Anthony Joshua fears Tyson Fury's drugs probe could derail their planned world heavyweight unification clash.
Fury is facing a ban of between two and four years after the Mirror revealed UK Anti-Doping is investigating allegations he tested positive for a banned substance last year.

A story breaks that Fury is apparently under investigation, an allegation he (and his team deny), all you're seeing from other UK based websites are them reporting "Fury and his team deny allegation"
Remember, these websites will report any rumour/story that may attract visitors to their sites, thats how they make their money.
I'm waiting for one of our friends across the pond to quote the highly trusted daily mail online lol
they broke the story, and lots of the articles i'm seeing do reference that original article. but it does appear that he's being investigated by the british board, that he was brought down for questioning after he and hughie popped positive, and that there was indeed a positive sample. and they're going before an independent panel soon.
i'm not super familiar with UK print news sources, but there are several of them carrying hte story, and i don't know if they'd be runningwith it if the story was just a bunch of trumped up rumors from a tabloid, the way some of the brits are trying to make it look.
Ah OK thanks for clarifying
It would not surprise me in the least if this is completely staged because of Fury's controversial comments. Obviously I can't prove it but IMO anyone who thinks it is a ridiculous insinuation has their head in the sand.
I wasn't jibing with my previous post by the way. Fury's pissed off a lot of groups recently who are adept at lobbying and using the media. It's far from inconceivable that a member of one of those has contacted a journalist with a 'scoop' and slandered him like he's slandered them.
fury said jews were brainwashing. huge difference between media sources being controlled and consolidated under a few major multinationals and a jewish consipiracy to brainwash peopl through banking and hte media
This is the thing. We can take something that may be factually or statistically correct but once it's used the prop up a fallacy the 'truth' of it is lost and it becomes a lie.
The thing is, if Fury turns out to be clean and this was all just to sell papers, the Mirror won't face any backlash at all.
In the UK, we have a habit of facing things with irony, and so we kinda expect the papers to be biased, there only to promote sales and perspectives. This kind of attitude lets them get away with it... all of the time.
Wait until either UKAD or the BBBC release a statement
Fury and co would sue them for sure though. If they made it up out of nowhere and released it to the public then its libelous
a paper called "the sun," which i obviously know nothing about, reported that the british boxing comission / control board is aware of the investigation, accordig to the BBC
this is getting confusing :lol1:
we need to wait for facts to come out, but this doens't look good for fury. a 2-4 year ban will probably end his career.
Yeah it seems pretty clear to me that there is some sort of investigation happening. Whether any of the details are even half way correct is impossible to tell
Be a damn shame if he ends up being banned (though obviously his own fault if he is guilty).
The HW revival was really only based around a few fighters in Fury, Wilder, Joshua, resurgent Povetkin and to a lesser extent Parker and Ortiz. Matchups between any of those guys would be great fun and its what weve been waiting for for years. Now its possible that 2 of them will have been popped for Peds within a few months.
Proper kick in the nuts
Because they are the ones who had the source?
All the other news sites are reporting it, but only as a secondary article ("The Daily Mirror reports that..."). Its more the reaction of the involved parties that gives this story credence to me

You do have to take the intent behind a statement into account as well though.

Is the Mirror still the only news media talking about this? If Fury really failed a drug test I'd expect to see a little more reporting on it than this.

Copious giant handfuls of chocolate, cheese, and cherry coke crammed down my gullet caused a gastrointestinal rupture that sent my brain into a panicked state of batsh*t delirium. Or so I thought when I began to see these prickly little furballs marching through my hedge like battle scared socialists that had gone so far left they were now on the right.

