Gradovich and Avalos look to be his best wins. Taller fighters. But yeah, would be nice to see him against a good tall rangy boxer in the future to get a gauge on him. Lee Selby is 5 8 1/2 maybe that would be a good test for him sometime soon?
Definitely be an interesting fight. I feel Selby is the best coached fighter in the division so it would be good seeing Selby getting more fights.
He was already damn good when he made his debut, definitely championship level material just by watching those early fights. But like others have said, he still has to rack some more victories and some of those will have to be against guys with a good american type style imo. Fighters with some slickness (hate that word) but you know what I mean.
His least impressive fight was the one of his first on HBO, can't remember the opponent but he was missing a lot of his hooks over the top in that fight, and didn't really know how to mix up his pace and find the right kind of shot to land on the guy. I'd like to see him have to adjust again
All in all, he is sick to watch. One of my favorite fighters to watch. Two handed, fast, nice power, goes to the body, can move, stop and punch in comibination. The way he got rid of the guy off on Saturday was sick
Yes, I am Mexican.
Valdez has beat mediocre opposition so far, 99% of his punchs are wide hooks that leave him self open, anyone who shoots 1,2's will beat him to the punch every time. Now Valdez could just be going hook/wide shot crazy on these limited opposition cause he can get away with it on them we shall see. I seen most if not all his televised pro figths and he loves throwing wide and I just think he might be exposed with someone with some skills but like I said who knows we have to wait and see when he does face someone.
I think that GRJ and Valdez would provide a solid opponent for the winner of LSC and Frampton.

i agree. But 90 percent.. Not 99%!
Yeah, you can tell he is "green" in terms of being a pro.....BUT that term for him is like comparing a stock Ferrari to a a Ferrari with 100K worth of upgrades. This guy is a sick boxer, offensively, he is wicked with the left hook to the body and the overhand right. He exchanges but doesn't get hit with much.
As he gets better (which is hard to believe) he will become a superstar.....very exciting boxer.
That he is, that left hook could be the death of an older Rigondeaux if he moves up within the next 2years. Hopefully Arum has Valdez unify within the next year and that fight would have some solid build up. Throw Lomencheko vs Gamboa on that card and it makes for a fun night of fights!
I would love to see both fights. Especially Rigo vs Valdez.
He is an azz kicker. Mexican style. Are you a Mexican? Just curious.

He looks like it but that seal of approval comes after putting a string of W's together on other solid opposition.

you should probobly watch him obliterate former world champ iron chinned grodovich in a few rounds instead.
his last fight meant nothing.
in answer to ur Question:yes.
Exactly! This right here! ^^^^^^
He has a nice left hook. He got the better of Selby in a sparring session before Selby fought Gradovich.
Didn't know that. I don't take too much notice of sparring tbh though, as it's for working on certain aspects the majority of the time. Would be good to see them in the ring. The real test for him will be Gary Russell jr or Frampton/Cruz winner (Frampton I think), but he's only 25 so he has time to mature and potentially get good enough for those fights.
I dunno man, only seen him against the reliable Gradovic and Valdez really did him in but we have to see how he does going forward.
My issue is he is only 5'5'' ish, might even be an inch shorter (looks tiny). There are some big strong guys for the weight at 126 and 130 and I don't see any explosive athleticism or sharp reflexes from the guy. Can he cope with the bigger men?

Yeah I checked it on Youtube. Looked good. I remember when I heard Gradovich lost I was gonna check out the fight but I must have forgot.

He is really good picking spots, that body punches from his last fight seemed to hurt a lot.
Yeah, power in both hands. We will have to wait and see how he performs against better opponents, but at 25, all the tools look to be in place to be refined into a standout talent.
He is really good, solid from a technical view because all his years fighting the top amateurs, he gets the job done, needs to step up, but looking good in the process and is a great body puncher, boxing needs body punchers.
Yeah, the one thing I noticed is he mixes it really well to the head and body. Seems to be able to move pretty good when he chooses to as well.
