Question: What is the main road block for a fight against Adonis Stevenson?
Klimas says "Piece of sh*t"
Kovalev says "Ch*ckenson"
Kathy says "Adonis"
Kovalev - Adonis Ch*ckenson is a special example. I already talk about who he is, he doesn't even want to fight me in June. He wants a purse bid, but we can't process with a purse bid. I invited him to come to the network who build him as a champion, and split 50/50 or we can make more financial advantage for him. I'm not a prostitute like him, I will not throw my contract with HBO. About the networks, Stevenson bring reasons not to fight. He is just a ch*ckenson.
Kathy - Stevenson brought excuses. We talk with Stevenson promoter on 03/25/2016, and they want nothing of this, they didn't fight on Showtime since the last 2 years, and there's no way we put Showtime into this. We'll keep on asking.
Kovalev - When Stevenson jumped into the ring, it wasn't my plan, it's a situation, he came talking quack q***k q***k. A boxer who's normal mentally, would never have to do something like this. He only has to fight everybody everywhere like I do. Ch*ckenson only talks talks talks, he must fight champions like me.
Is it me or Kovalev is trying to convince boxing fans by suggestion, that Stevenson should make his classes to face him. I hope no one is fool enough to believe such crap.

When Adonis Stevenson jumped into Kovalev ring, I believe it was obvious he was trying to get HBO attention on his will to make that fight happen. On Kovalev side, Sergey was caught off guard and backed up, proving he wasn't serious when he claimed he wanted to unify all 4 major belts from this division, just few seconds before. Consequently, all Kovalev fans thought he would show some signs of toughness against Stevenson, but in reality he was just acting all along.
Since November 2015, Adonis Stevenson team already put aside the purse bid option knowing it was Kathy Duva main justification, which is leading us to ask the question; Why Sergey Kovalev tries to convince the medias about a procedure Stevenson clan decided to abandon way back in 2015, Why! what purse bid Kovalev is still talking about?
The WBC ordered the purse split at 50% not HBO, and who Kovalev's try to fool with the joke: (I will not throw my contract with HBO), if Stevenson clan proposed a dual network association to please every party.
What about HBO not wanting to match Showtime offer when Stevenson changed network, What about Kovalev had no contract with HBO when Showtime sign Stevenson, What about Kovalev had no contract with HBO as a free agent when the WBC ordered the first purse bid in march 2015.
For Kathy, it's another story; she's no secret to no one. She's good at playing with people perception around this conflict. After calling bluff for the purse bid she'd requested in 2014, she came back with her own deal, full of great advantages with only 1 determinant condition she already know Stevenson couldn't follow: (HBO exclusivity). Waiting on Yvon Michel to only say "Wait a minute", just to overreact and close the appearance of negotiations; by screaming it's over, we did everything we could, they don't want that fight, they didn't fight on Showtime since the last 2 years, it's only excuses, and other ish. Basically, Kathy Duva is only saying that if Stevenson clan wants to fight Kovalev they must bend over and get it dry. Even if Kovalev clans is the one rejecting all team Stevenson attempts to make this fight a reality.
As long fans cheer on Kovalev ducking Stevenson, this fight won't happen?
Can you show me where it says he demands more than 50? Any proof at all that he's as as greedy as Adonis or Ward?
One thing I like with people who plays dumm, is the fact that to act as they do, they must 1st be more than aware about the real truth in the situation. Despite this quality, their morality is seriously unbalanced from logic. Because the main weakness with their kind, is their incapacity to regulate their own feelings. Even knowing the truth, the fragility of their emotions cause them to develop the powerful faculty to lie to themselves constantly. With the inability to be aware on how dumm they really look, as soon as they play at it...
They were offered 50/50 and a purse bid while he was a free man with no bounds to HBO... Took note of the 50/50, rushed in to renew with HBO and chickened out from the bid ... He ducked... Not much else to say...

I will side with you guys about Kovalev if you can show me that he's as greedy as Adonis or Ward. I've never seen Kovalev demand astronomical sums of money. If you can show me that Kovalev wanted more than what he was offered, then I'll be convinced you have a case against the Krusher.