Armed hedgehogs leading the resistance. I'd finally lost the plot. Then I remembered . . . . FURY!! . . . . . kiln roasted hedgehog glazed in honey, a gypy/traveller delicacy. Tyson eats twelve a day during training camp. Boosts testosterone. Quadruples red blood cells. Caravans with row upon row of cages piled high, crammed to capacity with flee infested hogs of the hedge all bound for the ovens. Bad juju on the wildlife front.
But wait! . . . PETA . . . DON'T . . . F*CK . . . AROUND . . . Could they be behind this? The animal strokers? Petting away feverishly, out there huddled on the peat filled moors, stroking the underbelly of a stoat? Those crazy f*cks! They've called an animal resistance of wildlife to arms.
Bamboozled the 6'9" baffoon. Toppled him on the trail. A hare darting from the thicket sending the giant over on his ankle. Imobile. Phase One complete . . . Phase Two: Propaganda. Control the media, flood the tabloids with twaddle. "He's awash with PEDs!!" Filmed in a French bar, off his t*ts, downing shots of nandrolone. "INGERRLAAAND!" . . . Phase Three: "Go Go Go!" Send out the hedgehogs! Three pronged attack. Pincer movement. Marching across the verge converging on the King of Crass. Tiny cannons and howitzers pumping him full of PEDs. Strafed with steroids, convulsing on the floor, frothy mouthed, spittle spattering the walls. Heart pumping till it explodes. Overdose.
Press Release: The controversial heavyweight champion Tyson Fury was found dead today at his home due to a suspected heart attack. Recently suspected of testing positive for nandrolone the self styled King of The Gypsy's was found to have fatal levels of the substance in his system. Police at the scene, who found piles of empty cages strewn across the lawn are not treating the death as suspicious. A coroners verdict of death by misadventure is expected.
:lol1: :lol1: that was good
People who criticize them are always severely punished... often they get branded by the media as crazy and/or evil...
Idi Amin pissed them off, then suddenly we were reading about him being a cannibal
US Congressman James Traficant was brave enough to tell the truth about their influence, but then he was set-up and went to prison. Not long after he was released he died of a mysterious illness
It's almost as if there's a secret cabal right? I mean, why demonize people who say a certain group of people run things if it is indeed true? Because they have something to hide.

Why is no one talking about this except the NY Post of UK media if this is a legit thing?
If he had a banned substance in his system, fair enough, he deserved to be suspended &/or stripped, but lets see someone respectable talking about this just to insure this is a legit thing & not some Tupac is living in Panama & married to Elvis' post-fake death daughter.
Because they are the ones who had the source?

I agree with the bold but then again the news of Tony Thompsons failed tests only came out about a year afterwards because the UK way of doing things protected his privacy in the same way they are allegedly doing with Fury.
That's a very good point. I was looking at other fighters that had been banned to gauge the timescale but I'd completely forgot about Thompson with him not being British.
This snippet explains the process in that case:
'A spokesperson for UKAD stated, “The decision of the UK’s independent National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP) in relation to Tony Thompson was recently made available to the public in the current sanctions section of the UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) website. As per UKAD’s normal processes and as per the requirement under the World Anti-Doping Code, sanctions are published once due process, including all appeal windows, have been concluded.
“In the Thompson case, the decision was published after the ban concluded because the athlete instigated a lengthy legal process, including filing an appeal which he failed to progress and which was ultimately dismissed.“
Robert Smith, general secretary of the British Boxing Board of Control said, “They don’t announce it until all procedures have gone through, so that means the hearing and the appeal.
“We weren’t very happy it wasn’t announced in the beginning because when we used to do dope test hearings we used to suspend someone straightaway, do the hearing and the appeal but they do it differently.'
All of which is pretty f*cked up that a fighter can serve a ban without anyone knowing he's not elegable to box because he's appealing the decision.
That poses some questions in this case though. (Stand back I'm about to go full retard!)
If it's true has an announcement been delayed because he's appealed it?
In order to appeal a decision surely a decision (ie a ban) has to already have been made/put in place?
Is Tyson Fury currently serving an undisclosed ban!
Sh*ts & giggles aside it still leaves us scratching our heads as to what the f*ck is going on here!
Likely scenario is the most obvious. Tabloid tall tales.
