My thoughts on Danny Garcia

Any update from the Garcia camp?

It's getting harder and harder to defend Danny. Still think he has lots of potential at 47'. I'm not sure if his ppl feel the same way though. Tell you this much; if he fights Molina, I'm adding him to my sig :439:

He is an over achiever just like Froch, neither are particularly good at anything. Both have/had good chins and good power. As a person I like Danny 1000 more than Froch though, seems like a cool kid and smart with his investments.

If Thurman vs Garcia can't be made now when both are available, I doublt it will ever be made at any time in the future.

Any announcement from Garcia yet?

Danny really dropped the ball after the lucas fight, should have gone after floyd instead of saying he wasn't ready. Now that career high payday is gone. I thought danny got moved along perfectly in his career till that point. He went from prospect beating faded names like morales, Judah, holt, Campbell, and then took 50/50 fights with khan and lucas. But since then, he has just been sputtering around and has lost all the hype he had after beating khan and lucas The guy isn't percieved as a p4p guy even though he is undefeated and has beaten Campbell Holt Judah Morales twice Khan Peterson Lucas Ghost Pauli That's a lot of big names to have on a resume, but danny seems to be wasting it

Assuming Danny Swift Garcia's next fight is announced today, the fight will likely happen in December. The one fight a year status is achieved! Way to go Haymon fighters.

I have mixed feelings about him. I like him as a fighter very much, but I also hate him because he's constantly favored by the scoring judges and he was gifted 2 or maybe 3 fights that he didn't deserve to win. EDIT: In fact I forgot to mention the main reason I hate him is because he became a cherry picker. His resume is overrated kind of like Floyd's because he won against most of the bigger names when they were past their primes (Morales 2 times, Judah, Holt, Cambel) except Matthysse who I like very much but but was never a an A level fighter. However it was a great win and I must say he impressed me the way he fought the second half of that fight. I saw him for the first and the last time doing what he should - he used his feet very well. It made me think he's capable of boxing smart but he may not have a high ring IQ to do it often. Oh in fact he showed some good counter-punching and movement against Guerrero but only IN SPURTS. If he wasn't that cement footed he may be much better, he reminds me of Canelo in that way. Please don't go off topic, thanks. Danny is very industrious as a mid range hooker, but he doesn't hold a jab whatsoever...

He rose to prominence when he beat a shot Morales. That's when everyone saw father and son cry together. It was a huge win for them. Sure, Khan and Matthysse were bigger wins for the father and son team. BUT Khan was already beaten by Prescott and Peterson. Matthysse had loses against Judah and Alexander. Can't he fight someone who no one has beaten yet?

His advisors are getting him lesser fights for a bunch of money and he is going along with it. He needs to fight a prime fighter or not he will continue to drop his stock. Its time to face a Broner, Porter or any other young gun on the rise

I like your comparison to canelo. He does remind me a lot like canelo. I don't dislike him I just don't rate him highly and I question his motives. I mean his last fight was in January and nothing announced nothing about fighting the best. He shoudnt have declined the Pac offer too. That was a once in a liftetime chance. Not sure where his career is going cause if you would of asked that question 3 years ago people would of say hes the next Puerto Rican superstartar and now what is he? I was one of those people who thought Matthysse would kill him in like 6. I was also one of the people who came forward and said "holy schit, I was wrong. Enjoying my crow." However since then he hasn't done jack. I'm of the belief that he fights one level above his opponents so he doesn't look amazing when he fights low level guys but he is a talented boxer. However his opposition just leaves so much to be desired. And the worst part is it's not even like he's an avoided fighter, he just seems fine fighting the 2nd tier and getting paid.

No more Paulies and Guerreros. He is now accustomed to WW. I wouldn't mind a Khan rematch either, Khan might last longer this time.
