Wilder showed to be on the next level tonight. He almost boxed like Mayweather in the first rounds, with Arreola being unable to touch him at all. To make matters even better, he even let Arreola hit him with two brutal hooks in round 6, without flinching, while humping (raping!) Arreola at the same time! When Arreola realized that his punches had no effect on Wilder, he resorted to hit him in the crouch, only for Wilder to reveal that he could stop Arreola at any second he wanted. He responded to the lowblow with a flurry of swings that had Arreola in big trouble, but then stopped and let him survive, which he did many times in the fight, all while looking untouchable and having fun. This fight must have been a knife in the heart of the Wilder haters. He was great tonight. And he won despite breaking one of his hands!

We'll find out about wilder when he faces someone with his height and reach. He's getting good with the style that breland is teaching him, but part of it is down to his opponents not being able reach him, so just not punching when he pulls away with his hands down. When he fights a top fighter with a comparable reach, i think he'll find himself getting hit when he wasn't expecting to.
That is the problem right there, to be fair to Wilder though I think those guys will run into the same issue with Wilder because they have the exact same advantage normally. Guys of that size, range, athleticism, ability don't grow on trees so it is a hard thing to really prepare for.
At least for Wilder he did experience getting tagged with Duhaupus' jab repeatedly, so he at least dealt with it against a somewhat capable fighter.
lol arreola was ten times worse of an opponent than dominic wade. he just lost to fred kassi and travis kauffman while also getting knocked out hard against stirvirne. he was a human punch bag/statue. wilder didn't fall off balance because arreola was in statue mode. zelenoff tried harder and thats not a joke at all. :smashfrea:smashfrea:smashfrea
i hope he does fight Fury

That's literally the only possible thing that could wow you from this fight. Maybe if his biceps and hand were fine he could have blasted him out sooner. I just don't know how good Wilder really is though.
I mean I like him and want to see him succeed. He can knock out anybody he lands on but he really doesn't move like Floyd. I know most of you are just trolling but damn lol. I think he moves pretty damn awkward. I think he could beat Fury whose just as big & awkward. Joshua and Ortiz I think will take him to hell and back unless he can finish them quickly.
He is athletic in fluid in a certain sense because I think some of the things he does can't be done without freaky athleticism. From a boxing technique standpoint he is not smooth or textbook but being awkward can be very effective especially given his size and range.
Plus his range seems even further extended because he is explosive so he goes from being halfway across the ring to landing really fast.
Joshua, Fury and Wlad present a problem because they are just as tall and rangy so he will get hit on more of his mistakes because he will just be in range more frequently. Tough to say how Wilder does because I think he does things that will be problematic for them but they can also take advantage of things he does.
Ortiz I think is the most overrated guy in boxing period. Ortiz is a lefty which makes him tricky for heavies that rely on the jab which Wilder does at times, but Wilder's best punch is the straight right which is the southpaw killer which he would be firing slightly down which gives Wilder the better leverage. Ortiz got cracked by Jennings' right a bunch, just Jennings has little power, he can't eat rights from Wilder and just fight through it like with Jennings.
His left hand was money, and the best thing that came from the fight was that he was forced to rely on the left which should give him even more confidence in that hand going forward. It was against Arreola who is essentially a punching bag with arms and a hot dog neck so that tempers what Wilder was able to do.
Still going in there with his main weapon busted and continuing to take Arreola apart with just his off hand which very few respected at all is something to ponder.
A heavyweight FLOYD Mayweather. The first round of his fight against Arreola will probably go down in history due to the jab and defense that Wilder demonstrated there. Not even 1 punch from Arreola landed. I counted.
I say wilder is on the juice big time but with haymons money they can pass tests and have the other guy fail
Bro, Wilder would destroy all other ATG heavyweights with his gyrating hips. Wilder is the face of this forum, do not disrespect the sensei of our sport.
Bro, Wilder is da hips of this forum. He might just have invented a new technique there.
Holy **** just joined here but this must be trolling or you must be 12 and haven't seen many quality heavyweights.

Pretty much this, although I have my questions regarding Ortiz as well.
I been telling ya'll wilder is the real deal. He is gonna beat everyone in the division.
Booooomb Squuuuaaad baby!!
Toyed with one of Vitali Klitschko's top 3 wins of all time, yet showed compassion for his opponent unlike the Klitschko bros who said they "enjoy" punishing their opponents.
ATG
Arreola was undefeated 27-0 when Vitali humiliated him, and even then the fight was not taken very seriously. The odds were massively in Vitali's favor.
He's lost 5~ times, been brutally KTFO, gone bankrupt etc since then. He is a journeyman now. Not even a gatekeeper anymore IMO.
"prime" Arreola has been down against guys like Travis Walker and rocked by many others, this is what happens when he faces one of the hardest punchers of all time. This is a top 3 W on Vitali's resume we're talking about, none of his skills have diminished and he came it at -26lbs lighter than he did against Vitali. Wilder let him hit him and finished him, not even Vitali would dare do that.
Arreola was at his best. Forget that he should have lost to guys like Kassi and Kaufman. Or whatever journeyman he's faced last time.
Wilder's jab & low right hand is a thing of beauty. Nobody ever swung a punch like him before. His slow feet are Ali like and his telegraphed punches would penetrate even the best of defenses.
In a case like this every head must bow and every tongue must confess, this man is the greatest of all times.
Love Chris's little nod at the end.
BTW, has anyone ever seen THAT defensive gyration before? That was so unusual and it actually worked against Areola. Would not recommend he try it again though...
Ali did something similar vs Chuvalo in their first fight.
Although Chuvalo was 10 X the body puncher Arreola is.
If I traveled ten years ahead of time and fought myself at age 42 now do you think I will win? :smashfrea
wilder didn't even stop him,Arreolas corne did.
Arreola came in the best shape of his life, not nearly as reckless as he used to be either. What skills do you think eroded? In his prime he was getting dropped by the likes of Travis 57% KO rate Walker.
Wilder toyed with him, Arreola's eyes were swelling shut, he even let him hit him throughout the fight. Arreola risked brain damage which is why they stopped it.
