If Mayweather returns and returns this September who do you want him to fight and what fighter would be worth that 9 figure salary that a network will pay out?
Poll incoming...
Canelo rematch(beats Khan)
Would it generate that type of money by PPV sales and would fans really want spend again after the first fight disaster.
Khan(beats Canelo)
Brings something different to the table if he beats Canelo I'm sure fans would be calling for this fight he climbs the P4P ladder also brings UK money.
Thurman(beats Porter)
Brings something different to the table but not very known with the causals.
Porter(beats Thurmans)
Never fought Mayweather but brings nothing new.
Brook
Has a title, brings UK money but not very known and doesn't have a huge win.
Pacquiao rematch
Does the sales but last fight put off the causals from boxing even hardcore fans wanted to disown boxing lol.
GGG
Only fighter on the list that can beat Mayweater well known to the causals only issue is weight.
Other
List name.
This thread is almost identical to a thread on here yesterday. Just like that thread it is unclear if it means you should vote for the fight that is best for Mayweather or vote for the fight you want him to take for yourself as a fan. I think the best fight for Mayweather is Pacquiao so that's how I voted. I think it's his biggest money fight and a fight he would probably win. I am a fan of GGG so my choice for myself would be for Mayweather to fight GGG at a weight limit of 154 pounds. I think the are both great and if they were exactly the same age and size I think it would be an even fight. But GGG is younger, bigger and has a huge edge in punching power. Mayweather is faster and a better boxer. GGG is an excellent boxer himself with a killer left jab. Hard punching middleweights punches don't bother GGG at all. Mayweather can't hurt him but he can and would knock Mayweather out in my opinion.
I am trying to understand if GGG as the biggest pay day is some kind of joke. I've read that a couple of times now, I am baffled as to what makes people think a guy who did 97k PPV buys and sells out $30-400 tickets is some kind of crazy dance partner that will get Floyd $100 million. I'm thinking it's some advanced sarcasm.
And I think many people are overlooking that Floyd never said there is one opponent who will get him 9 figures. Correct me if i'm wrong, he said he's in talks with CBS/Showtime and that he's had 9 figures thrown at him. This doesn't exactly specify it's one fight, it could be something like a 2 fight deal worth 9 figures. If it's just one fighter, it certainly is not Golovkin.
I think it would sell a lot because ESPN would hype the fight considerably. I am not being sarcastic. I think ESPN has significant impact on what sporting events casual fans watch.
If they get behind the marketing and promotion of a Floyd/GGG fight I think that could push sales well above Canelo and ODH.
It's not suggesting GGG is a PPV seller, its suggesting that "Floyd losing by KO" is still something that can move units.

I think an undefeated GGG would make him 9 figures and the most money since HBO/ESPN would play the "Floyd will get destroyed" card over and over to sell the fight.
A Manny rematch would be the next biggest fight and he would get 9 figures because he wouldn't make the fight otherwise.
I don't see how he gets a 9 figure payday for anyone else. Maybe his total take reaches 9 figures once the gate, ppv sales, concessions, etc are tabulated but I doubt it.
to bring in big figures floyd needs to be matched with somebody people think can beat him. If he is in against a guy who isn't seen as a threat he will do berth type figures
Espinoza is supposed to have come to his senses by now that there's really no profit in investing with this greedy guy. Showtime is just now recovering from the financial havoc team Haymon/TBE wreaked. Last year was a disaster.
TBE by himself is really not a draw unless he's paired up with a marketable guy. This guy doesn't deserve guarantees of astronomical proportions. But it's CBS money doe. They can burn it all they want.
