This fight should not be sanctioned, Haye would very brutally KO him.
Yeah, if they fight above 200, Haye might kill him.
Don't know at 200 how Haye can fight right now.
Haye is a killer puncher with blazing speed, Bellew is a flabby slow dude, seems to be heavy handed tough, and has balls, his tall size won't help him vs Haye who was himself a quite tall cruiserweight.
I think Haye would beat 20 Bellews in the same night.
Haye's quality is clear and most see it. If you don't you are blind, i think you do and the reason you don't want him to get a big fight is solely because you don't like the guy.
Chisora was seen as a top 10 HW, Ruiz was seen as a top 10 HW when Haye beat them, keep hating.
You're right, I don't like the guy and I don't see why he should get a big fight based off conning the public all over again. I understand that boxing is a business, however, and if it happens I won't lose any sleep over it.
That doesn't have any bearing on his shit resume though.
Based on his resume and that after 3 and half years he looks to still have the quality to compete against the best. Boxing is a business, Haye is still a fighter people want to see that alone makes him relevant. If he wasn't seen as a risk everyone in the division would be wanting to fight him for the money alone, they aren't and that speaks volumes.
And who does he have on his resume that puts him categorically above the likes of Povetkin or even Pulev? His resume at heavyweight is filled with has beens, no names and jokes like Harrison. Its strength rests solely on the Valuev win and how much stock you put into that, which considering that Valuev retired straight after and was legally declared disabled, I'd say you have to look at through a very critical lens.
Haye is relevant, that's why we are discussing him right now. He wants to fight Joshua and/or Wilder they are top HW's. People talk **** about Haye saying he doesn't fight top fighters and then make excuses why X and Y shouldn't fight him.
He's relevant in the fact that idiots still pay to watch him fight based on name alone. What was his last big win? Chisora? That was four years ago. And you're saying he has the third best resume in the division? Based on what?
Chagaev is finished as a top HW, if we are going to include him we should include Briggs too. :lol1:
As i said earlier there's only 2 or 3 of the current HW's that have a better resume than Haye.
If we're talking top heavyweights then perhaps Haye should try getting a big win that isn't seven years old and make himself relevant again.
You think Haye's training camp was free? Guys like Wilder got paid nothing to be Haye's sparring partners? Haye has been out of the ring for 3 and half years after having a serious shoulder injury, fighting bums is to be expected under such circumstances. Fights are made by risk/reward forget about "earning" a shot that's all bollocks. The reward is clear Haye is one of the biggest pay days out there for any HW, the risk is too great for them to chase it.
We are talking about David Haye here. Of course he paid Wilder and other big names to show up to his gym and take a video. He'd much prefer that, stroking his ego with edited sparring clips that show him doing well with these guys, then fighting a real fight against someone makes him a little scared.
David Haye's paper resume is all words at this point. Haye was once a potential superstar at heavyweight. Anymore, he's just a bullsh*t artist selling crap to people like you believing 'Oh well perhaps after 2-3 tune ups (lining his pockets) and a Briggs win, he will have enough balls to actually put his career on the line and take a risk for the greater good of boxing and potentially raise his career to a level it's never been'
But then again were just all here to support David Haye financially. The fact that this God would lace up gloves more than once a year is a true gift to the vitality of boxing.
What do current HW's have that's better? Only HW's i see that have a win clearly better than Valuev are Klitschko and Fury. The rest are debatable.
Well Chagaev also has a win over Valuev, first to do so and back when Valuev was still somewhat useful. So there's him as well. Then you've got Povetkin who just overall has a much stronger resume than Haye.
Good fight!! Both the same size like Haye said could fight at 205-210lbs. The build up will be good to watch. Bellew is a world champion so adds more to the bout. Will be an exciting fight whilst it lasts.
Haye does have a personality which rubs people up the wrong way. I can agree on that, as while I enjoy his "smack talk", he does wind up fighters/fans and I guess this gives them reason to tell him to **** off!
This is why I hope Joshua is being honest (I believe he is) when he says him, Fury and Haye all need to face each other, it has to happen. If it doesn't then its a missed opportunity.
Add Wilder into the mix (who I don't rate) but he is a champion and wouldn't it be great to see Joshua, Fury, Haye & WIlder all face each other over the next 2 years. But of course it won''t happen!
It should all happen. But the only way for let's say Joshua to force someone like Wilder in a fight is to destroy him on the public stage and embarrass him. It's a lost art and I think it largely hasn't been used because nobody media savy like Fury uses it. One important aspect is that you have to have the natural ability to trash talk. Floyd is okay at it and always got away with his mediocre trash talking because he was always such a bigger name against guys that wouldn't know the first thing about trash talking.
But this is just like a theory haha, but I bet with as many holes Wilder has in his bull**** resume and how he is being marketed, someone could come in and literally steal his star power by landing a fight and winning. Fury seems like the person to do this but it becomes meaningless to me because I feel like Wilder would want to fight him, rather then truly deadly foes like Haye, Joshua, Wlad
Haye's HW resume isn't good, but how many of the current HW's have better honestly? 2 or 3?
Depends how highly you rate the Valuev win. That's pretty much all he has at heavyweight that's worth talking about and Valuev, let's face it, sucked balls.
Fury and Haye had a fight going with each other. The real deal, promotions and everything and Haye pulls out at the very end relishing in Fury's lost expenses in training. I don't blame Fury at all for telling Haye to f*ck off because he back then was the clear underdog and Haye just screwed him over in a gutless way. I am absolutely convinced it became a reuse from the very beginning to just see how bad they can screw over this loud mouthed Tyson Fury.
As for guys ducking him, I think it's completely because Haye is flaky on pulling out of fights. He also is what we have to believe is a big name to have on your resume as a win, but then again he is a massive excuse maker. The way I see it, Haye is like Gamboa right now. They have ability, but their own ego out ways their own monetary worth. Haye may have the best resume but the same goes for James Toney. He has to prove it to land a big fight. Which isn't a hard task for him. If he could walk in and KO Pulev for instance...boom he's probably got himself in an excellent place to challenge Wilder, Fury, or Joshua. But fighting a couple no hopers in a build up to get ready for Briggs is pathetic

