Not sure if there's been a thread yet or not but I was just reading the newspaper and I noticed there was a advert for the Pacquaio-Bradley fight and it's on PPV!
It's been picked up by Premier Sports (the unknown channel at the bottom of the sports section that Froch used to fight on in 2009) I wasn't even aware that channel still existed. They're charging £9.99.
I don't know who's bright idea it was to put this underwhelming fight on PPV the same day as the biggest star in England at the moment is having his first World Title attempt also on PPV. Surely no one is going to buy AJ vs Martin and then also pay for this? I doubt people would pay for it anyway let alone on the same day as AJ-Martin.
I'm guessing sky nor Boxnation were willing to pay for the rights. I'm pretty sure this is the first Pacquaio fight (other than the Mayweather fight) that's ever been on PPV in the UK. Staggering considering the fights he's been in during the last 5-6 years compared to this one.
Anyway, I'm predicting 20 buys. What's your prediction?
I see folk have said Pacquiao hasn't had PPV'S before outwith Mayweather fight but not true....Pacquiao Vs Marquez 3 and 4 were PPV on Primetime...the channel that launched the super 6 in the UK way back then.
Ah Primetime, i'd forgotten all about that channel. They aired Pacquiao Vs Bradley I as a PPV also if i remember correctly.
He has everything, the look, the size, exciting style, likeable, good looking, power puncher, Olympic gold medalist.
He's a marketing dream.
Question is can he live up to his hype? That's the question.
I worry about all this as I fear the questionable decisions always favouring him in the future, just like Canelo or Garcia
Though, those worries are partially eased by the fact its the Heavyweight division

That seems like a really stupid idea. I guess they're banking on this actually being Pac's last fight.
Premier Sports always tended to do these baffling things.
They had Juan Ma Lopez Vs Bernabe Conception on PPV for £3 in 2010.
True story.
Sky should have picked it up and bundled it in with the Joshua-Martin PPV.
Sky's line of thinking is probably why pay for the rights for that fight and bundle in with the PPV when AJ-Martin is going to do massive numbers on its own.
Yep.
Also, people pay a Sky subscription to watch their boxing (£40+ per month), BoxNation subscription to watch theirs (£12 per month), as well as individual PPV's from Sky on top of that (£14.99-19.99 per PPV).
It's not massive amounts, but to be expected to pay for another channel to watch a fight that nobody seems to have much interest in is a bit of a stretch.
Exactly, it adds up. Some people have BT Sport to pay for aswell. I don't personally.
Massive stretch. I was going to watch it but I'm definitely not going to buy it considering I'm going to buy AJ-Martin.
I understand, but that's still dirt cheap. How much is the AJ vs Martin PPV? The only reason I see them charging is probably because it's Pac's last fight
Nah it's not because of that because it wouldn't be on Premier Sports. No one even knows it exists.
I assume it's on PPV because after Sky and Boxnation turned it down Premier sports took and the only chance they've got of making money off it is to put it on PPV.
But no ones going to buy it.
Yeah but on the same day as AJ-Martin PPV?
Bare in mind Pacquaio's never had a PPV fight over here before.
If the first two weren't PPV whys anyone going to pay for the third one? On the same day as AJ no less.
Yep.

Only 10 pounds!? Man that's cheap. I need to move back to the UK

I'm very surprised BoxNation didn't pick this up.
I can understand Sky not, what with the Joshua v Martin PPV the same night but Pacquiao is still a massive name so you would think BoxNation might have been showing it.
