I've noticed Europe hosts boxing events with a capacity for more in stadiums superior to anywhere in the US. Why not open up our college football stadiums for max capacity and see how it works?
Soccer, cricket, rugby union, rugby league, golf, tennis, maybe horse racing and F1. I count 6-8.
In America, football, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, college football, college basketball, NASCAR, golf, tennis. That's 10 without a doubt. After that, you can argue until your face turns blue. Horse racing and MMA have a very good argument. Obviously we have a lot more people than you, but boxing barely exists. If it wasn't for the internet, it wouldn't exist.
College football and basketball shouldn't count as separate sports. Thats bizarre. Theres really not much difference. The breaks are different, and I think the shot clock etc is different for basketball, but they are roughly the same sport just slightly different administrations. With Rugby League and Union, most of the rules are different, the teams are different, the countries who participate are different. The only things the same are the rugby ball, and a field, which is also a different size, lol.
Boxing is niche in both countries, we're just more passionate about it here (or it seems so) because a lot of the big fights are in home stadiums like last night. Another thing worth noting about UK sports though, is what I like to call the 'sport lad culture' - where you're a 'sports fan', you get little tidbits of all the popular sports going around, much like ESPN tries to do, but it seems a lot more successful here. Its emphasised a lot more when betting companies here have practically taken over, and have started to popularise being a general sports fan as opposed to single sports. Boxing obviously gets a lot of exposure this way. At the end of the day, talent pools come and go.

you can look up individual lists for both but there's a side by side
Well other than my hesitance to add Formula 1, I was pretty spot on. Not bad considering I only really watch Boxing and Snooker, lol.

"Football" and "college football" are not two different sports.
That's like saying WBA, WBC and AIBA are all different "sports".
Please name 9 sports more popular than boxing in the UK.

Cowboys Stadium does some boxing. I think in most areas it'd be unprofitable is the problem. All of middle America probably wouldn't come out to even partially fill a stadium for anything except super fights. Just makes more sense to throw most of these events in Vegas cuz Vegas hooks mfers up since it brings in so many people who are gonna gamble away who knows how much money.
If the US ever quits being the wannabe moral compass Jesus land of the world they might legalize online gambling & it might allow for Vegas to become less of a stronghold for fights.
I remember McGregor vs Aldo was supposed to be in cowboys stadium but the fight ending up at the mgm grand

Football
Cricket
Tennis
Rugby League and Union (technically two sports)
Golf
and I guess horse racing with the Grand National
It's still pretty niche though. We have the popular names, but its not the same as being a popular sport. I'm tempted to add Formula 1 in there, but i'm not too sure
Boxing is dead in America.
Not really. Almost every source I can google seems to place boxing at about the 10th most popular sport in both the US and UK. Maybe 11th in US, 9th in UK, sometimes both 10th, but all of them are thereabouts.
The US has 5 times the population of the UK. Much bigger fanbase.
US boxers are just of a lower quality I think. Boxers are treated more like normal athletes in the UK. In the US it's always been seen as a sport for the dredges of society, something where you scout slums, find a 8 year old and shoot him up with steroids and leave him illiterate at age 30. It developed around carnivals and race riots and whatnot.
The superiority of overseas boxers can be evidenced by the American heavyweight vanishing practically at the apex of his popularity. We went from Tyson-mania to extinction right when communism fell. Then just when Americans thought up the "NFL" excuse, all of their middleweights vanished a month later. They had no choice but to suck foreign ****!
Yep, there's no denying that USA boxing is in an inferior league. Maybe they can have their own special division, similar to the women's division. Then lumpy drunkards like Joe Frazier can still pretend to be "fearsome warriors". LOL!

Nothing to do with jesus land. Vegas & reservation casinos know if online gambling is legalized they become a wasteland so shoot down every attempt.
It would do to casinos what Amazon did to Barnes&Noble. "People will still go there for the coffee and atmosphere" -- nah too lazy.
The UK is pretty small in comparison and most places are easy to get to by rail or by road and take just a couple of hours to get to in most cases. That's why it's easy to fill a stadium over here.
