Why did Devon Alexander do better than Floyd Mayweather vs Marcos Maidana?

it was devon's first fight at WW. he was untested at that weight and look what he did to chino lol. excuses excuses. floyd old tho, floyd old man tho lol. but when the subject about not taking any damage comes up yall like to bring up floyd talking about floyd is a smart fighter for not taking unnecessarily damage in order to have a longer career. marquez was damm near 40 and he knocked out pac lol. This makes no sense. Floyd is retired, Marquez is retired (at least it looks that way). And Marquez was getting pounded right before the KO. I don't care how defensive you are, age catches up with everyone eventually.

People talk **** about guys that clinch but sometimes it's necessary. I remember watching Mayweather vs Hatton and that dude tried to bully Floyd and turn into a brawl instead of a boxing match. Clinching him was a necessity

Devon is physically stronger and a better clincher than Floyd. It was easier for him to out muscle Maidana. Floyd had a lot more trouble, but also had more success landing solid punches against Chino than Alexander did. Devon scored a very wide decision, but still looked less impressive somehow. which maidana fight did floyd look more impressive? the first where he was beat up and recieved a controversial decision or the second where he clinched nonstop and still got clipped hard and badly wobbled?

Fast hands don't do much good if the fast punches miss. Bradley easily beat Alexander and Mayweather is better than Bradley. I think we'd see the difference in levels between them.
