stuff.co.nz is reporting that Eddie Hearn is having a hard time nailing down Kubrat Pulev for a November fight against Joshua, and that it's looking as if the defence against Parker will be enforced instead.
They are likely to bypass an "introduction" fight of Parker v Price, and go straight to the mandatory title defence.
Parker better hope he comes out of the Dimitrenko fight without any bad cuts.
BRING IT ON!
I thought Parkers team said they wanted another fight before Juiceua.
"Duco Events boss Dean Lonergan said they were ready for a world title shot in November if Parker's mandatory challenge was enforced by Hearn.
He confirmed they had been in discussions with Hearn about the November 26 promotion but described those as "fluid".
"We have been looking at Dimitrenko, then moving into Price and on to Joshua in March. But, if Joshua wants to take us early, we are up for it. We have said that all along and that hasn't changed."
He said there was no thoughts of cancelling the Dimitrenko fight because of the added risks involved if the world title fight was called."
Looks like DUCO has softened their stance, or at least, put aside their "preference".
Quite refreshing to see a camp stepping up to a fight, rather than find a way to NOT fight.
Take notes, Canelo, GGG, Fury etc.
