He's the best at 140 but people saying he'll beat Pacquioa and he's like a young Floyd when he's nowhere near. I'm sure even Tim Bradley could have kod all his previous opponents. Other's like Spence, Brook,Porter would kill those guys.
I give him his due for his win but if we're talking about him vs any of these guys at WW I don't see him beating PAC, Bradley, Thurman etc. Crawford should go after Broner and it's not even a sure thing he beats him.
He is very good of course but as always some of his fans are badly overrating him. He is not the equal of Mayweather by a long shot. He is 28 with some good wins and two big wins. Mayweather had been a champion for 7 years at 28 and had many big wins. A few days ago his fans had him beating Canelo because Floyd beat Canelo years ago. He isn't the new Mayweather and he can't do everything that Mayweather could do.
Ffs your comment is so damn clustered up and hypocritical...
Yes, one person proved me wrong I hardly think many are going to be rash enough to put Crawford in at top 3 P4P rankings it's just absolutely ludicrous!
Kovalev has:
Pascal times 2 (only man to stop him) he holds wins over Bute, Chad Dawson
Hopkins (old) great resume
Cleverly
Now in comparison to Crawford:
Gamboa two weights below his original one and long layoff plus off steroids
Viktor Postol (Only one good win Matthysse)
Ricky Burns (Returning from Jaw break which ruined him)
Kovalev has been fighting guys his own weight for the most part of his career unlike Crawford and has been putting guys out to sleep for the most part so explain how that resume is better than Kovalev's?
Also, what is he meant to do If promotional issues won't work for him that's why he hasn't fought Adonis and Beterbiev didn't want to fight him yet.
Then you use GGG name ironically forgetting Crawford thinks his best win is a guy who belongs at 126lbs but who came up to 135lbs for him does that not say it all?
GGG resume literally ****s all over Crawfords
Daniel Geale first one to stop him, he holds wins over Mundine and Sturm
Murray first and only one to stop him, he was robbed against Sturm and Martinez
David Lemieux holds wins over Glen Tapia, N'Jikam, Rosado
Ishida only one to stop him with a win over Kirkland
Macklin dominated him this is a guy who should have a win over Sturm
Then the countless amount of American great hopes he absolutely demolished.
It's really odd that you think with a win over Postol that for some reason that is greater than beating Wladimir, Lemieux, Porter, Andy Lee, Pascal or even a damn old Hopkins lol!
You're saying Postol is the reason he should be rated number 3 P4P ranking yet Crawford thinks a 126lber he fought at 135lbs is his most toughest fight that he only won because he was too big for him!!
So what we've learned is it's okay for someone you like to fight a smaller guy and not give him hassle for it but its bad If someone you don't like does it.
Jeez, I only read the first line. p4p is proven by maintaining skill and power through divisions, ie a 160 dude actually moving up and beating 168lbers - rather than just talking about it - therefore showing he has better p4p skills (moving up within reason obviously, height, reach, other factors). None of the guys you mentioned before have done that yet. Therefore their positioning is more hypothetical (and like I said, I prefer to be objective). Crawford has actually done it. And I can see the skills he possesses, you obviously can't. No need to thank me. Also beating a guy with a good record when hes 50 years old should not count IMO. Otherwise I could have become pound for pound if I beat up Muhammad Ali on the street.
On my list:
Ward will move up when he beats Kov.
GGG will move up if he beats a good 168lber, especially one like ramirez who has height and reach advantages.
Canelo would move up if he beat Golovkin.
Kell Brook would be in the top 3 if he beat Golovkin.
Loma will move up if he beats salido convincingly and Walters
Rigo will move up if he beats Loma
and so the pattern goes on. Beat the best guys at your weight, and then the best guy at the weight above who is technical with reach and height advantages, and you move up. Simple. That's why the ring moved him up to 5th and boxrec has him 3rd. I have him in my top 3, above Kovalev for sure. It's funny because Kovalev is no.2 in the ring and he just went life and death with Chilemba, and will lose to a smaller ward too.
I don't think it's unfair to ask what Crawford can acomplish at welter....the dude balloons up more than most welterweights on fight night and has basically cleared out what little talent there is at 140(looking at the rankings only Peterson would be interesting....and he's probably a welter now and on PBC), beat some of the limited good fighters that were at 135 and there's little chance he can make that weight again.....no one is asking him to move up NOW, but there's not many fights he can get at 140...who's he gonna fight provodnikov?matthysse?linares/crolla winner moving up from 135?
He basically has 3 interesting matchups below 147(probably catchweights around 144) Pacquiao-Broner-Peterson.
The reason he needs those welters is that a resume consisting of:
Gamboa(very small compared to him)
Postol
Burns
Beltran
is not gonna make him "special"...he could be, but not proven so far....even Peterson and Broner are a tougher challenge than any in his resume.
HELL NO!!! :nono::pat:
I like the Broner fight. If he gets past Adrien, he's in the mix.
Are you crazy! That's not even a fight. Crawford destroys Broner and possibly Ko's him. Nobody at 140 beats Crawford. He should move up, fight somebody like Benavidez and take it from there. Crawford is the goods for sure.
So so true, i didnt realise postol was some brilliant fighter, enough to elevate someone near the top of the P4P list. Also, let us not forget that gamboa gave him a lot of problems in that fight too. And before you idiots say GGG hasnt fought anyone in P4P list, he has consistently demolished solid fighters, cant tell me crawfords CV is better.
He is a damn great fighter but he wasn't even in the top ten in most people's P4P rankings but because he beats Postol suddenly he leap frogs Roman Gonzalez, Kovalev, Rigondeaux, Fury and **** even Ward lol!
Gamboa nor Postol were in the P4P list at the current time either I don't believe I mean Gamboa did have a long lay off thanks to Fiddy.
You're asking me to target another comment? LOL.
I targeted the one I saw because it was wrong.
You said anyone who has TC in top p4p spot is to do with the country. I proved you wrong. Who said postol was a world beater? Again making things up cause I certainly didn't say it. He was ranked at the top of 140 though. Thurman hasn't beaten a number 1 guy in the only division he's ever fought. Rigo has, but he hasn't moved since. Kovalev hasn't fought Adonis or Beterbiev and is about to get beat by Ward, a guy coming UP to fight him. Wlad is old and just lost to Fury. GGG hasn't faced any of the next best, Jacobs, Saunders, Canelo, for whatever reason, the reason is irrelevant the fact is he hasn't yet, even if we know he would beat them. He also won't move in weight and is fighting a 147lber next. And Fury has to prove the doubters wrong as Wlad is his only high-class win. And he will. But until then that's every single person you listed bunked out.

