That's true and fair. All I'm saying is that people shouldn't start to act like suddenly Hearn is the standard bearer for truth and honesty. I remember that interview Hearn gave when Eubank Jr left Sky to fight for the British title and everyone was calling Hearn a liar and saying they didn't trust what he said. But now that what he says makes GGG look good and Eubank look bad, everyone is suddenly holding Hearn up as the gold standard when it comes to truth.
I agree, i wouldn't usually take Hearn's word as gospel. I think Hearn is being truthful with this scenario though. Simply because Eubank Sr. was saying in a press conference couple of weeks ago about "the first dollar should drop to the fighter", not broadcaster etc. etc.
So those words from Eubank Sr's own mouth basically tie in with what Hearn is saying today about why they couldn't come to an agreement.
Eubanks speak with fork tongue. Too much mouth action and not enough talking!
I can't wait to hear Khans mouth go off about this. Thinking he was the big show fighting Cowerdo.
It COULD be a decent fight.. Depends if Kell plays the runner well with counters.
Yeah but the Eubanks have form. Now they have walked away from a Saunders rematch for big money, walked away from being the mandatory for Jacobs and now lost this GGG fight, all within about 8 months and with different promoters negotiating things.
At some point this pattern has to suggest the blame lies with the Eubank camp.
Indeed. Personally I think with Eubank Sr., not Jr.
I think a Lemiux/ Ndam/ Jacobs/ Saunders/ Lee type fight would have made more sense for him at this stage. Though many if those fighters are engages atm.
But in relation to this fight, Hearns story makes more sense and seems more reasonable to me
He already turned down a big offer for the Saunders rematch, and give up his mando position for Jacobs.
So they may make more sense, but he doesn't take the good fights offered to him.
That's why I said I'll wait for Eubank Sr interview. The way you Brits usually call Hearn a snake it's funny how suddenly his word is gospel. Very very strange.

Eubank Sr. knows the deal. You realize the more others get, the less or challenged acknowledgment Hearn gets. Remember, Arum told Mayweather that double digit millions was not possible...but what do fans know about the saying, "boxing is a business."
And thats fine, Eubank will still make a lot of money. Hes an engaging character who is building a strong brand. The GGG fight didnt really make much sense for him at this stage any way. Garbage fight. Even if eubank make it impossible I would have preferred GGG taking another route besides Brook
Agree it's a garbage fight, but I can see why they'd take this fight. Jacobs doesn't want it, BJS doesn't want it (and apparently has a fight scheduled for Sept), Ramirez got injured, Canelo doesn't want it... Who's left?
Lara? From what has been reported, Lara wanted something like 3M for the fight even though he has no fans himself - which meant GGG would have to pay him out of pocket or try to negotiate with Haymon, while Kell Brook would provide a good payday and nego were easy.
It's an easy business decision, but he'll get no respect if he wins and will lose ALL the respect if he loses.
Hearns' story makes sense? Maybe you didn't get the memo..."Brook?" Is Eubank Sr. promoting Brook?! lol
Wtf are you on about? Eubank snr promoting Brook? What?
Eubank snr post Doran fight (paraphrasing): "we want to make the fight, but we want to renegotiate how PPVs are organised in this country..."
Hearn: "Eubank Snr wanted to control the entire event, wanted higher revenue split between fighter and promoter, wanted to control.ticket prices etc etc i said no, they wouldnt budge"
The timeline also makes sense with Hearn not getting in touch with Eubanks after they missed his deadline, and them complaining about not recieving contract for the last few days
Eubank jnr needs to get rid of his father
He wants to double the price of the Anthony Joshua-Brezealle tickets and have complete operational control?
Wtf? As much as i Like eubank snr i wonder what planet hes really on.
The Eubank's will obviously spin this in whichever direction they please, Hearn is a decent promoter, he needs to make fights he cannot wait around for Eubank to find his pen, Golovkin will not wait around forever for them to make up their mind. Just give Brook props and let's have this one.

Eubank snr is not a reliable source either :lol1:
Hearns story makes sense based on what Eubank snr said post Doran fight
Based on the video, according to Hearn, Chris Eubank Sr. wanted to dictate:
1) Who was going to commentate.
2) What the ticket prices were going to be (Sr. wanted to raise prices).
3) Who's on the undercard and what they're going to be paid.
Apparently, Hearn isn't allowed to speak to Eubank Jr. at all.
Eubank Sr has an interview coming up. I'll wait to hear both sides of the story. He's been asking for the contract for two days.
According to Hearn they missed the deadline for accepting his terms for the fight (same terms hat Froch, Joshua, Brook etc all have with Hearn), and after that he stopped negotiating a Eubank Vs GGG fight, which is a perfectly reasonable thing for Hearn to do.