Bernard Hopkins: Stevenson was negotiating with us then stopped returning my phonecalls.
Sergey Kovalev: Stevenson was supposed to fight me but switched networks.
Pascal: Stevenson cut off negotiations with me without giving any reason.
Kovalev/Pascal/Hopkins: We all fought each other instead.
Stevenson: They all ducked me. You can trust me because I went to prison for child prostitute trafficking and am basically a released pedophile.
Spot the odd man out.
when bhop is asking 75% and wont bulge i would stop answering his calls too..stevenson beat the man he could not beat and he is the lineal champ...go look at stevenson numbers on hbo they are fantastic
Its not hard to see..lol..Hopkins comes straight to HBO instantly gets a Kovalev fight..Ward comes straight to HBO gets a deal to fight Kovalev..plus Kovalev will fvcking come to you to fight...Stevenson is clearly the problem here
Stevenson blew the deal. Hopkins had a few days to name an opponent or be stripped and Stevenson made last minute duck demands then stopped returning phonecalls. Kovalev took the opportunity.

Now what's your real reason for sympathizing with this ducker? Are you a pedo too?
Hopkins JUMPED ship from Showtime to HBO, and it was because of a phone call. Nah! GoldenBoy promotion JUMPED ship from Showtime to HBO, and it was because of a phone call, is that right...
First thing first, Hopkins lied about the Thomas Williams IBF story, and also lied about the phone call he never received from Stevenson clan. He deliberately insisted to inflate his purse, with consequences of disrupting the negotiations between him and Adonis Stevenson. Which is a clear proof he'd already made an agreement with Kathy Duva to drop the lawsuit off their back. The timing was perfect to move network, the timing was perfect to drop this bogus lawsuit.
The issue is, in July 2014 Bernard Hopkins suddently requested to be paid 5 millions (70%) for the unification against Adonis Stevenson.
But the original deal was for (50%) 3.5 millions each contenders.
Rejecting the idea of being paid 3.5 millions (50%), Hopkins decided to agree a reduced (70%) deal with Kovalev.
That (70%) is 2 millions, which gave Kovalev (30%) 650 000$...
The Question is WHY would you reject a 3.5 millions deal against X, and agree for a reduced 2 millions deal against Y ?
"It did surprise me simply because he took less money to fight Kovalev. At this stage of his career, Bernard has been very clear that he wants to maximize revenues. That's the way it surprised me. But from a boxing perspective it's part of the business. he wanted to take on Kovalev and I don't fault him for that. If he wants the Kovalev fight, then at this stage of his career he has a handful of fights left, if that, and if he wants to prioritize that fight I'm not going to hold it against him," Espinoza told BoxingScene.com.

Michel continued - "So in order to have necessary time to prepare a good promotion and to maximise revenue, we requested to have a purse bid as soon as possible."

In the letter, Michel writes: "You must have done your deal with HBO just recently because you were quoted, right after the Pascal fight on March 14, 2015, that it was Kovalevs last fight of your current contract with the network. This is one of the reasons we requested the WBC to hold a rapid purse bid."
Yvon Michel asked for the purse bid, not Duva. She wanted to negotiate a deal instead. This was headline news at every boxing site and publication you care to name. Fuck knows how so many so-called boxing fans managed not to hear about it.
Wow! good stuff, you just proved how much Stevenson clan wanted to make sure this fight would've happen. Kovalev was under no contract (free from any network) during this period, but Kathy use this situation to show HBO how valuable Kovalev was and consequently renegotiate the secondary contract Kovalev sign with HBO in May 2015. Duva didn't even attempt to negotiate with Stevenson clan at that time, she's a poker face. Look, since Kovalev picked those 2 major belts from "50 candles" Hopkins, he gain real value; so for K-K-K, it's no longer necessary to risk a loss by fighting Stevenson if we can maintain the lie about Stevenson ducking, like that our Kovalev will always look better without ever fighting Stevenson... (Kathy-Klimas-Kovalev) = liars.
RULES & REGULATIONS OF THE WORLD BOXING COUNCIL (“WBC”)
2.8 Free Negotiations Period. After the WBC orders a bout, there shall be a period of thirty (30) days for the parties to negotiate, finalize, execute, and file a contract for the bout. Should the parties fail to file a fully-executed contract with the WBC by the end of such period, the period of free negotiations shall automatically terminate. The WBC may, by notification to the parties, shorten or lengthen the free negotiation period in special circumstances as determined by the WBC in its sole discretion.
Kathy Duva, who lobbied for this purse bid last year, labeled Haymon an “obstructionist”. By presenting herself to the WBC convention in mid December 2014, asking the WBC President to make the winner of the WBC Diamond belt, mandatory to Stevenson. Therefore, Sergey Kovalev TKO Jean Pascal on 03/15/2015, and following the WBC regulation about the free negociation period, the WBC ordered the purse bid for April 17, after (33) days. Even if Sergey Kovalev pulls out the purse bid on 04/15/2015, while he was a free agent. So the WBC waited until Kovalev re-signed with HBO on 05/18/2015 and reset the purse bid for 05/29/2015, which Team Kovalev turn down again for a second time.
Good stuff you brought up Kaf*, keep the good work, truth always prevail.
It was indeed the WBC who brought that up on Main Events demand... So they basically asked for the WBC mando spot which was granted to them, called a purse bid which was granted to them and pulled out from both when signing with HBO ... Good Job !

