Their are fighters out their who are avoiding GGG. He is a dangerous fighter. There is also fighters out their willing to fight him but the issue always seems to be about money.
I think a combination of things is preventing him from having a decent dance partner soon. We usually here about opponents pricing themselves out but Maybe they just aren't offering good deals for the fighters.
Could some one fill me in because this seems to be a recurring theme when it comes to fighters speaking on fighting GGG
That's the thing, for example BJS would make a decent money over here just defending his belt, he would probably make more money in a Eubank rematch than a GGG fight. Now I know everyone want to believe that boxers should fight for legacy but at the end of the day they too have families to feed.
So unless he gets a crazy amount of money to fight GGG then what's 2 million dollars to him if he makes 1.7m dollars fighting average boxers in the UK?
^^^^yup...like my gramps used to say " you gotta pay, to play"
Boxing is a business, in a perfect world the best would simply fight the best but the world isnt perfect. If the pay is right im sure fighters who claim are ducking him would fight him
but like you said, why fight fight A when fighter B brings in the same coin and less risk....its sucks but its boxing
awesome post...Also Ray...to be a killer...you have to BEAT a killer.
that monster, feared crap is promo
You cant expect to fight top ten opposition and title holders with pennies in the jar to give
K2 and HBO pumping him up, im sure they can come up with the money for a decent opponent

That's what I thought when ODLH said GGG-Canelo is a 90/10 split kinda fight
Thats a rip off bro...either way. Canelo is in a bad position. He is in no mans land.....GGG would be favored to beat him and Andrade and the Charlos are not easy work. Lara wont get a rematch im sure.
90/10 is bullocks when its two world class fighters in the ring. Canelo isnt a PPV star like ODLH, Floyd, Pac or even Cotto...they had to put years and years in
Well K2 is not a big Promotion at all, they can't just put up big money to get anybody to come fight GGG like Don King was able to do for Mike Tyson and yes that is holding him back a bit. It wouldn't be a problem if GGG was younger but he is already 34 years old unfortunately. Hopefully we will get to see him in big fights while IN HIS PRIME and not when he starts to slow down
Big Fights COST MONEY!
I kept hearing they have HBO backing. So HBO should put their money where their mouths is, they can take that risk and make bigger money on GGG later, we all want fighters to take risks for bigger money later on, so why not the broadcasters?
HBO can do more to get those fights for GGG. Problem is if he brings audience and money to the table then they would put the money down, fact is GGG doesn't generate them that much money, so they are kinda stuck because he is a so called killer and anyone that gets in there with him would want the sort of killer money required. You got to be careful when selling a fighter as a killer.

its called PRIZEFIGHTING....what top ten fighter you know is gonna take peanuts to fight for world titles?
90/10 is a crap deal....80/20 as well
How about make serious offers if you want, serious opponents
GGG isnt a monster PPV star nor is he a cash cow, he needs good opponents to build his legacy and earning potential.....thats common sense
You dont get credit for fights not happening and it seems you GGG fanatics are the only people who try to do this. Boxing doesnt work like that
That's what I thought when ODLH said GGG-Canelo is a 90/10 split kinda fight
They're going over to the UK to fight a domestic level fighter and will be the B-side to a guy who isn't as popular in the UK as GGG is in America. This morning Eddie Hearn said the same thing I've been saying. It's unheard of for a champion of GGG's accomplishments to come to the UK to fight. The'll do anything for a check. You see they were willing to take a chance of getting GGG KTFO against Froch for the right price but wasn't willing to let him get decisioned against Ward. They're even willing to let him starve himself to fight Floyd for a payday. They can't make big fights. They're following the Klitschko plan. Get all the belts, fight the #1 contender. That works in heavyweight because fighters don't switch weight classes.
of GGGs accomplishments? What has he done that was groundbreaking?
He literally has no wins over elite opposition but his fan boys get mad when people point this FACT out.
Ward was gonna embarass him....Ward is on another level...thus why HBO ordered a contract but only if he fought at 175....K2 wanted it at 164 instead of 168.....by their logic he ducked Ward...right?
anyway they are gonna milk the meaningless belts....what good are the belts if you dont have to fight for them?

