Who's to blame for the low turnout to Ward-Barrera?

It's not the fighters' fault, it's the fans' fault for not knowing sh1t about boxing and not willing to pay to see Ward.

Ward needs to fight outside of Oakland and realize that the boxers doing huge numbers actually have people traveling to see their fights. How popular would a rock band that toured only one city over and over be? How many album would they sell? What's his obsession with Oakland? Is his confidence that low? Obviously it's not a financial decision.

Don't worry about that for ''HBO's World Championship Boxing'' There are 2 Million Jews in NYC, and 800,000 Puerto Ricans Yankee Stadium can fulfil 30K seats. It's ward 100 %! His style is not appealing. My brother in law said after Saturday that GGG would kill ward. I told him styles make fights and ward is a superior boxer plus ward is huge. I think ward easily out boxes GGG. Back to my point my family are casuals and they were all bored watching the fight.

Well Lemieux had at least a reputation and some follow up ... Barrera had none of those, and still doesn't... What reputation did Lemiuex have? Nobody knew him. Just as nobody knew Monroe or Barrera. Not sure why its hard to say that ward simply does not have a crowd pleasing style.

He doesn't appeal enough to the public. There's not enough hardcore fans to fill a stadium. The casual fans make up a sizeable chunk of attendance and TV views and his style, along with his lack of charisma, don't appeal to them.

Ward-Barrera drew a crowd of 8,532. Less than half of Oracle Arena's 19,596 total seats. Ward should be selling out fighting at home. Especially if he's headlining HBO's World Championship Boxing. Sadly many felt it would be more exciting to stay home and color easter eggs. Boy were they wrong.

Oracle sells out every warriors game...Ward just isn't a draw. Never was, never will be.

I kept hearing by Cali boxing people that they thought some Too Short 30 year concert thing in Oakland was gonna hurt the draw for this fight. But I think that took place at a 3k capacity venue so idk wtf they were talking about. Ward just isn't an exciting fighter, he's a humble rather quiet mundane guy & there is a ton of **** to do in Cali on any given night so Ward selling out is gonna require some crazy **** going down. Why he's even loyal to Oakland makes no sense to me. He should adopt some random town in Kentucky & try to get some sort of Crawford in Omaha following. I don't think he's ever gonna be killing it in Cali. He's just not that guy. Um he's from that area

Ward hasn't been very active and he's boring. Roc nation doesn't have a clue what there doing, promoting boxing events that sells tickets isn't easy. Black fans don't support guys like Ward/Bradley the way they do Floyd.

Venues have set changes and seating changes for the particular event. People forget that the StubHub center in L.A. is a soccer stadium but it's configured to seat around 5K for boxing events. Lmao. StubHub is actually 2 sporting venues. The soccer stadium which seats 35,000 and the tennis stadium which seats 8,000 and is used for boxing.

roc nation, like PBC, don't really seem to have much of a "ground game" in the same way that old hands like top rank and GBP do. they just put up the money for events and then don't seem to actually do any promotion You beat me to it! It's easy to point the finger at Ward. But his job is to fight not promote.
