....Are just hoping that he gets knocked out by a much bigger fighter than him at 168. Is there truth to this statement?
These anti-3G tards who are always bitching and moaning about him needing to move up in weight have to constantly be reminded that the money fights are right where he's at, 160.
There's Canelo, Jacobs, Saunders, Eubank Jr....and so on.
Who is there at 168?
The truth is out.
I want to see him go up to 168 because he'll be able to kick ass and build a legit legacy. No one currently at 168 is knocking him out. Hardcore fans don't seem to have the same faith in Golovkin that I do.
I'd like to see some of those fights i guess, but let's get real. The guy is closing in on the end of his career...he's looking for paydays. Most fighters throughout history who moved up did so because they couldn't make weight anymore or to chase big money fights. Ggg at 34 is not going to suddenly grow into a smw and the money is at mw waiting for canelo unfortunately.
Being "the best" at any division is always relative & influx. Right now anyone who doesn't think GGG is the best guy at 160 I can't trust their opinion on boxing. You can for sure speculate & say that BJS can beat GGG (& I actually think he will) or Jacobs can beat GGG (& I even think he's got a punchers chance), but based on whats been done (not fantasy ****) I don't believe its a reasonable, knowledgable opinion to hold that GGG isn't the best 160lber at this moment in time.
If we just let GGG collect all the belts and clean the MW division before moving up, no one can take that away from him. Haters will say now he should move up, and ten years from now say something along the lines of "I would've favored BJS over GGG" or "I wouldn't be surprised if Jacobs would've beaten him" etc.
Let GGG accomplish what he wants at MW, and if you are true fan of the sport just enjoy the ride, if you wanna see him lose just wait patiently until it happens, but I don't believe a single a soul that says they think moving up for GGG now is in his best interest or better for his legacy.
Who are these 'people'? I've always seen posters on NSB and Golovkin's team talk about 154 for Floyd. 160 was never substantiated by anyone.
Did you see one or two trolls (Floyd haters) call him a coward say he should move up to 160, and extrapolated that to the rest of the population?
some on this sight some on facebook some on dan Rafael chats you my have just past it off but I'm not talk about trolls/(Floyd haters) like Golovkin freedom or huge grant
Cuz his resume sucks and he fights no hopers and MWs? Souns like a legit reason to me.
On topic, I'm not sure when it became a crime to expect a world class boxer to challenge himself. Boxing fans are a weird bunch.
168 is one of the ****tiest divisions in the sport right now, worse than 160, so I'm not sure how it would help his resume.
Surely it has something to do with him barely looking big enough for MW & boxingscene being mostly magical pharaohs.
Why should GGG dare to be great when Floyd never done the same?
GGG has essentially said he will only move up on the same grounds as Floyd and that is for a good payday which would likely be possible against Ramirez, DeGale and a Carl Froch.
We know Golovkin will fight above his natural weight limit and remain there unlike Floyd who only ever moved up in weights because his body could no longer make it then the forced move up in weights against easy opposition who were either past their best or too green or drained in weight to make it possible of happening.
Floyd has dare to be great Floyd in the past that's why he a hall a famer and have a good resume
we don't know if GGG will move up we only can hope we will
maybe you wanted it at 154 but other want it at 160 and said Floyd should do it so he could win the 160 title and dare to be great but now they don't want GGG to move up and dare to be great
not talk what GGG said but people wanted Floyd to move up to 160 instead of 154 and dare to be great

TRUE
boxers only move up in weight when they can no longer make the weight they were used to making, and for $$$. all that "move up for legacy" talk is strictly for the fanboys who never got punched in the face in the ring
none of those options present themselves for GGG at the moment. /thread
So it's about money now?
I thought it was about respecting the sport, collecting belts, and legacy?
If you aren't as dense and stupid as your comment makes it seem, you need to go read the concept of opportunity cost. It can be both about money and belts simultaneously. The only reason GGG has to move up is if he gets "**** you" money. None of the 168 lbs can offer that, so GGG has no reason to move up from his natural weight class. He can make both more name and money sitting in 160 as it is a more luxurious division and with more lucrative offers.
His UK exposure has been successful and he should be making good money against both BJS and Eubank in UK while retaining his belts. Only an idiot would move up in weight when the future in MW is looking brighter.

We wanted the fight at 154lbs it's a weight we know Floyd can make too bad he is too much of a coward to fight him, I think Floyd knew GGG would have KOed him relatively easily shows how good GGG is.

Just to clarify - there was never a conversation about Golovkin vs. Floyd at 160. Golovkin has ALWAYS stated that he would goto 154 lbs for Floyd Mayweather.
No ifs or buts.
not talk what GGG said but people wanted Floyd to move up to 160 instead of 154 and dare to be great
Neither one. People who dislike Golovkin will b1tch and moan about whatever is available. Since he hasn't fought Lara, they'll say that he's ducking Lara, since he hasn't fought Ward, they'll complain about Ward, since he didn't automatically say he'll goto 155 for Canelo, they'll complain about weight, since he didn't move up, they're asking him to move up.. Blah blah.
If he passed on the Brook fight and fought Khurtsidze it would be "he's fighting another MW no name that division sucks btw he ducked Kell Brook who was calling him out. Lil G is afraid of WWs".
They're a bunch of b1tches who need something to whine about. I personally could not care less about what.
^^^^^^^ this
and the same people who wanted Mayweather to dare to be great in fight GGG at 160 don't want GGG to move up at all

The same people that wanted 3G to move up to 175lbs were the same people Ironically saying Mayweather was too small for 154lbs this is what they said to make sure their hero would not fight Erislandy Lara, Floyd ducked Lara and the Cuban boxing school all because of the lies of being too small even though he fought at 154lbs three times before and needed an IV to re-hydrate to make 147lbs for Pacman.
and the same people who wanted Mayweather to dare to be great in fight GGG at 160 don't want GGG to move up at all
So when the guy you like wins, find any way you can to legitimize it. When the guy you like loses, find any way you can to delegitimize it.
So telling the truth about Brook making weight for 160lbs being easy is lies?
159.6lbs weigh-in
170lbs on night of the fight
Cheating is cheating and it should be punished too bad the people testing Floyd don't feel the same way.

One Manny is a midget and isn't big for the weight
Two Kelly isn't a midget and like his trainer and Kell admitted to they've been burning muscle to make 147lbs hence why the progression to 160lbs was an easy one for them to make
Three finally I never once mentioned the weight of Manny/Floyd being an issue what I did however mention was the fact that Floyd was using an illegal masking technique and he used above the recommended usage of an IV in the comfort of his own home and not in a hospital.
So when the guy you like wins, find any way you can to legitimize it. When the guy you like loses, find any way you can to delegitimize it.
