Which are the most obvious cases of ducking in modern boxing?
While I think Frampton would have a good chance at beating Rigo, he is just running scared from him now.
Canelo is probably the most obvious case, having made his own weight class to avoid Golovkin.
Stevenson just doesn't seem like he wants to fight anyone good, especially not Kovalev.
Those are just 3 among many examples.
Mayweather, when he said (on camera) that he would not fight Pacquiao cos Pacquiao could hurt him.
This has got to be the richest duck in history.
Also, most recently, we've got Kovalevs team pulling out of purse bids v Stevenson. Not sure who's ducking who here but it's damn bad.
Oh and Ward been ducking every legit fighter on the planet since 2013 minimum, talking about almost 4 years worth of tunes ups now.
I've never seen anything like Golovkin vs Ward. Golovkin openly admitted he was scared.
Golovkin wouldn't be able to beat a truly great boxer like Ward and he knows it himself.
Floyd ducked Khan, GGG, and Broner.
Floyd is retired and he's still ducking everyone, what a disgraceful coward.
Khan?
Broner?
2 fighters with huge flaws.
GGG is 2 weights above Floyd.
How about Khan ducking Brook?
That is Khan's swan song.
As soon as he loses to Brook. Which he will do. That will be him retiring and going into training.
Floyd ducking Khan and Bradley ducking Khan. The two most undeniably blatant examples of ducking in the history of boxing.
Floyd put up a public poll to choose his next opponent, between Khan and Maidana. Khan wins the poll but Floyd ducks him and fights Maidana - someone Khan already beat.
Bradley stated on a live radio interview that Khan was too dangerous a fight and that if he lost the fight he'd be out of the Mayweather/Pac sweepstakes.
Without a shadow of a doubt, the two clearest examples of ducking in recorded history. There's no question.

I think you hit on two of the most obvious candidates for ducking.
Canelo would have to be at the top of the list.
Stevenson seems pretty high up there too but he's starting to feel like an irrelevant fighter at this point.
Cotto, as much as I like him blatantly ducked Golovkin....that was pretty disappointing to me. But maybe it's better that he didn't take that fight. It likely would have been disastrous.
Some of the most obvious recent ones,
Frampton ducking Rigo
Floyd ducking Khan
Cotto ducking Khan/GGG
Canelo ducking GGG (1000 bucks this coward even ducks him if he agrees to 155)
Frampton is probably ducking Rigo but Rigo generates no money at all, so that's easy to understand from a business perspective. He can fight other good fighters and get paid more for it, that i can understand. Still not great for the boxing fan though.
Canelo is ducking GGG, no doubt. I believe he'll keep moving the goalposts too. Anytime to GGG agrees to anything, Canelo will probably come up with another demand, that's my prediction. The difference here is that Canelo v GGG could probably be promoted to be huge. GGG might not have done great PPV numbers but if these two have each other as their dance partner and HBO hyping it, it will be a huge fight i think. Who else can Canelo fight after the Khan fight that people are going to be excited about and get people spending money to watch? only GGG i think. So that's just going to be a straight up ducking.
I have never seen anyone as scared of Canelo, it takes all of his manliness away to run from Golovkin like that. It's absolutely pathetic.

The poll Floyd made Khan won. That is what happend. These are the facts.
.............and the other two polls that were made shouldn't count....... right.
Forget the days of actually proving your worth in the ring, win some poll (1 out of 3) and that is enough.
Boxing.
Throwing a belt in a trashcan is about as bad as it gets.
But aside from that Michalczewski hanging out in the German witness protection program so he would never have to see Roy Jones.
There were 3 polls made............... Maidana won 2 of them.
But you're right, Floyd ducked Khan because he choose the majority over the minority.
