All this irrational hate for Golovkin right now. It's also all coming from the same places which is Floyd and his sycophants. If Golovkin is so terrible, then who would've taken Brook out faster? Floyd Mayweather maybe?
Hahahahaha no but seriously..I don't think Canelo would beat Kell down in 5. Errol definitely not. Maidaina would be interesting but I see Kell winning that one. Jacob's perhaps? I doubt it. Anyone who gets floored by Mora probably would pose a huge plus for Brook at 160. So who? What do y'all think?
I'm not sure, because in boxing all it takes is one punch. But Golovkin did a terrible job trying to finish Kell off when he was hurt. He abandoned the body, abandoned the game plan, and was swinging like he had one too many beers and got into a bar fight. There was nothing methodical about it.
I guess in the end, he got the job done so it doesn't really matter but he could've possibly got a first round stoppage if he had fought a little smarter. Imo.
Had GGG boxed him behind the jab the fight would have been over in 3-4 but he got wild. He wanted to ko him better than Canelo did khan and he failed
:haha::haha::haha:
Kell was hurt by Shenchenko...a guy Malinaggi destroyed.:lol1:
Carson Jones beat him around the ring.
Beat him around the ring I believe he was undefeated
No you don't. Otherwise you wouldn't have made this pathetic thread based on your obviously hurt feelings. You're no better or different from the delusional "sycophants" you're complaining about.
Golovkin did what he had to do. No shame in that. But if you're expecting no criticism (for a shi t fight) when every other fighter in history has been critisized, then you better pull up your skirt and thicken your skin.
Alright, once again..
I'm not trying to say criticism shouldn't be warranted at Golovkin.
I'm saying that a lot of the most morbid criticism's are coming from one particular area. That is TBE fans seething everytime Golovkin is mentioned. Nobody wants to address it or admit it. Floyd Mayweather and his sycophants have an irrational hate towards Golovkin that is completely irrational. I completely understand someone criticising Golovkins not technically sound performance as not being anything great. I don't care at all if Golovkin wins or loses. I was actually pulling for Brook in this fight. I'm just making the point that the popular culture in American boxing which I guess you'd say is very much influenced by Floyd, hates Golovkin just as much as Americans hate Floyd
Since when is a 5th round TKO not a good thing? Your "man" TBE got embarrassed by Marcos Maidana of all people. Amir Khan put more damage on Marcos in one round then Money May in 24 rounds. Sad!
Since when was Maidana two weight divisions smaller than Floyd?
Your hero was embarrassed by a welterweight. You'll get over it eventually.
Nobody said Golovkin is the "great one" or my great one for that matter. I usually leave that kind of delusional demagoguery to Floyd J. Mayweather fans. I'm not saying at all that Golovkin doesn't deserve to get criticized. What I am saying is people that are a formal fan of "TBE" are trying to write him off and close the book on a "overhyped" "bum" that is hardly average.
How does Canelo take out Kell in 6 when he went life and death with war torn after thought Miguel Cotto

