https://youtu.be/9QNxNLEvmmo ...YESTERDAY @ my 4th Official Amateur Boxers Reunion (at Mohegan Sun Casino in CT)... I made plans with Nunn ahead of time to call me at a designated time so I could surprise former opponents Iran Barkley (world 160 title) and Dennis Milton (1983 USA Sports Festival) with conversations with Michael...in the background you can see the likes of former amateur stars Irish Micky Ward, Lionell Odom, Poison Junior Jones and others...
hahahaha that is just bad. Keep doing your thing :)
Beyond bad... a MODERATOR of THIS site is on here talking crazy, insulting on a regular basis to at least one member (ME)...but sometimes people in key places can spill location secrets :)
All expenses paid? To Siberia? I vote YES :)
CRAZY THING IS...A while back on here I had a particular guy who was constantly saying nasty, insulting things to me...just a trouble maker in general...finally, rather than go through nonsense every day, I tried to block him.....and it said I couldnt because he was a moderator on this board!!

I wonder if it is possible for a mod to give Motorcity Cobra a vacation for being a tool? Awesome stuff John

WAR BOXING!!
It's one post on a boxing forum calm down.
Yeah, man, its a little dramatic for ONE post that includes a VIDEO of a top champ like Iran Barkley (THREE titles in three weight classes...legendary win over Tommy...this IS boxing...
Funny thing is, NSB is advertised as "all things boxing". Most of us want to see and read these things. The ones that don't can just skip it.
It'd be good to see some clips of these guys meeting up with some of their former opponents to hang out, talk boxing, share some stories. They should get more active on social media and talk with the fans like Shannon Briggs.
Shann is definitely on the right track with all that...the PEOPLE feel a connection to him...

Boxing is full of old men yelling get off my lawn. And we wonder why UFC is so popular among the youth. Old judges who can't score fights. Old referees who can't control a fight. Old promoters. Old commentators. Everything in boxing is old. It's like the Republican party. Our base is dying off. We need an injection of youth into the sport. Constantly looking back won't do that. Young people don't wanna constantly hear how everything was better back in the day. I know I hated hearing that from my parents. I notice in all other sports the youth will defend the players of their generation. In boxing they defend the fighters of decades past. Ask a 27 year old who's better, Jordan or LeBron. They'll say Lebron. Boxing fans talk about how fighters they've never seen before are better than the current fighters. It's crazy!
I get your point, but it's not really a competition though.
You can love Mike Trout and still respect Babe Ruth. You can love Aaron Rodgers or Adrian Peterson and still respect Joe Montana or Walter Payton. Kyrie Irving and Stephen Curry don't change how great Isaiah Thomas was.
There is room for both. You can't wipe away 100 years of boxing history just because you only want to talk about the 'new hot thing'.
It's a continuum.
The proper forum is Boxing History

And had you identified in your 1st post that this was the issue you had, the response from most here would have most likely been different.
Maybe that was your intent, but that's not what was communicated. Instead, you went in on 'living in the past'.
It's all good, but it just seemed unnecessary.

I remember the expectations were high for Milton. If I remember correctly, didn't he beat Nunn in the trials.
He beat Nunn in the 83' Sports Festival. He also beat Iran in the 1981 NYC Golden Gloves. His main rival at 156 was Frank Tate but he lost in an upset to Darin Allen at the Trials. As a pro he didn't meet the high expectations BUT people forget that he outboxed and BEAT Gerald McClellan.
Yeah, the Blade has been doing good, seeing him around at different shows etc. Dennis Milton, too...Dennis had super potential coming out of the amateurs (he beat McClellan in the pros, too)...

EXACTLY...if you're a boxing fan and this doesn't intrigue you, then something is WRONG...
Indeed! Great stuff and thx for sharing.
I don't know why some people only focus on what's happening in the ring right now and miss out on generations of greatness. Same with music and film.