Now what's your real reason for sympathizing with this ducker? Are you a pedo too?
Your argument doesn't match your link. Hopkins is essentially blaming Showtime for changing the offer and blowing the deal ("Hopkins told BoxingScene that a monetary deal was reached with Showtime/Team Stevenson for the fight, but then Showtime changed the monetary figure of his guarantee - stating that additional money was necessary to satisfy the undercard...'My guarantee was at one time satisfied by Showtime and then it changed and then it became something else. When I spoke to my team, not just Oscar, but my personal team - we saw a lot of inconsistencies with what was being said on Monday and then what was being said Tuesday...From what I understand from Eric, there was really no movement from Showtime.'").
That's not Stevenson's fault.
Except that's not what Hopkins said. The Stevenson deal was there for the taking...but Hopkins chose to go the Kovalev route instead.
Hopkins said he chose Kovalev rather than Stevenson because:
(1) it was the better deal (Though Hopkins owns 5% of Golden Boy Promotions, he has no qualms about taking a fight on a rival network against an HBO star fighter. “It was a better offer and a better deal. It’s all about the better deal,” reasoned Hopkins.)
and
(2) it was the easier fight ("I would easily beat Kovalev. That would be the easiest fight. That fight, for me, would be just as easy as beating Kelly Pavlik. That fight would be real easy. Less than easy. If not, easier—and don’t forget to put that Er on the end of that word—than the Kelly Pavlik fight.")
Also: “I’m one of the last dying breeds in boxing that will take on challenges, where most will find something softer, especially in their age and their career,” he says. “I chose and choose to do the opposite.”
So BHop is very clear that he chose to go in another direction...he chose the better deal. It wasn't Stevenson blowing the deal...it was Hopkins choosing to go in a different direction.

Wow you're leaving out a lot!
Hopkins, after the deal was announced, talked about a Haymon conspiracy. He said Stevenson/Haymon were stalling on the deal because Haymon wanted Hopkins to get stripped of his IBF belt, which meant another Haymon LHW would have fought for the vacant title. Hopkins believed that's why they weren't making a deal. Hopkins had to wait until the very last day to make a decision to fight Kovalev, one more day and the deadline is over and he has to fight Mohammedi or drop the belt. Hopkins believed Haymon was trying to force him to get stripped so that he would be worth less at the negotiating table.
Also, it wasn't like this was some great deal Hopkins got (just over $1 million for fighting The Krusher, which to Hopkins isn't a big deal).
You're right. I left out all the self-contradicting, rambling, nonsensical jibberish that Hopkins often spouts stream of consciousness-style. I just boiled it down to the rational coherent stuff...not Hopkins' paranoid fantasies.
But even if Hopkins' paranoid fantasies played a role, then that's more proof that it was Hopkins that walked away, not Stevenson.
Stevenson's side blatantly ducked Kovalev the first time.
Kovalev's side blatantly ducked Stevenson the second time.
They co-ducked recently.
Everyone involved deserves blame. Kovalev at least has the Ward fight to fall back on, though. Stevenson has nothing and there's no one worthwhile that actually thinks he is the best in the division. He's a paper champ.
Bernard Hopkins: Stevenson was negotiating with us then stopped returning my phonecalls.
Sergey Kovalev: Stevenson was supposed to fight me but switched networks.
Pascal: Stevenson cut off negotiations with me without giving any reason.

FFS ... Duva didn't ask for a purse bid. She asked for Kovalev to be made mandatory for Stevenson hoping that would force Gym/Haymon into negotiating a deal with her.
It was Gym/Haymon who asked for the purse bid, not Duva.