I agree, the GGG we saw swinging wildly is not the normal composed guy we see when he gets someone in trouble. Seemed he wanted to really end it early and was a bit out of control. In the end he broke the guys face and stopped him before the fight even was half over so it didn't matter but he did look a bit sloppy in there at points
Since when is a 5th round TKO not a good thing? Your "man" TBE got embarrassed by Marcos Maidana of all people. Amir Khan put more damage on Marcos in one round then Money May in 24 rounds. Sad!
First of all, Maidana clearly lost twice, and second of all, Maidana fought in the same weight class and actually outweighed Floyd by 17lbs on fight night.
Tell me what weight class Brook campaigns at again?
Tell me what was the size diffence on fight night?
Yeah, I thot so.
The standards for GGG are so High, just like they were foir PAC before him.
Nelo couldn't stop old ssm so he's noit stopping brook.
GGG stopped brook and people look at the negatives?
Canelo probably goes the distance with Brook. It wouldn't be about who is the better fighter, it's about styles. GGG is a hunter pressure fighter and Canelo is a counter boxer puncher
God...again..I'm not saying in any way, shape or form Golovkin put on a stellar performance as compared to what he's capable of. I actually looked forward to this fight because Kell is a big Welterweight with the tools and size that puts him in a better position to make a competitive fight over every other Welter. Of course it was a long shot, why would Kell not get beat down by Golovkins power? But I thought the combination of speed and power would give him a chance to really throw the kitchen sink at him. He did what he could but ultimately it was a mismatch and couldn't compete. Brook did come in as a healthy middleweight however. It wasn't like Marquez moving up as a career featherweight to fight Floyd at Welterweight, grossly undersized. Even with Khan vs Canelo, Canelo was massive compared to Khan. But yes, obviously Kell hasn't fought someone at 160lbs before and that in itself is a fair cop out because this was a lose lose situation in terms of looking for a victory. Mad respect for Kell taking this fight and committing the way he did in the ring.
So Floyd, who has never come in above 150 on fight night, was too big for Marquez, who weighed 148lbs on fight night, but somehow GGG was not too big for Brook?
Oh gosh I think I just puked my stomach out, your hypocrisy is so disgusting.
Ps. Marquez was p4p 2 when Floyd fought him, can you tell me what rank Brook was p4p?
trout was a very good fighter himself. do you just read blogs or actually watch the fights? trout apart from that knock down with canelo did VERY well for himself. trouts only 2 losses are against lara & canelo. has brook ever faced lara or canelo? no. you know what would happen if he faced lara? knocked out of the ring. canelo? knocked out of the ring. how can u knock cotto for losing to a fresh trout & say thats the reason why cotto would lose to brook. cotto is a higher quality fighter then brook. period point blank. cotto is use to fighting naturally bigger guys then brook. period point blank. brook wasn't even proven the best of his class at welterweight before fighting golovkin. it's levels to this and cotto is of a much higher level then brook. you are all over the place my friend.
Cotto lost to Trout and would lose again to him. Trout almost beat Canelo which was his best almost win. But if I were to put Kell Brook and Miguel Cotto in the ring at 154 at this point in time, I'd completely side with Brook for a close UD or SD. Cotto isn't the same guy that beat Mosley and Judah. IMO he'd get demoralized with a combination of exhaustion and accumulation of a constant sharp attack. I'm not saying he wouldn't win some clear rounds and lay some damage on Brook but I don't see Brook whilting. I see Cotto whilting to a degree that would be acted on by Brook. An unbiased opinion would say that it would be a toss up. Personally I think Brook would get the W
:lol1::lol1::lol1:
This sounds like someone clutching at straws because his hero looked awful against a man two weight divisions smaller.
Since when is a 5th round TKO not a good thing? Your "man" TBE got embarrassed by Marcos Maidana of all people. Amir Khan put more damage on Marcos in one round then Money May in 24 rounds. Sad!
Of course Cotto is more accomplished then Brook but Cotto hasn't been the same fighter since he got beat down by Margs, plaster or no plaster. Whether its getting beat to a pulp by Pacquiao or embarrassed by Trout, Cotto hasn't had the level of finesse and success like he used to. Canelo should have been able to get Cotto out of there especially considering his huge size advantage.
I agree Golovkin is shooting himself in the foot complaining about wanting the best fights with opponent A while passing up opponent B and signing time and again with opponents C and D. I still think Golovkin would be a fool to abandon 160 and campaign at 168 where the same problem of ducking is likely to continue. Maybe things have changed but I remember a year ago Groves suggesting Golovkin just stay at 160. Not to mention all the other 168 guys who are calling him out (I think Regale and Froch did for a second) probably have no real intention to fighting him. This all excluding Ward. I could be wrong but Golovkin really backed out of that one. It's the same people saying he should move up to 168-175 that are calling his middleweight presence as a joke and nothing there to garner respect.

I'll tell you why i think marquez was a better win for mayweather vs brook for golovkin at this point even though i don't really counter ether. but I'll tell you why the marquez win is much much better then brook. marquez was p4p number 2. mayweather was on a lay off. marquez had just outbox (in my opinion) the number one guy in the sport in pac. also marquez went on to show his worth at 147. it remains to be seen what brook can do at 160.
kell had the wrong gameplan in my mind. leonard tried to tell him what to work on. speed, stamina, constant movement. work and train for 15 rounds. speed and movement. kell was more focused on his thighs looking big. kell didn't fight golovkin different vs his any other fights really. and he needed different against golovkin. he thought coming in bigger would be enough......
Yea I think after the fight wore on him not being able to keep up what needed to be done to go punch for punch, he started to going with a rope a dope type approach focusing on letting Golovkin flail his shots. The problem was standing still and covering up is what did him in so fast. Just to much power he got hit with to recover
because that cotto is better & stronger then brook. cotto had been fighting at 154 so he's use to fighting naturally bigger guys. cotto is disgustingly underrated on these forums. also his only 2 stoppages are to marg (who very well may have used plaster) and to pac. but the pac stoppage he certainly could have made the distance in that 12th and final round. it was just the refs decision to stop it. even cotto protested that 12 round pac stoppage. cotto and brook are not the same......cotto is of a much higher quality.
people who are trying to write golovkin off? who are these people? for me i want to continue to see him fight. take on bigger challenges. move up if u can't get anyone at 160. in realty he had no business even being in this fight. if he wasn't in this fight he wouldn't have even gave himself the opportunity to look bad against brook. when u look bad against someone like brook it amplifies everything because brook is a welterweight. like roy jones jr. said "don't come to me asking me what should golovkin do about opponents because I'm gonna tell you the truth. if they won't fight u at middleweight you go up and find one. I'm not telling you something that i wouldn't do myself, you have to go up and find one"
thats old school boxing talk. how boxing should be. u guys are use to babying triple g. enough is enough at this point.

I'm really not sure If anyone else would stop him I don't see Thurman hurting him.. I think Spence could KO him but Brook would likely be damaging himself to make 147...
If the fight with Spence and Brook was made at 154lbs I think Spence might win but he might not necessary get a KO.
you see this is what pisses me off. it doesn't matter what brook came in as. he doesn't have experience fighting middleweights. he's a welterweight fighting other welterweights. he doesn't have middleweight experience. that in it's self means more then actual weight. it was absolutely nothing special about a brook win at middleweight. i wouldn't even be impressed if andy lee got a brook win at middleweight. or even mora. you think I will be impressed by golovkin being pushed by brook & then eventually abandon all gameplan to impose his size and strength? something that we already knew could happen going into the fight? i give brook the credit for even making golovkin throw out his entire game plan to say "hey, this guy is out boxing the life out of me in spots. i must throw away everything and use size" thats pushing golovkin.
even golovkin rated his own performance a 4 out of 10.
