This article states that Daniel Geale was the first fight of GGG's 4-fight deal. Since then GGG has fought 5 times on HBO & once on HBO PPV.

There should be some good offers coming from Haymon/Mayweather & Showtime for GGG very soon.
You're missing the point that Martinez and Cotto were never getting in the ring with GGG. HBO couldn't make them do it... You can't force people to fight you if they don't want to. Canelo will fight him but we just don't know when. They're throwing around 100 excuses when the fight is the biggest in boxing to be made right now... HBO can't make Canelo fight him though...
HBO was the one paying them if HBO says Golovkin or nothing Martinez for sure would have come to the table, Cotto maybe maybe not or Canelo which has ramification for all of GBP. Money talks and bull**** walks, but there were fights out there that HBO saw more money (or the ability to hold onto mutlipl star fighters) in so there was no desire to really push the best middleweight.
This thread is about Golovkin as a free agent or close to free agent so a lot for what you are saying has nothing to do with anything here. Golovkin having been built now has actual leverage over HBO in the event his contract is up or near up so he can put them into a position where he can what he wants, because HBO obviously given their history is not going to just bend over backwards for him. They can balk and walk away or they will finally come through for Golovkin but Golovkin would be foolish to just hope things would work out without applying maximum pressure.
They have been hyping up as this most feared man uncrowned champion for years now, if they would have truly pushed him back then he would be much further along in his q-rating than he is now and a lot of bs wouldn't even be need to be talked about.
HBO could have made something happen, now with their budget woes is may be a bit different but they had the names and resources while Golovkin was already their man. Yea they like Golovkin to a degree and they will pay to keep him on the hook, but Golovkin has wanted big fights and HBO has not come through for him at all. Will they this time perhaps, but for all the times the have strung him along he should use his power to get what he really wants and not just depend on HBO to do something for him.

Well honestly GGG was a virtual nobody then and those fights made money for them. Now they've pushed him harder than they ever did Martinez that's for sure... They want the big fights for him but what can they do if Saunders,Jacobs, and Canelo don't want the fight right now. I'm sure they're not happy paying millions for a Wade fight but in the end the payoff will be big I'm sure if he gets those fights.

Because going back to when Martinez was champion HBO always wanted a different fight for the middleweight crown, HBO pushed for Martinez-Cotto, let Cotto BS then pushed for Cotto-Canelo, now letting Canelo BS.
HBO has paid him well but they never once put him above any of those other guys and forced the issue, so while they are paying him well they are also not giving him what he wants or allowing him to really get to the next level so yes they are jerking him around~

How's that happening? They just aired him vs a bum nobody ever heard of and he made $2 million for it.they went to Monte Carlo where there were only 700 people in the crowd and aired that fight as well.. HBO has been more than good to GGG and his team... HBO can't make other fighters get in the ring with GGG, that's beyond their abilities...

He should become a free agent so fans don't have to endure dealing with silly tweeters like Lara and Decubas being so bold in dropping his name just because it won't happen anyway due to network issues.
HBO would pay him the same amount if they want him.
Why would GGG jump ship to a failing PBC and showtime who nobody even watches their fights...
They'd have to pay him twice what he gets for his HBO fights to lure him over there... Not happening...
He shouldn't jump ship by signing a contract with the other side, but he shouldn't resign with HBO and limit his options either. Be a free agent and play both sides. He can do a ppv vs Chavez Jr and Danny Jacobs and DeGale/Jack on Showtime, go back and fight Canelo on HBO.
Kovalev f*cked up signing a contract with HBO, it cost him the Stevenson fight. Top fighters should stay free agents. It's actually paying off for Provodnikov, and not being tied to HBO is what allowed Lomachenko to knock off Russell, otherwise imagine the trash we'd have to listen to about how Russell would beat Lomo.
If he is or even if his contract is near up he should be looking to cash in, he is no spring chicken so he needs to get whatever while the getting is good. If HBO continues to jerk him around with the middleweight title fights that he has needed for years, then Golovkin needs this leverage to get what he wants.
He would be in a very good spot and would be wise to shop around because that will only drive his price up no matter what he decides to do.

Well after the Wade fight, Sam Watson spoke with GGG a couple times. They seems very cordial with each other. Who knows what was said :)
Sam Watson actually said he was one of GGG's "best friends" in a pre-fight interview I saw.
Of course, he also said Wade would win the fight, so you might want to take some of this with a grain of salt.
It probably doesn't mean much. Or maybe they hang out. Who knows?