if you can't see that crawford is an outstanding boxer, i can live with that but why the f*** does he have to beat WWs to be a special boxer - when he moves up to WW - and he will - then you'll realise that this guy is a special talent. Right now he would make broner look very average - that is not a good match up for broner. unfortunately for crawford there is no one even close to him at junior ww that is even a half interesting challenge. don't know where he goes from here.

Agree 100 percent
QUOTE=bojangles1987;16899634]I never said Crawford is impossible to outbox. He's impossible for Broner to outbox, because Broner can only outbox crude sluggers. Against any fighter that isn't C class or lower he looks bad. Broner doesn't have a single win as good as Postol stopping Matthysse. Why is Broner a better win than him? A hell of a lot worse and more fragile fighters than Crawford can take Broner's shots. Why the hell would Crawford not be able to?
The only overrating being done here is of Broner, who despite looking absolutely useless and losing badly to Maidana and Porter and struggling with much lesser fighters like past prime Malignaggi and Daniel Ponce de Leon is still treated as if he is capable of greatness.
Demarco was C level when Broner beat him? Crawford was getting hurt by Gamboa so who knows how he'll react to Broner.
Demarco was C level at best, and has usually been worse than that throughout his career.

Crawford took care of business and gets full credit but look at who's 140 compared to who's at 147. He doesn't have to beat a WW he could fight someone like Barthalemy and I wouldn't have a problem.
Im not even mainly talking about just p4p really, as a fighter he's overhyped.
What is overhyped about him, please explain! Again not like he is retiring after this fight he is not done not sure how he is overhype for beating the other top guy in his Division. But if he stays at 140 he has some competition on the rise in his Division in guys like Lipinets, Barthelemy, Troyanovsky so he has plenty of time and will have plenty of opportunity to prove himself over and over and over again

He would beat Bradley and Thurman, I see him knocking em down more than once, especially Bradley because Bradley seems to struggle a lot against the southpaw style and he likes to brawl a lot, which will just play him right into Crawford's power.
I'm not sure how he would fair against Pac. Pac is definitely faster and I don't know if Crawford can handle Manny's power either. He gets hit a lot in the early rounds and Pac hits very hard so I really am not sure how that would go.
I think people have seen a different side to Crawford in his last fight though that has made em think Crawford could pull it off. Crawford showed a new level of ring IQ/savvy and intelligence against Postol and he showed good quality counter punching and lateral movement, two things which are Pacquiao's weakness, and off course, he has that concussing KO power that can equalise things at any point during the fight.
I think both those guys beat Crawford, honestly Bradley to me is a better version of Crawford.
He has some power but idk how he got the rep as a big power puncher, I don't see it definitely not enough to say he would drop a big guy like Thurman.
Lol this is part of the reason he's so overrated, you act like he's impossible to outbox. Crawfords good but he isn't some great boxer that you can't outthink or who's impossible to hit clean. Adrien can box to and idk if Crawford can even take a shot from AB. Broner would be TCs best win if he beat him, better than Postol.

Anyone who doesn't stand right in front of Broner gives him trouble. Whether it's moving outside or getting right in his face, he is bothered by any style that doesn't involve standing right in front of him. Porter beat him both inside and outside with ease.
Broner could never win a boxing match at range against Crawford. He couldn't win inside either. So how the hell is he winning?

It works both ways. He has better defense but isn't as aggressive offensively as those two and that's what caused the most problems for Broner. The more he waits and the slower the pace the better it'll be for Broner. You can't really call AB a potshotter, he throws hard shots and sits down on his shots good.
