The UK paper the star is reporting that Danny Garcia is willing to travel across the pond for a summer blockbuster with Kell Brook if Eddie Hearn can cough up 5 million dollars.
Will Eddie Hearn put his money where his mouth is?
I for one highly doubt it.

I don't think Arum will, but I'm speaking from Brook's perspective. He should try to target the winner first. If/when Arum turns him down, go for Garcia. Obviously Porter/Thurman are out of the question until after the summer. Brook could fight his mandatory, Spence next, but idk if the risk is worth the reward to him.
Spence will likely fight Garcia or Broner next IMO, if he overcomes Algieri of course. Thurman who knows where he fits in, he could very well meet either of those or Brook, I'm sure he'd travel to the UK but I think Hearn will be looking at Garcia as the weaker link with his poor showings the last 24 months. Thurman is likely perceived as the more dangerous less risk averse plus Angel Garcia really hypes a fight well.
Brook is in a position where he needs a big name to win the boxing world after almost disappearing since the Porter win. Garcia is not that name and Bradley, Thurman, and Maidana would bring maybe a lesser payday but at least he stops being a joke in the boxing world and he will gain more leverage to make more money in future bouts.
Not one of those three fights will happen, not this year anyway. If Bradley wins or loses he won't be defending his belt overseas afterwards, why would Bradley travel to the UK when he's trying to establish himself a ppv draw in the States in the vacuum left by Floyd. Thurman is busy and Chino is obese.
Living off one victory and then proceeding to fight bums, and then overpricing himself to compete in any dangerous match(The Haymon Way). He has no sense of competitiveness. That an a dad like his will get you hated on. I want good boxing, not one sided beat downs.
Angel Garcia had said his piece about this.
Rios, Chaves, Bradley, Thurman etc those are some of the names that Hearns has thrown out over the last 18 to 24 months and none of those names happened.... Pinch of salt really
Beating Garcia would make him the IBF and WBC welterweight champion. And Garcia is a bigger name than Thurman while Maidana is pretty much retired.
Plus why do people hate on Garcia so much? They call him a cherry picker when he has wins over Guerrero, Peterson, Matthysse, Khan, Judah, Theophane, Holt, and Malinaggi (I didn't include Herrera). Thurman's best win is what: Guerrero?
The hate is all his fault. He had all the momentum in the world going for him, and he could have even fought Mayweather. Then he goes and gets beat(Herrera) and doesn't rematch him. Fights Salka in one of the most embarrassing moments in modern boxing. Almost gets beat by Peterson, and chooses to fight Guerrero of all welterweights.

...do not underestimate the Brits willingness to be bottle fed anything you put in front of them. They think Hearn is a demi god.
Exactly my point. Rios would have far exceeded expectations back when Hearn was trying to negotiate with Rios' team. Then they settled with Chaves, who they eventually dropped. There's a reason why Hearn is fond of making these kinds of fights.

Garcia stopped The King Khan on Sky, not Sky Box Office the UK fans know very well who Garcia is.
He is worth £5 pound IMO whether you believe different I don't care. For me if Brook wants to bring Garcia out of the States he needs to pay him more than his worth and lets be honest Garcia is a far bigger name in the UK than Thurman and Bradley. This fight ain't happening anyway, Hearn can't or won't put it together and we'll continue to see Brook face never men such as Chaves, the very fact Rios would have some fans satisfied is testament to the shyt fights Brook has fought since winning the title.
Chino is retired and couldn't make 147 if Floyd offered him another fight, have you seen him lately ?

You think Arum will match Brook against the loser, let alone the winner ? No chance.

Garcia does make him relevant especially since he already is relevant. I do agree that he should fight the winner of Pacquiao/Bradley though before anything else.

Rios would have been a bigger draw than Garcia. But for some reason Hearn decided not to pursue the fight. And Rios would have been fine with getting 900K US. Which just shows the figures that have been thrown around here are mere fantasies.
What a load of bs. I'm sure Rios would have been happy for 900k he'd be happy if you paid his dining bill and airfare.
That fight would in no way have been a bigger draw than Garcia, Garcia knocked the fück out of Khan in a fight that garnered a lot of attention in fight week and not in the UK and States alone.
Garcia vs Brook is the biggest fight in the division excluding Khan, Floyd and PAC against Brook/Khan in the UK, period. If Froch versus Kessler was ppv Brook versus Garcia is almost certainly ppv, and I genuinely believe if Haye can sell out a stadium after a lopsided defeat against Klitschko to face Chisora I don't believe Brook versus Garcia selling out an arena is so far fetched, if they put Joshua versus Harrison and chief support Brook versus Garcia that'd do Wembley. The latest talk is Fury Vs Klitschko rematch filling an arena 40k after the drab first encounter of the two, do not underestimate the Brits willingness to be bottle fed anything you put in front of them. Right now Brook should be looking for a name that makes him relevant again(Thurman, Bradley,Maidana). Danny Garcia is not it and he isn't worth that much.

Garcia is not worth that kind of money, not now anyways. Garcia still has Herrera problems and didn't look to spectacular against Peterson. If it were Thurman, Bradley, or Maidana then i agree they are worth paying that kind of money but Garcia has done nothing at 147, and left question marks at 140.
Have you seen how big boxing is in the UK? Brook and Garcia would sell out some arena and do well on ppv there. They're not going to do Carl Froch numbers, but they don't have to in order to get that $5 million number. Kell Brook vs Khan would have saw both fighters splitting at least $15 million.
Garcia is a big draw in America and the synergies of his and Brook's star power would sell a good amount oversees.
Rios is and was god awful, a step back from Porter I suppose a step up for Brook since his injury. I'm thankful we never had to see that fight.
Is Rios a better opponent than Chaves and Vargas ?
The UK audience would have gobbled it up just like the Gavin fight. It's not about whether it's garbage or not. They hardly know Garcia, yet fantasy kids say Hearn could somehow come up with $5 million for just one fighter and still manage to make a handsome profit. That's silly.
If that's the case, then Hearn would have made tons of money if he pursued the Rios fight. And Rios is far cheaper.
Hope that helps.
with charles martin getting 8.5 mil im pretty sure 5 mil is reasonable
Brits actually like and admire when Joshua fights though. Do people over there even respect Brook? His only decent win is against Porter and he never wants to fight anyone good.