No mention of the fighters avoiding Haye?
Haye can't force the leading HW fighters to face him. This is why we are currently seeing the "loud mouths" call out Haye, as they know Haye will respond and fighters like Briggs get a payday, while Haye continues to rebuild.
That said, with me being fan of Haye, next year has to be the year that he fights for a HW title, and I think we all know its going to happen. I'm looking forward to seeing Haye becoming champion of the world and showing why certain fighters have been avoiding him.

Yea it seriously is a sad state of where Heavyweight division is now a days. Nobody wants to raise the bar because it means taking an unnecessary risk. Haye, even having one of the better resume's, has never been taken seriously with his embarrassing loss to Wlad cementing that. He has amazing ability but he is spineless and doesn't have the heart/passion to truly rise to Wlad's level. To do that he'd have to center his focus on career defining wins that would make his enemies respect him. But instead he just is feeding on his mediocre nostalgic path to landing a fight w/ Wlad, where people thought he might be something special. But no, he has shown his true colors time and time again. Fighting Brigg's honestly just makes it worst, but it's David Haye, how could you pass up free money against a no hoper?

How many CW's has Haye fought since moving to HW? :dunce:
Excuse me, I shouldn't have said cruiserweight. That was wrong. But what hold's true is his sh*t resume at heavyweight, maybe his biggest claim to fame stopping bum Chisora or old man John Ruiz
This is a quintessential type David Haye opponent. Small, flabby, cruiserweight who doesn't have the boxing ability to even compete.
David Haye is a p*ssy. Only way he gets his balls back is winning against Joshua/or Wilder, and if not winning, going out on his shield
