I always wondered why this fight hasn't picked up any steam, especially with DJ in the public eye more because of his work on PBC. I think besides Canelo that would be the next most interesting fight at MW what do you think?
Interesting, I did not know that. But if the fight doesn't happen, it will be because "Lil' ass G a coward who ain't fought nobody."
Personally, and you might call me crazy, I have a sneaking suspicion that GGG detractors do not want this fight to happen. Because let's face it: GGG ruins Jacobs, we all know that. Since Jacobs is a top middleweight, beating him would make GGG look good which would drive the detractors nuts. But if the fight doesn't happen, they can use every excuse in the world as to how its GGG's fault.
Just a theory, I could be wrong of course.
the detractors will always find excuses
If he beats Lara, oh but hes a jr middleweight though. A pathetic attempt to implement a lose-lose scenario for Golovkin.
Beats Jacobs then he has no chin anyway. The Quillin fight could be a fluke
Saunders isn't a good win already, apparently. Same for Eubank.
Murray lost to Martinez though, even though in reality Murray was a very good win. He arguably beat Martinez, and moved up to beat a solid Abraham.
Lemiuex instantly named a bum, even though he beat a solid N'Dam
My favourite new one is 'Wade and Willie Monroe though' a convenient little grouping, even though they are too vastly different scenarios. A very lame attempt.. Monroe was an awful opponent. We can't blame Golovkin for wanting to drop a recognised world title because the IBF made a bad call.
Of course, there's the inevitable 'ducked Ward doe' that won't ever die. Probably the worst of the lot. Doesn't it all sound familiar when Mayweather was the hot topic here? The irony of it all

Oh I have no doubt that team Jacobs will wait for the purse bid instead of trying to negotiate a deal... I think he destroys him as well, there's nobody at 160 who will trouble him at the moment...
Probably because Jacobs vanished into thin air after no one watched his win over Quillin. Honestly, these Haymon guys get no push, hype, have no following but want millions.
HBO vs Showtime/PBC. Won't happen unless one fighter breaks from their contract. This is one of the reasons we need a federal boxing commission. The networks shouldn't get to dictate who fights who.
Jacobs has no contract....they sacrificed Domenic Wade to HBO, I doubt they will do the same to Jacobs.

They built up the Quillen-Jacobs fight on PBC then took the fight to showtime because they had to pay the 2 of them $3 million in purses...only like 250,000 watched the fight and 8000 fans went to see the two guys from that town...
Now Jacobs hasn't been seen since December and has nothing planned until the end of July...
I really want to see the fight but have a feeling that even though Jacobs is not a big name, showtime/PBC won't let him go over to HBO for the fight.
We shall see, Jacobs and Saunders are the only 2 at 160 worth fighting for GGG right now..
Relax, he's been down twice in 34 fights.
Once to someone that had great potential.
The other in a flash knockdown that was more due to balance than him actually being hurt.
Sergio Mora caught him with a soft shot cause we all know Mora has no power what so ever
