I dont get what people are upset about
Ali was a product of his time, his environment and was a young man.
You learn a lot over the span of a lifetime.
He was in an era where you couldnt eat, ****, talk to who you wanted to in the USA yet you can fight their wars or represent them in the olympics
My mom was born in the 50s and endured a lot of the bigotry of the time. It took her years to soften her feelings towards the police, the government and white people. She grew up in segregated alabama. She remembers going to the back of buses, restaurants, coloreds only signs, the whole 9 yards.
Growing up in a military town, and me and my siblings having multi-racial groups of friends helped soften her feelings.
as a child I agreed with his position. Why fight overseas when we have a war going on in our own country.
I dont agree with some of the things he said but most of them he backed up with experience.
Ali was human, he made mistakes but he became a hero of mine because he stood by his principles
How many people do you know that will jeopardize their livelihood, ability to make money, to stand by their morals? I dont know many. if you hold a gun to most peoples head or tell them all your earnings are gone if you dont denounce your God, they'd happily jump ship as long as they can keep their money
Ali was a stand up guy, made his mistakes and I hope he can rest in peace now.
You're a bit too white to call yourself black, boy. As I said, Ali made every black person on earth feel proud.
Funny he's "a bit too white" because Ali didn't make him feel proud.
Yet Ali was a bit white himself as his mother was mixed (an Irish Grand Father+ white Morehead heritage)
People are more mixed than what we actually think.

Yeah, indifferent. I liked him as a fighter but outside of that I don't feel one way or another. There was nothing he did that I would be ashamed about, every man has to answer for themselves
Ok that's fair I suppose.
When you say he didn't make you proud, do you mean as in he did nothing for you as in indifferent, or he made you ashamed?

ali haters are a sad pathetic bunch of ****less *******s , to come out from under there rocks and post vile hatefull **** on the day he died ??? show some class you pricks , ali meant a lot to a hell of a lot of people and its a sad minority that are hatefull twisted deucebags.:twak:
Haven't seen a lot of that but people are allowed to point out his flaws obviously and not be forced to lick arse just because he's 'the greatest' (a ridiculous term, anyway). He's extremely important in boxing history and if nothing else you can analyze his life from that point of view.
I liked Joe Louis' story more than Ali's; Joe Louis represented himself with class and dignity, which wasn't always the case with Ali.
Ali's flaws are part of the reason why his story is interesting.
Making him out to be perfect is downright delusional, but he was obviously an extremely special person who affected a lot of people.

bro stfu...the man is dead and meant a lot to a lot of people. You were probably one of the idiots spewing that bull on the web....stay out of my threads man.....matter a fact...ignore list you go...bye felicia
Can't handle the truth can you?
RIP cassius clay aka Muhammad ali, great fighter great human being overall
lets call a spade a spade, can we?
as much as I admire what he stood for, he was not perfect, who is?
was he a racist towards white folks ? YES he was so if you are offended of white folks saying bad things about him then **** your feelings
yes he was a product of his time but being a victim does not justify you to become the oppressor either.
I do believe that ali , of all the things he said could not have done what the ignorant hateful mother****ing supremacists have done in the past
overall he was a great man and only a human being.
Not really that racist I would say.
He said a lot of facts too. It would be like me saying 60% of all prisoners in america are black/hispanic, yet only make up 20% of the population hence are more likely to commit crime.
It's not racist it's just fact. Ali said multiple times that he didn't have anything against white folk, but he wanted black folk to be independent. Is that bad? No not really in my opinion.
And also, let's not act as if we know how it was to be a black man in the south during the 1950s and 1960s
Too white? Tell that to the police. A shame, black people talk about coming together then you get idiots like you who say dumb crap like that. SMH. Ali was light skinned, guess he was too white as well
When you say he didn't make you proud, do you mean as in he did nothing for you as in indifferent, or he made you ashamed?
RIP Ali.
He was a polarizing figure and people have strong feelings.
I just want to say thank you for your fights because that is what I personally will remember you by.
Even though I've watched these fights countless times I still get that boxing Buzz watching an all time great doing all time great things.
Maybe he called him that because that's who he knew him as? Don't you have friends/people you know that have changed their names but you still refer to them as the name you knew them as?
Ali changed his name in 1964, that was the year Frazier won his gold medal, i doubt they knew eachother..... But i know you are trolling
So, according to OP... not kissing Ali's ass = being racist??? LMAO
Ali was an idiot. Frazier and other boxers were smart enough to see through his bull****. Only sheeple believe "the greatest" self-branding garbage Ali was trying to peddle. Even Ali said it was all an act! Who was he? Or better yet who is he? He's dead and gone!! His body will be eaten by the maggots. and worms. He ain't no king!! Ali didn't feed me or clothe me or wipe my ass.
Why's that? That would have been the same as ali calling him frazier. The whole nation of islam thing was kind of trendy with the black community back then...some people didn't agree with it, and therefore refused to recognize the name changing.
Tell that to a nation of islam person back then and it was worse than calling them uncle tom or anything. They consider it their slave name. Thats why they put an X instead of their last name. They kind of have a point, their last name did come from their slave owner from decades ago. It doesnt matter what you think, its how they felt about it. Frazier did it to specifically make Ali mad, which is fine cuz its hype for a fight, but you cant put all the blame on Ali.
Frazier called him Clay, thats worst than uncle tom.

Ali's children are absolute ****ing disgraceful basttards. Not to mention Ali's only biological son has been shunned away from the family for a long time, like wtf. For all the good Ali has done he must answer to God for all this and he better have his reasons lined up well, saying that RIP champ.
