Vargas is more worthy in my judgement, for defeating the previously undefeated Sadam Ali and Errol Spence, Jr. Is worthy for stopping the never been KO before Chris Algieri. Also, let's not forget the winner between Keith Thurman vs Shawn Porter. This is just another obviously cowardly attempt, by Danny Swift to challenge and cherry pick another diminished, shop worn opponent, where he would be the heavy favorite because he is obviously ducking and avoiding those aforementioned guys. With four losses on his record, Berto is not ready for an undefeated Danny Garcia.

Garcia's career has been incredibly frustrating. He's a good talented kid but ever since his Matthysse fight all he's had is filled fights, which would be good stay active fights if every once in a while he was taking on another good solid fighter, but he always has those "meh, this will do for now fights". Berto is another meh fight.

Its up in the air. In February the WBC started looking for a new mandatory challenger. However, i've heard that a final decision may not come until Canelo KO's Khan. The Golovkin-Canelo debacle is seriously damaging the WBC's 'credibility' and 'image' (I know, but bear with me), so if Canelo obliterates Khan don't expect him to be mandatory. Berto is a step down from Guerrero. I didn't think that was up for debate. The PBC needs to distance itself from the reputation that it has for low-quality matchmaking... as we saw with Leo Cruz and Wilder for so long and we are still seeing with Stevenson, who will be facing the 4th consecutive sub-top 10 opponent. I don't think Garcia-Berto would be a wise move.. Yup. If anything they should consider doing a Berto vs Guerrero rematch and if Berto wins it can put him back up on top, at least in the eyes of most fans. Garcia desperately needs to move on to bigger better things.

Khan rematch? He's gonna fight Berto and then fight a Khan coming off a loss against Canelo? I'd rather see DSG fight a Porter or a Thurman. Khan is the mando.

Face it guys, Garcia/Berto is inevitable. I'll be shocked if it's not next. It pretty much is if Ortiz wins. They can easily set that up in L.A.'s StubHub Center or even Barclay's if they want to go East. If Berto wins it might get a little trickier.

Garcia vs Thurman Porter winner or Brook is what I would prefer. Not a big fan of the Brook fight, but maybe that's just because I dislike Brook as a fighter. I don't see him wanting to take on any decent challenges after the Porter win. All he does it talk about how he wants to fight this guy or that guy in the media but when the time comes he's quiet as a church mouse.

Garcia vs. Berto would be meaningless. Garcia vs. Ortiz would probably be fun at least. Garcia would eventually crack the mental midget with a G.A.R.S.H. though. I think you're right. Garcia vs Ortiz would be more exciting but I don't think Berto's gonna lose to Ortiz.

Garcia should fight Brook really, both need an opponent soon and both could probably do with a high profile fight again. Also if he dares go to England for that fight, he'll make a fortune. Porter v Thurman are tied up until end of June anyway and they're looking to make a big fight for Brook towards the end of July. Why not get a Garcia v Brook unification fight and then let the winner of Porter v Thurman fight the winner of that later in the year? I don't think they will let Garcia fight Brook though. I fully expect he does fight the winner of Ortiz v Berto which would be a joke. Either that or he's waiting it out on a decision to see if Floyd comes back for one last fight, because Garcia is going to be the opponent i think.

Nah. Garcia is proven. Its time to take down the top guys. No more gatekeepers. Next fight has to be a Thurman or Porter. Like the others said, Berto/Ortiz is perfect for a guy like Errol Spence.

Nah this would be a wack matchup. I'd like to see Garcia in there with a top WW. Not particularly excited to see Spence fight them either. Peterson is a great fight for Spence right now.
