What happens to Al Haymon?
What happens to PBC?
What happens to all of his fighters?
The investor's money is going thin and he still doesn't have a major network TV deal...
What comes next?
Does Haymon have a plan B?
Well you just named 3 great fights, of course they will get viewers. More than normal? Who knows. What do the numbers show now? Have showtimes numbers grown since the birth of PBC? I don't think so. And it's not a knock on PBC, it's just the state boxing is in right now
Showtime, in essence, basically gave up the primetime terrestrial cards to PBC for 2016 (Garcia-Guerrero, Spence-Algieri, Ortiz-Berto, Fonfara-Smith, Thurman-Porter, Wilder-Arreola, Spence-Bundu, Stevenson-Williams, Jacobs-Mora II).
You add those dates (and likely a couple of the shows that ended up on SpikeTV/ESPN) to the dates that Showtime did get this year, and you're looking at nearly 20 cards that would've been more than welcome for Showtime Championship Boxing. You add at least another 10 ShoBox: The Next Generation cards, and you've got things back to when a boxing fan can expect to be presented with a fight card on Showtime at least every other week.
With the drought being what it is on HBO, is a fan who has premium cable for boxing really not going pick up a Showtime channel that's giving them fights every week.
If you honestly think that Wilder-Joshua, Thurman-Garcia, Stevenson-Ward, and a host of other possible fights aren't going to draw a larger viewing audience (due to having had fights/faces on terrestrial TV for almost two years), you're delusional.

it will hurt boxing thats the part people who root against pbc i dont get. we will have way more months like this one where there is nothing happening thats why i dont understand so many outlets and fans rooting against pbc
Could you please point to the last **** fight that PBC put on?
What would you like me to mention? Mismatches or prospect builders, which make up 90% of PBC airtime? I really don't have the time to mention all of them so just go on their website and look at the fights they've put on.
Over the span of 2 years they have maybe 3, possibly 4 genuinely competitive fights. Which might sound ok if they were PPV numbers but this is o na show with multiple weekly shows.
On top of all that, the best PBC fighters have fought once a year. :lame:
I suspect that Haymon is a front man for Floyd. So that would make Floyd be Haymon's mystery investor. The reasoning being that Floyd wants to make a ton of money as an investor/promoter. Floyd has limited education so he needs an educated guy like Haymon to handle contracts.
Now Floyd can play both sides of the fence, manage a few fighters and have all the control over Haymon.
I think Haymon is spending Floyds money to own fighters, and Floyd manages fighters and double dips by getting a manager fee plus the profit from promotions.
With all the fighters locked up by Floyd, nobody is gonna make any good fights without Floyds say-so, so TV networks can't show fights without top fighters.
If Floyd isn't Haymon's money man, who is, Oprah? Haymon spent about 300 million locking up all the best fighters. Who else has 300 million, and a desire to monopolize boxing?
wtf did i just read? Are you retarded? lol
Go to showtime
Not with 200 fighters, he'll have to waive 4/5. And then how long is Showtime gonna be happy paying Haymon purses with such horrendous ratings? They've taken a huge dive in the past year, this year their highest rating is a pitiful 500k.
What happens if the deal DOES go through?
Do we get years and years of **** fights and 18 month builds for average match ups?
As much as I disliked the way Haymon ran his boxers, I was initially excited about the idea of a big, US, weekly or bi-weekly boxing show. After the first couple months it was clear this wasn't going to work and we weren't going to get best v best.

All those guys have been on showtime...their ratings are the lowest they've ever been. Boxing is not growing one bit...You know what all that "exposure" did for them? Absolutely nothing....

Is Spence the only Olympian from 2012 fighting in 2016?
No but he's the only one that fought after the Olympic coverage hence his HUGE ratings...
I'm not crapping on PBC, just boxing in general is not growing in the least. UFC has cornered the market on the younger audience.

Most Golovit*ards claim to be white but most of ya'll are just wishing.
Ward had that coward in your Avi ducking like a shell-shocked soldier at a fireworks display:rofl:
You do know that most "vatos" don't even like Golovkin, right?
They're siding with their boy Canelo and I don't have an issue with that. It seems like you do though, De'Trayvon.
oh lord this is precious. some people think a tv deal is still coming wtf have you seen the ratings? they are god awful. except spence when he was on after the olympics but you could put pip farting on a snare drum after the olympics and still do great ratings
Plan B would be things head back to Showtime, with all of that exposure that was picked up over the last 2-3 years, coming back under one umbrella.
Showtime would again have Deontay Wilder, Danny Garcia, Keith Thurman, Adonis Stevenson, Chavez Jr, the coming shakeout fights at 154 and 126, and the continued rise of the young prospects all on their own channel.
Showtime isn't any less invested in the boxing business than they were before PBC (signing the deal for Joshua was a hint for more boxing), so I'd figure that you'd see a return of the triple and quadrupleheader fight cards of the Schaefer era.
Beyond that, you'll likely see the return of 4-6 PPVs each year to the TV schedule (Wilder-Joshua, Garcia-Thurman, Stevenson-Ward, and Jacobs-Saunders being the obvious PPV fights that stand out to me) to gird the schedule and help fill out fights.

Lol....that Plan B sounds literally better than what he has going right now. Sounds much better for us boxing fans too.
I miss those awesome Showtime tripleheaders.
F*ck having to jump around from NBC, NBCS, CBS, FOX, FS1, ESPN, Spike, BounceTV and all that other sh*t just to find a PBC card. Everything back on Showtime would be great, for the fans at least
The longterm plan is not to keep things as scattershot as they currently are; in a perfect world, the main TV deal would go to CBS Corp (CBS/CBS Sports/SpikeTV/Showtime), with Showtime/SHOPPV being the avenue for their pay fights (no different than the UFC's current deal with Fox, where the UFC then gets to keep 12 PPV events every year).
In fact, any final deal is likely going to include a terrestrial TV package with a broadcaster (CBS/FOX/ABC) and a continued partnership with Showtime for the pay fights.
Question is where his fighters would end up in/at. Showtime itself hasn't been producing fights on a consistent basis. Inactivity leads to more tuneup fights. I don't see them taking tough fights after long layoffs.
Al can always go to Estrella TV like your dress-wearing Vato Oscar.:lol1::lol1::lol1:
I'm not Mexican, but feel free to try again De'Tyrone.
You can always take your ass to BET along with Ward. :lol1:
