So PBC of FS1 averages 150,000 to 200,000 viewers while paying $150k in purses.
Crawford-Postol just did 62,000 buys with nearly $2 million in purses.
Yet somehow PPV is good for the boxing industry according to some idiots?
Isn't that even more pathetic that the cheapest PBC show got almost 3 times the viewership of a more "known" event?
you just dont get it, right?
sorry cant keep talking to a wall!
I'm outta here!
You would never see a Crawford/Postol fight if all anyone could offer a fighter was 150,000 viewers on FS1. No one on that channel is making any money like those two did.
Because 1)Showtime and their relationship with Haymon still gives them the space to buy the fights that they want and 2) the final PBC deal will likely end up with Showtime/CBS anyway, with Showtime being the avenue to maximize the revenues on the biggest possible fights (no different than the UFC's deal with FOX, though I doubt Haymon angles for even 3 PPVs a year).
In case you missed it, Wilder, Danny Garcia, Adonis Stevenson, and Adrien Broner have all had fights outside of Showtime this year, with other bouts already being talked up for August/September and beyond.
Keep on with the hate if you want.
Right but the other guy was saying Sho was sh1t cause their ratings are so much worse than HBO.
Why are so many higher priced Pbc fighters on sho then?
That'd be meaningful if they were doing good ratings for their timeslot but they're usually last and theyve been trending down from the beginning

$2.3m in publicly disclosed purses for the show, plus the cost of renting out the MGM Grand, in addition to the cost of simply running the promotion for the event likely means that Top Rank lost their ass in the fight.
Yep.
Somehow when Top Rank puts on a horrible event with horrible viewership while losing money and charging fans $70... some retarded fans try to defend it.
When PBC does 3 million+ in peak viewership with a good card... these same retards cry about PBC losing money.
It's amazing!
I never defended top rank

That's why FOX, CBS, NBC, ESPN and Spike are the best networks for PBC. Great potential
SHO is Garbage. They should go away too just like HBO.
CBS, FOX smoke HBOS peak viewership in multiples.

62k x $50= 3.1 mil,,, minus 50% to distributers leaves about 1.5 mil. Plus tickets sales and international rights, and sponsors this fight generated probably 3-4 million.
Does anyone know the ticket gate? Seemed to be a good crowd

Again with this stupid comparison?
One on free tv and the other on Hbo plus on ppv...cant compare them...and of course, please tell us the source of all those numbers you are giving, so we can check it out.
Besides, you are comparing one of the cheapest pbc events against a more "known" event.

It was 1.3m+ for the Ggg Wade mismatch, but Hbo is in like 1/4 of the homes. Apples to apples is Hbo and Sho, and Hbo smokes them all the time, even prorated. What's Sho top rating this year?

prove it. dont just make assumptions and pass them on as facts.
hate dudes who talk out their ass.
If you are too stupid to know how these figures are generated... what can I do? LOLz
Uhhh... Thurman-Porter peaked at 4 million viewers.
Guerrero-Garcua peaked at 3.5 million viewers.
What was the peak for HBO boxing this year?

But yet TC is about as popular if not more popular than Thurman and Porter... Problem with PBC is the same viewers that pay for HBO are the same that watch the big fights on PBC. The same viewers that view FS1 are the same hardcore fans that have watched free boxing on Telemundo and Telefutura for years. And the 62k that viewed TC vs Postol all probably have an account on boxingscene. If you dont get my point, boxing (all networks) have failed (including pbc) to appeal to casuals.

Ufc has a 94 million dollar network deal. Let's say PBC can get a 50 million deal. Ppv is not the answer, seeing if 5 million could be payed for say Thurman vs Garcia is the answer.
Alright so maybe they'll top out at 2.5m. In your all roses scenario. Those UFC guys, don't they get paid peanuts on fox?
Ummm no.
Sponsorship didn't break $100k that is for damn sure. International TV would have been lucky to see $100k.
Live gate was under $800k. At most this fight generated $2.5 million in net for Top Ranks side. This was horrible viewership and exposure for boxing next star.

SBJ projects that FOX will pay $400 million a year starting in 2019.
