welshman Mayweather himself.....Lee Selby!.
Mayweather beating up Canelo. Lara destroying angulo
I would agree if the fight took place at the 154 lb weight class. Alvarez was drained and had no energy to maul Mayweather.
