I personally would like to see it. I know Spence would be a big favorite and is bigger. However Spence doesn't smother his punches like Maidana and Porter. He would hit Broner alot form the mid range. However Spence got hit alot against a guy like Bundu. Broner is a good counter puncher when he lets his hands go and is sturdy. He also has more power than many think. Yeah He put down Porter and we all know Porter was weight drained coming in at 144. So he can crack a little. However This kind of fight would get more people watching and get a good win on Spence's resume. Broner's fights usually do well on TV, so it would help Spence's profile. I wonder what the prefight circus would be like . ? How would Spence respond to Broner's talk and antics?
Spence reminds me of Broner in terms of hype, 3 years ago Broner had the hype Spence had, once Spence steps up to a Maidana type guy he'll be exposed too. This guy almost got knocked out by Emmanuel Lartei.
I don't know man, Spence is waaayyyy more versatile than Broner. I do think the hype being placed on him is pretty outrageous right now, I mean maybe in time he'll more than deserve it all...but as of the moment it's way over the top.
But I don't really see a Broner comparison at all. I know you're not comparing their skill set per se, you're just talking in terms of hype -- but still. Spence is like a 5 tool player in baseball. He has all the tools. Elite potential in those tools, too. Broner was just a solid counter puncher with power at LW who feasted on completely overmatched opposition.

I can't disagree with that.
If you go back on this forum 3 or 4 years, you will see the same threads about Broner as we're seeing about Spence now.
What is ppls fascination with wanting to see Broner get beat up?
In all likelihood it's probably a one sided beating, true. But Broner's still a tougher fight than Algieri and Bundu (especially Bundu).
Broner should not be at 147.
Porter, Thurman, Garcia, Khan, Brook, Spence would beat him decisively.
He's on the level of Guerrero/Berto to be honest.
He should join a PROPER team, not those yes-men he is currently with and clean up his lifestyle and try and stay at 140 as long as he can. Back in 2012 the world was his. Now we know he can't handle pressure well, has slow feet and has low punch output. A damn shame. We have too many good guys in the Sport, Broner would have made a great heel at the top of WW if he made the right decisions back then.
AB would have zero shot at winning it by decision, so he'd have to swing for the fences. Look, we love to clown on the dude, and deservedly so, but he's still dangerous. If you get lazy for a second AB can drop and hurt you. The Porter fight is a prime example.
And the lead up would be fantastic. Broner's such a massive sh*t talker, and seeing him in a heavy underdog role would be fascinating.
From a pure entertainment standpoint I think it would be f**king great.
Can you guys at least come up with fantasy fights that have better chances of happening?
How about Spence vs Collazo, for instance? Spence vs Guerrero, etc. I'd accept Spence vs Peterson, if you ask me.

I think that fight would be a total mismatch. Broner showed in both his loses that he can't handle a boxer who comes at him hard with a two fisted attack and has hand speed and punching power. That is exactly how Spence would come at him and Spence is sharper than Porter or Maidana. Broner wouldn't last long at all. Broner is way too small for welterweight anyway. He could probably do better at 135 if he trained hard and watched his diet but he is not a dedicated boxer at all.
