He was signed to fight Pirog in 2012 when GGG was still an unknown. Pirog had mad skills. They would have a great match up. GGG has gone after all the belt holders. I don't blame Martinez for not fighting him but I do think Cotto and definitely Canelo should have fought GGG. Instead they paid step-aside-money or dropped the belt!?! WTF? If GGG was a punk-ass nobody with no skills they would have taken him on and exposed him. They didn't. As for Ward. Didn't Ward want the fight to be 18 months and 3 fights later? Really? Sounds like bull**** to me. I favor GGG over everone from 154-168 except for Ward. Who now is a light heavy and hasn't fought at 168 for what? 3 years? Still. You may not be a GGG fan but he is a legitimate Middleweight champion. I think the best Middleweight since prime Hopkins. Does that make him an ATG? No. But he's not fighting bums (except for that last mandatory, which was a joke.)

His confidence comes from fighting guys he knows he can beat. He'll fold like a beach towel the second a doubt crosses his mind...just like Mike Tyson. You talk like GGG has never had a tough fight or taken a hard punch in his life. The guy won 345 out of 350 amateur fights, Olympic silver and world championship gold medals, has never been stopped in his life, and he would have started his amateur career as a rank novice, the same as anybody else. You don't compile a record like that by folding as soon as a doubt crosses your mind.

GGG uses combination punching to break down his opponents. He can get the KO pretty much anytime if he puts the heat on it but he punches with a very high level of power on every punch regardless of whether he is trying to knock you out or not, that it only takes a few solid combinations to make make you hit the deck. Since Brook has the biggest name, best record, most fans, etc. of any boxer that he has faced so far, GGG will be more prepared than when he was fighting Lemieux. Add that to the fact that Brook is moving up in weight to make 160 and I just can't see Brook lasting long at all. I admire the confidence and think he will have some moments, however, I can easily see, him getting dropped by a GGG jab. Not trying to be sarcastic, it's just GGG's power will leave Brook shellshocked after the first solid jab landed....any punch really. That fear will render him cautious, once GGG sees that, it's over. Brook gets trapped along the ropes and the body punches will ravage him, the left hook sends him down....early 3rd round.

We shall see..nothing wrong with being a confident athlete..
