Daniel Jacobs' trainer, Andre Rozier, has gone against Golovkin before when Golovkin stopped Curtis Stevens. This is a crucial advantage that can honestly make or break Jacobs' fight particularly his strategy.
What do you think?
It may be an advantage, but at the end of the day the trainer isn't going to fight, he needs a fighter with the tools to get the job done. Jacobs has a punchers chance and that is all he's got. People getting too excited for this fight, Jacobs is a step up, but he's still a B-level champion who will probably get stretched within 5 rounds, honestly. If you properly study him as a fighter, he makes lots of mistakes, and those mistakes have been exposed by lesser fighters than GGG. He isn't what I would call a typical African American fighter, he isn't very slick, and isn't defensively responsible and that is why he isn't elite.
He has an ok but leaky defensive game, he has looked extremely uncomfortable when dealing with pressure, he uses his legs to get him out of harms way which will make you more tired in a long fight, and he has a questionable chin. If I could list a set of ingredients that GGG absolutely feasts on, it would be the above. He does have hand speed + power, and that gives him an explosive offensive game, that along with his athleticism may cause GGG problems early, and as I said he has a puncher chance in those early rounds.
Stay away form me u gay-ass nigger. And also dont tell me how u are addicted to sticking didlos up your ass too. ok?
P.S. sorry for my grammar because I am licking your mum's anus and deep frying your sister's pussy.
Now u can suck go off others dicks on my ignore list.
That is just rude! F-off
Balance is controlled in the inner ear, so genetics and bone structure play a significant part in the ability to take punches without being knocked down.
Not sure if neck exercises will improve ability to withstand punches.
Someone can also go up in weight to better absorb punches.
It may be an advantage. I never really thought about it like that
I am curious as too what kind of neck exercises Rozier has Jacobs doing. You see FMJ and GGG training with the weight around their neck. This would be great preparation for Jacobs to strengthen his neck to take punches.
that shit doesn't work, if you have a bad chin you have a bad chin, ask khan if you don't believe me

I don't know your experience with boxing but a trainer having experience fighting a common opponent is a huge advantage. Would you score higher on a test that you have seen before and had time to study or a completely original test?
even then, I do not think Jacobs has what it takes to win against Golovkin but a lucky chance.
Maybe if Rozier fights him, lol.
What can he do, all he can do is guess cause his "other strategy with a totally different" boxer did not work.

It will definitely help him curdle GGG's milk.
What I don't understand is not only has Stevens been dropped more than Danny, but he was stopped by a guy that was 19-15 who didn't even train for the Stevens fight before he stopped him.
Secondly, Stevens got dropped and almost stopped by N'dam who is not known for power whatsover.
Stevens was saved by the bell against Jesse Brinkley.
Why was GGG only able to drop him once, but couldn't finish him off like Marcos Primera did? Weird.
His size, his game plan. He shelled up the entire fight took little risk if any at all. That high guard and his lower than usual body GGG had trouble landing the blow he was aiming to land.
Jacobs hasn't that natural awkwardness Stevens had when paired with GGG.
It's a fair point. Danny should be more prepared for the fight than Golovkin.
One thing I never liked about Golovkin is that sometimes he overrides his trainer. Two recent examples - Monroe Jr and Brook. Remember when Golovkin said he was letting Monroe hit him? Sanchez said that it was because Golovkin sometimes loses focus because it's 'so easy to him'. One way or another, I don't think Sanchez approved of that strategy. A trainer never wants to see their fighter take unnecessary punishment. Same thing with Brook, there's no way in hell Sanchez was happy seeing Golovkin absorb that punishment - whether it hurt him or not.
When you compare this relationship to something like Wlad/Emmanuel Steward, or Ward/Hunter, they had nothing but utmost respect for their trainer and never question them during a fight. In a perfect world, that's what you want to see between a trainer and a fighter. The only time the fighter should override the trainer is if he's getting his ass kicked and trainer's advice is obviously not working.
Worked wonders for Khan as well

The funny thing about khan is he's in a neck brace before and after most his fights
Not to say this isn't true, but if it were true, then why did GGG try to stop him in the 2nd round?
This is just me, but somebody that you want to give a prolong beating too, after you drop them off a huge double left hook, you don't follow up with it and try to KO them or get a ref stoppage only in the 2nd round. That's just me.
I can't remember if that's what happened or not but I was just offering that up as a possible reason since he directly addressed that question in that interview (at around the 4:00 mark). Maybe if you've seen his response it might answer your question but either way it is hard to tell, until someone can push him to the limit we don't know how much of what he says is true or exagerration.
the only fighter that i knew for real that would get you off the hook just to keep punishing you and get you out of boxing was Monzón, that guy was an assassin.

Jacobs has to FREAKING CLINCH whenever he is on the ropes and try to keep this fight in the middle of the ring. Its his best option to win. If he gets on the ropes and doesn't clinch or smother GGG he is going to sleep.

If you have a look at the Golovkin vs Lemieux Face off with Max Kellerman, Golovkin mentions that he was slowly punishing Stevens as a way of making him respect boxing because of the comments which Stevens made before the fight. Whether you choose to believe this is a matter of opinion but it is a frightening prospect for any fighter if in fact he was telling the truth.
When it comes to the Jacobs fight, I doubt that we'll see Golovkin use this tactic as I think Jacobs' power is enough for any fighter to respect and not feel comfortable to play around with. I think we will see both fighters trying to take the other out as early as possible and trying to avoid taking as many shots as possible. In other words, we should see the best out of both fighters in this fight, so I expect a knockout.
I just don't see how Jacobs wins this. I still really dig the fight because it's going to be exciting as hell, but how does Danny win? By knockout?
Going into a fight with a punchers chance against a guy with a sturdy chin like Golovkin (who also fights much more conservatively against big punchers) just doesn't seem like good odds to me.
I can't see him winning a decision either, as it would mean he would have had to withstand 12 round of intense pressure. I don't think he's built to take that.
Hard not see Golovkin taking Jacobs out.
If GGG fights conservatively against big punchers I don't think he will bring 12 rds of intense pressure in the form of punch output. Jacobs can box very well and has power. That combination is bad for GGG because like you said he fights conservatively against big punchers. Jacobs would be the biggest puncher he has faced.
I didn't like the way GGG's chin looked in the Brook fight so I don't think Jacobs would have a hard time getting to it. I'm giving Jacobs the edge in this fight. I would say that Quillin and Lemieux are about equal and Jacobs destroyed Quillin in the first round.
Sure, I got that. I was referring to the "outbox GGG" part.
I envision Jacobs earning some respect and earning it early.
My bad, I read that wrong originally. When they said they would be boxing GGG I took that as literally out boxing him.
