I think its pretty obvious that there is no sort of "story arc", or tournaments, or certain matchups that lead to certain matchups that can keep the viewers engaged over the span of several fights. I think the ratings bear that out......

I would like to see him in top fights, but he seems too psychologically damaged to step up now and is cruising on whatever he can get. The majority of the damage seems to have come from Angel's insistence on fighting Herrera in PR, which almost went tits up as they over reached and had to take several steps back with opponents (The Mighty Salka, Pedersen, Malignaggi-WTF and the rising star that is Guerrero) There is a definite trend to Danny's career at the moment and it will be interesting to see who is added to his stunning resume. DANNY HAS NEVER STEPPED INTO THE RING WITH AN UNDEFEATED FIGHTER! I hope this changes soon as a champ needs to give the prospects the same opportunities as he was given. We'll see....................

it's not a question of being historically significant, it's a question of spike bringing legitimate world championship boxing to basic cable on a regular basis, something the sport hasn't had in many years. not everybody can afford HBO and showtime. many can't even afford digital cable. access to being able to view elite (or premier lol) boxing champions is expanding. there's no denying that the marquee value of these spike cards is a big step up from the basic cable cards that were taking place before PBC. danny garcia won the WBC world welterweight championship live on FOX and will be defending live on spike. MILLIONS are watching boxing now that weren't watching before. how is that a bad thing? our definitions of the word "legitimate" are vastly different it would seem......
