This is a fight that intrigues me. I really rate Saunders and think he's the man that could give GGG real problems if even his first loss.
His boxing skills are beautiful to watch and his defense and reflexes are criminally underrated(Mostly based on the last couple rounds to Eubank even though it is a pattern that is present in his whole career due to stamina issues)
Yet Smith has impressed me in his last 4-5 fights. He is improving steadily. I love his jab and punches that comes from awkward angles. His stance isn't the greatest but he is effective in it and unlike other high guard fighter can punch out of it very well.
So would Saunders skill and size be too much or can Liam pull off the upset?
It would in reality be any easy fight to make and be really big in the UK.
Saunders would easily beat Smith in my opinion. Saunders has no chance of beating GGG. He would just be another guy that GGG KOed in a few rounds. Saunders will never sign a contract to fight GGG. If he ever does I'll come on here and admit I was wrong about it. Maybe Eubanks will be the brave one to fight GGG and get KOed early. Both big talkers Eubanks and Saunders have nice easy cherry picks lined up for their next fights. They ought to rematch each other instead. I'll be pleasantly surprised if either of them ever really fights GGG instead of just talking about fighting him.
You are an insufferable clown. Please take your GGG love and go fu(k yourself you fake boxing fan. Given the chance to discuss a fight and how their skills will play out but just cries and moans about the same thing he does everyday. You are a F@ggot. And I don't mean you like Di(ks, I mean you are a F@ggot. Please stop impersonating a boxing fan.
I rate BJS the same way and tbh more than Calzaghe, he reminds me of a big fat pikey version of Whitaker for all that it's worth. Smith just made me smile in his last 2-3 fights the way only fighters such as Frampton/Rigo/BJS/Fortuna have been able to do from sheer enjoyment of their boxing ability. I'd be lying if I said I haven't been wrong yet but fu(k it.
Maybe I'm just a sucker for someone who shows real IQ behind there punches and style but I think he could be great.
BJS is akward as hell, maybe not elusive as Pernell but Calslappy is yet a good comparison for him, remains to be seen if BJS can slap the sht out of a Eubank sr, a Popkins or a Kessler.
BJS vs GGG is the top fight at 160.
GGG being saw overhall as the best, BJS being maybe the best pure boxer.
GGG should beat BJS and Jacobs and move up.
They are the 2 guys he should beat, BJS is the best contender IMO, Jacobs took Quillin's scalp and so he has to beat him in order to be saw as a complete unified champion.
GGG vs Eubank jr being a OK entertaining fight (with the Eubanks talking sht).

Maybe, but I really rank BJS high, I think he's an underrated fighter + bjs is bigger.
His style looks very difficult to deal with.
Remind me a bit of Calslappy.

Liam Smith is still an unknown quantity. He may be better off cashing out against Canelo and then moving up to Middleweight. If Frank could get Canelo in a stadium fight in England that would be a massive opportunity for Liam. Golden Boy would probably be open to the idea considering the finances and the small chance of an upset.
He does seem to have very slow feet and it's why I mentioned his stance as it attributes to it. But he does counter very well and could slow a very poor stamina BJS with those great body shots.
Think it'd be a great clash of styles.

BJS outboxes him all day.
Smith is too small and cement footed to avoid being outboxed from the outside by BJS.

Liam Smith is a title holder who's never fought a top 25 Super Welterweight. It's quite common for Frank Warren to get his fighters easy world title shots. Billy Joe Saunders won his title against a top 10 Middleweight. BJS has also had much better opposition on his way to the world stage. In my opinion Saunders could win an easy decision, with a stoppage win also possible.
I followed Saunders the same way I followed Smith....Saunders great rival from back in the day, Ryder was knocked out by Blackwell. I'm confident Smith wouldn't be blown out.
I think Saunders could potentially school Liam Smith, I think he is all wrong for Smith he is a good boxer and he would I suspect outbox him.
Smith hasn't fought the same caliber of opponents that BJS has that and I don't think Smith is particularly good at fighting people who can switch up their styles.
I think you need to look again at the middle/later rounds against Ryder and O'Sullivan. Saunders can be pinned on the ropes and Smith seems* rather good at it.
He also has a long Jab. But I respect your opinion and do think BJS could school him, he could school anyone on a given night,
