Tyson literally threw everything but the kitchen sink at him, but he seemed unfazed. Tyson was also older and heavier after prison, so it's safe to say that he was physically stronger in that fight than in pre prison fights/
So what gives? How was Holyfield able to withstand all of that punishment and keep coming forward?
ALL fighters work on their neck muscles because it helps them take shots...if you don't know that then you should go back to your cave.
I'm curious how it matters when guys don't take shots to the neck? It's just Tyson fanboys trying to diminish the fact that Tyson couldn't hurt Evander.

I actually thought he was joking at first because it was too goofy to think anyone really believed that.
One thing about Holyfield haters, they're one note.
tyson landed a body shot to the lower part of his stomach took the wind right out of evander followed with a uppercut combination that wobbled him backwards. evander had to hold on afterwards. skip to 1t6:35 legit hurt......END/THREAD
evander just had a big heart........& roids. sorry but it's the truth. the guy was bloated with that crap in his system
Another thing is Holyfield wasn't intimidated by Tyson. Tyson relied a lot on intimidation factor with opponents, but when faced with elite opposition not afraid of his power and explosiveness, Tyson became the smaller man, literally and figuratively speaking.
As Don Turner told Holyfield during the first fight: 'You're the bully in here. He ain't the bully'.
Several factors involved. First Holyfield had a real good chin, a ton of heart and great recuperative powers. Additionally Holyfield was able to stay in the inside smothering many of Tyson's punches. Holyfield spent hours sparring with David Tua to prepare for the fight.
very true. both holyfield and tyson along with roy jones are thought to have used roids back in the day
tyson didn't use them......but holyfield and roy did. roy used them as he was tired old and refused to believe he had aged. holyfield used them going up to heavyweight.
tyson is the only 1 out of the bunch to have not used roids. done a ton of coke but no roids. hollyfield was roided to the gills in that tyson fight. also mike did hurt him people. he caught him with a uppercut that badly wobbled and shook evander to the boots.
Holyfield had a great chin, a solid defense and a sharp boxing brain. You couldn't one-punch KO him. Tyson never landed enough successive shots to put him away. If he had worked the body more, like he did in the fifth round, he might've had a chance. But instead it was Holyfield who wore him down, taking the steam and will from Tyson round by round. There was a moment in the 10th I believe when Tyson landed a monster right and I was impressed by how Evander remained upright. Soon after, the fight was over.
Holyfield was a beast...nuff said!
Nah,if you watch his fights, the man was unreal, literally out on his feet, idk,a dozen times,at least, and came back like the wrath of God.
He had an unworldly chin. Look at the Bowe fights and the Lewis fights. He took monstrous shots and very rarely ever got hurt.
^This. Unreal how Bowe thundered on him and Evander stayed in there like something out of a Rocky film.
Tyson had decent power, but not outstanding one-punch KO power for a HW. He looked like a monster KO'ing C level opponents but he failed every time he came up against A graders.
