Stunning :hail::hail:
If I had to pick one thing I hated the Cuban govt for, it would be that they wont let this kid go pro.
Fuk him and his gay country
F you!
Lot's of great people in Cuba you ignorant fu ck.
At least they can read and have a better education that what you got MF
You make a good point but out of all those guys he arguably has the most fan friendly style well him and Ortiz imo.
Gamboa was exciting too but he had alotta holes in his game.
I don't think fans care about style. I think it's a matter of headlines and personality. The richest athlete in sports doesn't have a crowd pleasing style. But he can make headlines on TMZ.
Robert will have a tough time being promoted without a country behind him or the ability to crossover.
Teofilo beat almost every fighter of the 80's era of talented but lazy heavies.
The lazy heavy tag should go to the pros but in the ams, there were a tonne of good American heavies who actually looked to be in shape and fight with heart. Then add in the Soviet block nations and their pedigree too, let's not forget that. Teofilo was outstanding.
People tell him to turn pro but after seeing how the pro game treated Rigo, Gamboa, Lara, Abril, Ortiz, etc. what does he have to gain?
These dudes are inactive and can't get enough fans to support them. If he's happy where he is let him be.
From what I've read, many Cuban amateur fighters are nicely compensated for staying loyal to Cuba. Obviously not the riches of the pro game but a good living, problem is, pro sports money is huge...then again these guys have to sacrifice family and home. Will Ramirez do that?
The boxing enthusiast in me would love him to try and do something that Teofilo did. 3 Olympic golds, 3 world champ golds and 2 at the Pan Am games. Ramirez is fighting in a weaker division to Teofilo's heavyweight divisions at the time but it would be remarkable.
Great achievement but he impresses me about as much as Zou Schming did.
Schiming's am record is unbelievable, but as a fan of pro style boxing, Ramirez impresses me more.
Schiming was always a bit of a tip tapper suited to the points per punch system, ramirez has much more about him imo.
Also benefitted from some interesting scoring if i remember rightly
If he stays Amateur he could go for gold 2 more times easy. Shakur didn't get the full dosage Ramirez was a bit tired earlier than usual he got to that gold podium the hard way especially the last guy probably zapped him. But still he recovered enough juice to handle Stevenson who was great himself. It was fun to see the Cuban egging the other guy on to hit him :lol1: nice change.
I thought Obama was supposed to be sorting this sh*t?
Problem is that Cuba is run by 90 year old men with communist values and they dont want change and theyre very patriotic, so aslong as they are alive, democracy in Cuba will not happen
And Obama isnt doing sh1t3, hes just a mere puppet, one of the worst presidents of USA, only reason people like him is because hes black
He is a great one no doubt, I think a 3rd Gold Medal 2020 is very likely when he will be even more seasoned and only 26 years old still. Of Course I would love to see him as a PRO but probably not likely unfortunately.