Lemieux vs. GGG middleweight unification in Madison SQ Garden on HBO PPV at $69.99 a pop
Lemieux got $1.5 mil
Vargas vs. Brook unification on Sky PPV at $17 a pop location not announced yet.
Vargas is getting $1.7 mil
Brook/Vargas will supposedly take place at Bramall Lane. What we don't know is the date.
are you referring to Golovkin not moving up? Or offering a deal to Saunders he can't refuse?
The thread is about Daniel "businessman" Jacobs doe. The Saunders ducking saga is over. The Canelo saga continues.
Any comment about businessman Jacobs making an offer himself, instead of waiting for an offer from a guy who GG haters admit is not even a draw?

Coward refused Ward.
So if he's a coward for not moving up in weight to fight Ward, what do you call the 160 fighters who are not willing to fight the champion in their own division?
boxing=prizefighting
in a perfect world what you are saying would be gospel...the world isnt perfect.
K2 is gonna have to come out of pocket......You cant expect to pay top fighters wages similar to a mandatory no name and expect them to ride with it
if thats the case why didnt GGG call Canelito's bluff and fight at 155 for the belt.....one and done...Hopkins did it with Oscar...Lalonde fought leonard at 168 for his 175 title, the list goes on.
He fells he can beat Canelo right? hed fight mayweather, a guy who started at 130 at 154 but wont fight Canelito at 155....come on...its deeper than people being scared of this guy.
Pugilist, at it again about Golovkin. Every week, man, every week.:lol1: I've said that fighters are afraid to face Golovkin. It's probably not actual fear of an ass whipping, because they're fighters too; so if it's that, they're in the wrong business. It's likely more about the fear of what a loss can do to their careers. A loss means a fighter has to go back to the drawing board to make corrections. It also puts him further back in line in hopes of another title shot. Will the match makers feel that they can match the losing fighter in a money making fight? Will they take another chance on him? Then there's the injury factor, which is a direct result of an ass whipping. Golovkin has one of the highest KO ratios in the business. He's never looked hurt, even after being landed on with decent shots. Those factors have to mess with a potential opponent's mind some. As a result, those with the nuts to face Golovkin want mad money for the risk. However, if they're not big draws themselves & a Golovkin win does little for his career, why drop a bunch of dollars? GGG's best bet is for K2 to get the biggest names possible & come as close as they can to satisfying their financial demands. But as another poster said, beating GGG is it's own reward, as it should open doors to big paydays in the future. To bank everything on one fight & demand astronomical $$$ to face Golovkin, shows little confidence of success & no vision of the future.
Anybody notice that Lil'G fans never offer solutions only point out the "problem." Trump would fire these
The solution is very simple. PBC is bigger than K2. Far bigger. GG is also not Tyson, Pac, May, Cotto, Canelo, who has the sole right to make offers. Jacobs, through Haymon, can make his own offer.

so k2 cant cough up similar or more money?
If you have the mentality of a winner and a champ, you don't say, "I'll fight if the money is right." You'll say, "I'll beat the motherfkr to a pulp, make the fight happen." The money will follow. Huge money.

^^^^^^they wont admit GGG and his team have to take some responsibilty why these fights havent been made....they ducking doe and they scared doe is not good enough. Im not that simple and its not that simple

How can GGG become a hall of famer or star if he isnt taking risks? he is in his mid 30s
look at his resume....the they ducking and scared excuse is only a part of the puzzle...his team plays a part just the other fighters team
unifying a division is a big deal...between promo and networks they should be able to get the money up for GGG vs BJS or anyone top ten.
We're not talking about taking risks though we're talking about not meeting the financial demands of these coward MWs. You say they need to put up the money. But what is that dollar amount? Shouldn't you be rewarded with stardom after beating GGG, not for being willing to fight him? You're backwards here.
These fighters want dollars but don't want to go through the gauntlet to get top dollar.
Come on Pugilist. It's one thing to criticize GGG for not willing to move up or down but to defend these middleweight cowards is stooping as low as you can get.
Jacobs says the money isn't right. What has he done on his part to make the money right? His fight with Quillin flopped. Hell, a fight between dudes from Clearwater and Cleveland did better financially in Brooklyn than the battle of Brooklyn. He is scheduled to fight Sergio Mora. How is that making the GGG fight bigger?
Golovkin is putting butts in seats from New York to LA, beat numerous top 10 contenders, puts millions of eyes on HBO and is dominating whoever they put in front of him.
You become a star by beating fighters like GGG. But that's not the mentality of a MW in 2016. The mentality is "I can't beat him and become a star so I just want to be compensated for being the B-side knowing I'm going to lose."
