"Actions speak louder than words. Triple G will fight a 147-pound guy, but wouldn't fight me, who's 6 pounds away," stated jr. middleweight champion Erislandy Lara, who reacted to the breaking news that unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin will defend his titles against IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook.
Lara, who has made it clear on several occasions that he's more than willing to step up and face the hard-hitting Golovkin, was unimpressed with the fight announcement. "As far as I'm concerned, Canelo and Triple G are twin brothers," Lara explained during a brief conversation with FightHype.com. He added, "Typical business first and not old school throwback fighters."

I'm disappointed as f*ck with Golovkin for taking this fight but Lara should seriously shut the f*ck up at this point. He is all talk. There has never and will never be a legitimate offer from his camp to GGG's.
G-strings avoided Lara, that's just a damn fact. whether or not he would have won is irrelevant, it's clear g-string's team knew that Lara would make him look bad and vulnerable with his slick cuban style.
Dude Lara just dropped 5 rounds to Vanes, again. As Ggg is concerned the scariest thing about Lara is his purse dmand

:lol1: I'd expect nothing less from you.
Ditto bud. In boxing it's easy to force a champ to fight you or give up the belt, you go mando. Ggg has 3 mandos, and Lara doesnt want any of them. Why, what's his problem?
Are you seriously bringing up the "Lara has to move up first to earn a shot" defense when a welterweight doesn't have to?
He doesn't have to, depends how much he wants it. It's there for him if he really wants it
Lara can easily get a fight with Golovkin. Move up, fight the Derevyanchenko/Soliman winner and then Johnson afterwards. Boom, he's the mandatory to Golovkin's title. Lara/Derevyanchenko would likely be the easiest match for Lara to make too. The thing is Lara knows he'll lose and end any hype he *might* have.

Yes the new age "boxing fan" where 2 losses, let alone controversial ones, means you are crap.
Yeah Lara sure took a mean ""loss"" to Paul Williams :lol1:
loeffler said that nobody from lara's camp has contacted him. furthermore, as far as he knew, nobody from lara's camp had contacted either of the networks about it, either.
if the guy's people really wanted the lara fight he'd be campaigning at 160 lbs. they'd be a lot more confident in taking the fight if they didn't remember the angulo fight, when a guy who does nothing at all better than golovkin had lara on the ropes and eating body shots.
heck, f#cking vanes was getting to lara's ribs, and putting him on the ropes. dude needed a rematch against vanes f#cking martyrosian :lol1:. golovkin has arguably the best jab in the sport, and is one of its best body punchers and power punchers. his style is all wrong for lara, and his people know it better than i do.
Its not up to Lara to make that call. Typically the A side makes the offer. Lara has been calling for a GGG fight so they know he is interested.
And Lara has to campaign at 160 first to get the fight but Brook can fight welterweights and is worthy? That makes a lot of sense. K2 could have called up Lara and the fight would have been easy to make. That fight would have been much better received than Brook. Kell Brook has one notable fight to his name against a just above average Porter. This fight does nothing for GGG. might as well have taken the fall off.
You look up to me so much that you use my insults? ...And you use the word "hun." Man, I think you just exposed yourself. Looks like I didn't even have to add that part of you offering up lip-service in those crack-dens.
You must've ruined that noggin of yours dominating the crack-rock industry with Floyd Sr.
Yeah, I know who Pirog is, and he's a very good fighter. People still think Pirog/Golovkin would've been 50-50.
Quillin wasn't special, but a win over him is better than anything on Lara's resume. As I said, who is Lara's best win that can trump a KO win over Quillin?I was mocking you but apparently you're too stupid to figure that out. Blah Blah Blah. More crack(obviously you have a problem). More lip service(I'm beginning to see a pattern) Pirog/Golovkin a 50/50 fight lol. Now that's real wisdom.
Let us know when you deal with that substance abuse and have fun playing with men in the dark crack dens you so commonly refer to. Is there no electricity in your crack den? Do you steal candles? Or just feel around for your male lover?
Says things like "sucking head for crack", doesn't know who Pirog is and the massive exposure that happened, claims Quillin was special or something?, obvious desire to hide out in the dark and give head to other men. Thanks for the heads up hun. You're sort of special...

Even if GBP doesn't let them fight Johnson, they'll pass him up for someone else. The thing is that Lara isn't getting past Derevyanchenko, and he knows this.
Derev didn't look that great against a journeyman in his last bout, so IDK. Derev isn't big/tall and he doesn't have much power, and I think Lara has the physical attributes to beat him. It would be an interesting match-up though.
I think Tureano is with GBP though, so the sanctioning bodies would probably have to get involved.

The fact that you even said that shows you've been hiding out in those dark crack dens sucking head for crack.
Jacobs has a KO win over Quillin. What's Lara's best win, Austin Trout post KO Paul Williams? Man, you are dumb.
Taking a loss to a guy that many think would've been the biggest threat to the currenty #1 MW in the world isn't a bad thing. Lara took a loss to a guy that he had all stylistic advantages against. He's that bad.Says things like "sucking head for crack", doesn't know who Pirog is and the massive exposure that happened, claims Quillin was special or something?, obvious desire to hide out in the dark and give head to other men. if lara would take willie monroe money that fight would be signed tomorrow.
they have not even asked for that fight.
Lara just loves to talk on Twitter, and the crack-den buddies of Floyd Sr. nuthug whatever Lara says as right. I've heard the same from Golovkin's promoter. Lara hasn't even tried to contact them.

Lara's right. He doesn't have an opponent right now and would most likely jump at the chance to fight GGG. Lara is a 154 champ but is just as suited with his style to go up to 160. GGG would have gotten much more respect fighting Lara than pulling Brook up from 147. Brook has a weak resume at Welterweight but thinks he can move up to 160 and get it done? Good luck to him.
Lara can't say nothing to Canelo, he was on that bicycle the whole night and thought he was going to get a decision from the champ by running the whole fight. He got what he deserved in that one.

I'm pretty sure Punisher lost some of his luster after the Martinez fight, but that's neither here nor there. Regardless, Lara is sitting near the top of LMW with no immediate significant match-ups. If he can't get Andrade, what's left? Lara is content with keeping his name in the MW conversation, but if he was actually serious, he would've moved up to MW already. Hell, when was the last time Lara was on HBO? Until this PBC/HBO division ends, it's unlikely that we'll ever see Lara against GGG. Now that the LMW division is beginning to stagnate for Lara, it might be the best time to take a MW stay-busy. If Lara is being avoided, then he needs to fight more often and deliver impressive performances every single time out. Haymon gets all this credit for keeping his fighters in the mix, but what has he really done for Lara recently?
