Khan brings in more money to the table than Berto, Maidana, and Bradley COMBINED.
Many believe that Floyd and Pac ducked Khan. Remember, Floyd made a poll and asked fans to vote b/w Maidana and Khan. Khan won the poll, and Floyd still went with the lesser money option in Maidana.
So, if you truly believe that Floyd and Pac did not duck Khan, then why would they leave extra money on the table?
Maidana was coming off of the Broner win which lets be honest Broner was being brought along and built up to be sacrificed to Floyd to do big numbers, I think the Chino Floyd fight would have done better than Khan by far Garcia left his imprint on Khan.
Why didnt Khan get the PAC fight ? The guy aligned himself with Haymon I guess and they wanted to keep profits in house just like Haymon does, Top Rank aint no different or better.
Exactly this...
You talk about all this speed and volume that amir has. But algeiri, peterson, garcia,Prescott, diaz all handled that speed and volume and they didn't do it using speed. They stayed close to him. He has no inside game . And it will be exposed again on may 7. Floyd would just potshots khan and once khan gets close enough he would clinch and make khan restart. Khan has the physical attributes to beat floyd. He just doesn't have the mind to beat floyd
Khan is a fast fighter, but he isn't a smart fighter. And that has always been his downfall. And that will be his downfall on Saturday.
Great post! Khan is not in Floyd's or Manny's league. Matter of fact, noone at welterweight is. Khan would get KO'ed by Manny and hurt against Floyd. He makes too many mistakes and isn't smart enough. That's the bottom line. People can say well, Floyd and Manny didn't fight him. So! Manny didn't fight him because he priced himself out!!!!!!! Floyd didn't fight him because he did to Floyd, what Floyd does to everyone else. LoL. Talk too much!!! It was fun to see Khan get under his skin. Hahaha. Anywho, great post!
timing is great but you need reaction speed and handspeed to actually execute the punch, hence why Floyd is the best counterpuncher in the sport. He can literally pull/counter someone within a split second, combine that with blinding handspeed and a fighters output will drastically reduce.
Amirs volume and speed causes problems for fast fighters, its far easier to time and counter someone with slow handspeed and low output. Then add that Amir has comparable arm length to floyd which also negates one of Floyd's main advantages.
Tarver and forrest werent slow btw, and they also had a signficant height/arm length advantage over Roy and Shane.

Khan looked to have clear shot at getting the Mayweather fight over Maidana, but he canceled his fight with Devon Alexander for the IBF title and sat idle for a long time.
Khan accomplished nothing during his time at 147, I still can't figure out why he's so highly regarded? His best wins were Juda and Mallinaggi, that's not impressive, especially when you factor in he's been KO'd badly twice.
timing negates speed.
ask pacquiao about marquez
ask mosley about forrest
ask roy jones about tarver

because Khan has speed and height
Speed negates speed. Is it a coincidence that Floyd wants to fight Danny Garcia next? Come on people, dont be blind. If you were in Floyds or Pacquiaos position would you really fight khan?
Pacquiao actually used to spar khan and accordingly to Alex Ariza lost more than he won (atleast when Khan became more experienced), Khan won more rounds but it only took 1 punch for Pacquiao to hurt khan. Which to me sounds accurate, esp with the headgears and big gloves.
So much gold in this post :rofl:
I'm pretty sure Mayweather and Berto had some personal issues. I wouldn't be surprised if that influenced Mayweather's decision to fight him last instead of Khan.
Lets be honest, even an old Pacquiao and Mayweather are far too much for Khan. They would both demolish him.
Oscar lined up khan for Floyd twice and both time khan lost.
Floyd vs Ortiz 9/11
khan vs Peterson 12/11
Oscar said that mayweather vs khan was next. khan lost a controversial decision.
Floyd fought cotto next instead, with jail pending. khan was rumored to be floyds next opponent if he beat lamont in the rematch.
khan vs Peterson rematch was canceled due to ped use by Peterson.
khan fought danny instead and gktfo.
that was the end of any serious talk about mayweather vs khan.
de la hoya had mayweather waiting on deck for khan twice and both times khan lost.

Yep this is the reality. I think the only time Khan has truly been a legit option is the recent fights. I would have preferred him to Bradley or Berto.
But just look at his record. A guy who doesn't have a win over a top 5 opponent in any division since 2010 can't bitch about being denied a PPV headline.
Khan has spent five years crying about the Mayweather fight instead of going out and putting himself in a position where people would be demanding it. No one else is to blame for him getting knocked out by Danny Garcia.

When was Khan a legit candidate for the fight? Obviously the cold war nonsense limited the opportunity to fight Pac, but he was really only in line for the Floyd fight at the tail end of 2011. Then he lost to Peterson which ended any hope of that.
If he had a good 2012 he might well have gotten the fight ahead of Guerrero in 2013, as Guerrero was a garbage opponent for Floyd. But he got knocked out by Danny which completely derailed him. He would have been a better pick than Berto too but then anyone would have been. He would have been a better pick than Bradley a third time as well.
But I honestly think it's mostly his own fault. Consider this, he hasn't beaten a top 5 opponent since 2010. Five and a half years ago. Who the fuck is he to complain?

Just say it guys: Khan is a riskier fight for Pac and May. A speedy, rangy WW with boxing ability. And neither guy known for their KO power at 147 or above.
Khan is just about the only guy who is faster than Floyd and definitely speedier than Pac. That being said: I still think both guys beat him. But in no way would it be easy for em.
There was zero proof Khan was gonna be a big seller. I still don't get people implying he was 4th or 5th biggest draw in boxing more or less (beyond Floyd, Manny, Miguel &/or Canelo). He's got 0 PPV's as of today from my understanding.
It's the biggest myth in boxing.
He has had ONE PPV............ and he got knocked out in the 1st round.
What money is he bringing?
People need to stop confusing Khan with Hatton.
some real gullible clowns up in this forum...Since you have already predicted a smashing win for Khan over 4 to 1 favorite Canelo we will see who is a gullible clown on Sunday morning after the fight. Maybe it's you.
I think neither like him and his yapping and neither wanted to give him the payday , both take Khan to school in so many ways , nobody that struggles with Algieri and has been KOed a number of times by guys Floyd and Manny beat easy have any chance to beat them , its only Amir fanboys that have this weird idea Khan is going to pitter patter amateur style and steal the fight , he would be schooled .
I don't think Khan brings all that money to the table. Khan is quite greedy and prices himself out of fights, Khan demands lots of money for himself. Team Khan asks for more money for Khan than Bradley, Berto and Maidana combined. Khan had NO win at 147 to earn a fight with Mayweather or Pacquiao. Berto was indeed a cherry pick for Mayweather but several other welterweights like Thurman, Bradley, Garcia, Brook and Porter would all be better choices and more deserving opponents than Khan. Nobody is afraid of the big glass jaw. Khan just deludes himself into thinking they are.
Khan's ideal opponent is a soft-punching boxer who he can pepper with fast combinations and not really worried about being KO'd. Floyd does his best work against flat footed punchers looking for a KO. It's clear why Floyd kept passing on Khan and fighting guys who lost to Khan, Khan's lesser gym mates, etc.
The Pacquaio thing I'm not sure. Definitely at first there was the issue of both being with Roach and the bad blood the separation must have created (real bad blood -- not the fake kind used to promote fights). Later on I didn't keep track.
