GGG is a good fighter but their comes a time when a fighter and their team have to take responsibility for the position they are in.
Abel Sanchez has been running his mouth and making declarations since GGG hit HBO. MR. 154-175 They have turned down fights like everyone else, for whatever reasons, yet he gets a pass for having a thin resume against elite opponents, yet the same people who play damage control for him, trash fighters who are more accomplished and fought better opposition.
Mike McCallum was avoided by one of the most famous groups of fighters of all time. Duran, Leonard, Hagler and Hearns. He didnt whine, no one made excuses for him, he fought other top fighters like Sumbu Kalambay and James Toney, moved up in weight and actually won titles from 154,160, and 175
guys like Charley Burley, Aaron Pryor, Holman Williams and dozens of other fighters were avoided like the plague but no one made excuses for them
want to talk about avoided.....Hagler didnt get a title fight until 50 fights in whereas GGG is 35 fights in and 2/3 belts that he holds he didnt even win in the ring. He was happy to sit their and be elevated with fighting anyone
GGG is a good fighter but how long are you guys gonna ride that "wont nobody fight him horse" when Mike McCallum was ducked by better fighters, still had a hall of fame resume and actually won titles from 154-175? He fought on until he was 40 because his big fights didnt come until he was past prime. The same happened to Archie Moore. Who was avoided at his best.
These haters hate on GGG because he is a white European. Who the fuk should he move up when he has no trouble making weight and the biggest fight is at middleweight???
Us white people arent like black and mexicans. We stay in one weight class. Look at Froch. Always fighting and DOMINATING at 168 with them heavy hands.
Do you move out when de blacks and Mechicans move in?
absolutely, they just want to make money before the big risk this is what I tell everyone
thats what they are doing with canelo. Mayweather wasnt a puncher so his stock wasnt gonna drop that much even if his ears were boxed off(which they were)
its no secret that managers and promoters put you in the best position to make more money and get easier wins...its not that deep but his fans dont want to see it
he is ducked by some, i admit that but he his team has also put up roadblocks or excuses not to fight certain fighters whether it be about $$$, the weight, etc.
they play risk vs reward like everyone else. Its disrespectful as hell to claim all these guys at 154-168 are AFRAID of another man when its actually just a few ducking him. If he was so feared, the no names he batters wouldnt sign to fight him but he will make decent money from k2 and hbo weather its a can, a mandatory or a decent contender
who do you think he'll end up fighting next.
I like GGG's style and skill as a boxer puncher. but when that happened it opened my eyes that they play risk vs reward like everyone else. he isnt as ducked as the media and his die hards tries to make it out to be

He was willing to fight Ward, but Ward wasn't ready for him back then and probably couldn't have made 168 anyway.
The offer Roc sent after GGG had signed to fight Lemieux was a PR stunt. It was meant to be rejected so that Ward could tell everybody ... "See ... li'l g won't fight me"
they wanted no parts of ward, its nothing to cover up, its just a fact. he was willing to fight anyone at that weight, except ward... maybe it was his team but the bottom line is they didn't want it. its not like he ducked him... they like most fighters just want to make good money before taking a big risk like that
Al Haymon invited team lil g to his vast garden of potential opponents
and they ran straight to the cherry tree and plucked Wade from it.
That is all we need to know.

race card? throw that out the window. nobody even mentioned race. This dude is not as much ducked as his team is selective on who and what weight he will fight at
His resume sucks for a so call p4p champion. when will he fight a top level opponent. guarantee you he fights another no name next. defend that, but im a hater for speaking the truth. deal with it.

Things are not always about race. As with most popular fighters, posters in this forum go to great measures to troll and antagonize overzealous fans of certain boxers; currently it's Mayweather, Pac, Ward, Canelo and GGG. Take it as a sign of respect.
In regards to the bold, hopefully you don't honestly believe that and are doing a little trolling of your own......

Mccallum had a bunch of big fights.. The fought fought toney 2 times for the middleweight crown and that was after having a fantastic run at 154...
He may have not landed the monster fights vs any of the fab 4, but he did land a lot of significant fights.. Ggg can't say the same
He was avoided by big names until he was past prime....in the 80s he was all risk and no reward to the stars
He fought Jones, Toney, well into his 30s and Jones was in his 3rd division
he was ducked too but didnt make excuses to fight crap mandatories and no names

I'm all for fighters getting big paydays if they deserve it. Golovkin certainly has earned it. That said, it works both ways. I hope Canelo fights him at 160 but I won't be surprised if he doesn't and I can't say I blame him either. He's the bigger name and the more accomplished fighter. So naturally he'll pull rank during negotiations. And like so many before him, Golovkin will either sacrifice to get that big fight or he'll keep fighting his bum of the month list. And that's that.
if he isnt willing to concede, his fanatics better be prepared to defend a slew of bums of the month types aka mandatories
You mean he shouldnt be willing to move up for a career payday vs a guy he whooped on during sparing for a chance to become a superstar?

Ok dumb azz show me where negotiations took place or where the fights actually had a chance of being made?
You Floyd fanboys are so ignorant. Where is the proof that ward actually wanted to fight GGG!? Where!? Because he said it in an interview? Keep swallowing it all up homo .
:lol1:
Drop me a line when you're off the rag
He was willing to move up for Chavez Jr. before accomplishing that goal. Try a new excuse.

you're wasting your time trying to explain the Ward situation to those idiots, because they like to deny facts that dont support their narrative. And even if GGG had accepted that sucker deal back then, the fight STILL wouldnt have happened yet lol
absolutely, once he was willing to fight Chavez Jr or Froch but not ward I knew what time it was even though im still a fan,

GGG being "ducked" isnt a good enough excuse for his resume when mike McCallum was 2 | BoxingScene Community
