Honestly bro, the real kryptonite to Kovalev is Beterbiev. If Kovalev ain't careful, he will get KO'd. He has to box him well or KO him before Beterbiev does! His name would be in the hat, he'd be up there. But I don't think he'll beat Ward, and if he did I bet Stevenson would still duck him. Ward has absolutely no chance against Kovalev, or Beterbiev or Stevenson, or maybe even Umar Salamov. Ward will go back to 168 seeing stars, or back to the commentary booth.

He and his team walked away from the purse bid for the Stevenson fight. He presumably would do same with Bieterbiev. I doubt if he fights either. If he beats Ward, as long as it isn't a robbery or a DQ, he will see his stock go up IMO.

I have never had a written down list of the of all the great fighters in history carefully rated in order from the best to the 30th best or the 50th best. If the truth be told I'll bet nobody on this board has such a list. I think he is one of the best light heavyweights I have seen but there have been some great light heavyweights and he is not up with them yet. If he does everything you said then he would be right up there with the very best of them to me.

^Agreed. My only complain right now is not with the man himself, but the fact that people elevate his resume too highly (Pascal and Hopkins were faaaarrr past prime). But, I don't hold that against Kovalev and I'm just waiting for him to show what he's truly capable of. Beating the current best at 175 says a hell of a lot to me. Point is, Brand is a nobody... Past it, took the fight for 30k and lasted the whole fight also landing some. Barrera and smith gave Ward some trouble and they're awful.
