The Next PPV Star is???

Not 100% true as the undercard for the Canelo vs. Cotto fight i believe is the reason why they didn't break a million. more often then not all of the big selling PPV fights had solid undercard fights. with known world champions on the card.

I think Canelo vs. GGG Could come close if not get it. Nope. Undercards don't help much. Been proven. Casuals make up 90% of ppv buys, higher % the bigger the fight. You're lucky if they know both of the main event guys let alone undercarriage guys. Canelo needed floyd to break a million If canelo can't break a million with cotto, then I don't see any other opponent currently around that he could break a million with. Canelo vs thurman, ggg, charo, lara 2, saunders, Eubanks, cotto 2, Brook, bradley, Maidana, etc.. None break a million buys I think Canelo vs. GGG Could come close if not get it.

He is easily one of the most recognizable faces in the game and he appeals to the casual fan... Do i think he is top 10 P4P Hell noooo. But he appeals to the casual fan the same way Floyd appealed to the casual fan. Fans now a days want story lines, and AB gives people story lines and he is already controversial so all publicity for him is good publicity. and he proved that breaking a record his last fight. Do i think he is a best boxer absolutely not but he knows how to put on a show.

I see no PPV star on the horizon. Honestly, I see boxing drifting away from PPV because numbers will be poor. There's no way in hell a Canelo, Joshua, Wilder, Crawford, Ward, etc. sells 1 million+PPV sales. Those days are gone for awhile.

They were legit fights, not the biggest names, but deserving unification fights. All fighters pretty much in their prime.. Combined they should have been able to surpass tyson-mcbride PPv I still can't agree on that one... Tyson is a PPV icon bro and a american icon which boils over outside of sports... He is pretty much why PPV is PPV till this day... Crawford is barely known to the casual fan, GGG is barely known to the casual Fan... and the guys they fought were barely known to even most hardcore fans. Not to mention people ordered Mcbride vs. Tyson knowing it would be Tyson's last fight. It's not fair to compare them. Not only that but it was there first time headlining PPV's.

None of those were their biggest fights... Evander broke a million vs tyson and Lennox and foreman. Oscar broke million vs vargas, tito, floyd, manny Cotto was the biggest fight for canelo, the sports biggest star.. If canelo ain't breaking a million with a guy like cotto (that's broken a mil before with floyd n manny) then something's wrong with the sport in America.. Biggest fight in boxing with the biggest star in boxing should break a million everytime Canelo's biggest fight was Mayweather which is why it sold 2.2M , and Cotto's biggest fight was Mayweather which sold 1.5M and then Pacman which sold 1.25M. and Oscar and Vargas didn't break a million it sold 935k.

Just saying how far PPv starpower has dropped.. An old shot tyson vs a nobody like kevin mcbride outdraws Golovkin and crawford combined.. Not a good sign for the health of american boxing but also crawford and GGG fought nobodies themselves.

Oscar and Mayorga didn't a million, Mayweather and Hatton didn't break a million, Mosley and Oscar didn't break a million Bowe and Holyfield didn't break a million for either fight. Pacman and Hatton... etc. the list goes on bro... 900k is quite a success if you asked me especially with a undercard of only one world champ who has never fought in north America and only 1 fight in south america. Mike Tyson is #2 all time in PPV fights... If Floyd never took off Mike Tyson would be #1... So its kind of hard to compare the 2... Just saying how far PPv starpower has dropped.. With Floyd retired and not looking like he will be returning. Who will be the next guy to consistently sell big PPV Numbers. My first opinion would be AB as long as if he can finally win a couple of big fights... He has the flash, the ****iness, he is very entertaining outside the ring and can show flashes of great knockout power. however if he takes anymore big losses he is the next Zab Judah/Mayorga. Canelo could also take the spot as the next PPV king but i believe if he doesn't fight GGG soon then he will lose credibility. Also, GGG can do it he just needs to fight more credible fighters. And don't forget Wilder. Whats your take? HELL NO, AB had his chance. People have been saying this for years, but he stays losing fights, not making weight, looking unimpressive and going to jail. Dude will never headline a PPV unless its a pacquiao or floyd fight

Broner won't be able to win really big fights. He isn't all that good and he lacks the discipline and dedication to improve. Mayweather was an intelligent likable villain who could fight his ass off. Broner is a stupid, disrespectful and hateful villain who has been soundly thrashed in his two biggest fights and often doesn't bother to make weight. Spence Jr. seems like a much more likely fighter to become a big star if he is as good as I think he is.
