Great news lads, Jim has decided to pack it in, hopefully his mate Nick Halling will follow him.

I am surprised soo many people dislike the guy. I don't always catch sky sports commentary, but when I did it is refreshing to hear him and his partner call a fight. i liked their style.
OMG - you lost this one bro...dont go there...I told denium the same thing the other day take this L and fall back regroup and come out swinging tomorrow.
Was Joe Frazier a cruiserweight? Simple question.

He weighed 205 for the Fury fight so technically he was above the cruiserweight limit, hence not a cruiserweight.
Oh I see then Khan was not a welterweight vs. Canelo - got it.
You guys been coming at me sideways this whole thread...do you know Steve Cunningham is career long cruiserweight? his last fight was for the WBO cruiserweight title vs. Glowaki!

Fury has never been dropped by a cruiserweight.

When did I say he was not elite? I dont understand where you are coming from with this comment. I said hes getting KO whats so hard to understand? he been sparked and put on the floor before even by a cruiserweight.

They'll probably get Adam Smith in now as co-commentator. From a business perspective, why use some of the budget to get Paulie in when you have Adam Smith lurking around in the background like a weirdo anyway. Then Johnny Nelson to do the presenting. He's awful but it is what it is.
Anyway good luck to Jim Watt, Hope he enjoys his years off now. Didnt like his commentary but he has been through some tough times, lost his daughter recently which must have been devastating.
Aww, i really loved this man and his commentating. And his accent was the sweetest aspect of his craft to me.
And you guys speak English and call this Scottish guy's accent a gypsy accent or have no clue about it? How ignorent of you.
I'm not his biggest fan due to the fact he's gone a bit stale over the last few years. But it's an end of an era, lot's of us have grew up with him calling fights.
He's no worse than Halling IMO.
I wonder what direction SKY take next?
Thank God for that, long overdue.
Hopefully we can bring Paulie over permanently to replace him.
Its going to feel really weird not having too mute the sound.
I don't want to be too mean since I know nothing about him, but good riddance. He is an awful, awful commentator. Plus the guy is either straight up blind at this point or has no clue how to judge a fight. I don't know him well enough to say which is the case.
Oh man, no more fancy Dan's landing arum punches or guys looking the boss in there as they tee off with power shots bang on the chen that shake the opponent down to his boots.
He is a big part of British boxing, but his commentary has been abysmal for years.
Watt was a voice synonymous with boxing and sadly a poor commentator for almost a decade but if anyone remembers him before that, he was astute and knew about the game. I feel he just became too lazy ,repeating the same catchphrases over and over and honestly, not watching the fights. Sometimes I had no idea what he was banging on about.
A spot on the allotments has been LOOOONG over due.
